You think that's bad? One time this big guy came up to me (obviously looking to fight) I froze, my legs were no longer working and when that guy came in close I got so dizzy I pretty much dropped to the ground without him even touching me.... -9999 street cred right there.
@@paulmanly3694 The important thing is to not show weakness in any manner. I'm always respectful and keeping to myself and I'm not really messed with like that. I try to help people out rather than bully them, it's more appreciated.
This is also very useful for PTSD because trauma damages the "Fight or Flight" response and puts people in a permanent state of stress. Deep breathing is a simple, straightforward and easy solution. Thank you for your video
This is the main reasons I try to stay away from conflict. I get scared even when I know I can beat the shit out of the guy i'm gonna fight I get really shaky and my brain tells me to chill.
See this is why I don't fight. This is a normal, happy looking guy and he would beat the shit out of somebody. You never know who can beat the crap out of you these days lol.
After 12 years in Special Forces I've learned one thing. any soldier or fighter who says they can go into a situation without fear is full of shit. This guy has a very valid point, if you can control your fear you have a very good chance of controlling the outcome.
"Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear. Except a creature be part coward it is not a compliment to say it is brave." --Mark Twain, Pudd'nhead Wilson's Calendar, 1894
I have realized that fear comes when you don't want to fight, when you want peace. But peace, like privacy is an illusion. A most simple thing like buying a bottle of beer can become life and death situation. Often, times that you think are peaceful - summer, Christmas holidays - are most dangerous times. About 98% of murders are committed on those beautiful, warm summer days. Not everybody has Christmas spirit or is in cheerful mood because of a warm weather. One has to be prepared to die and prepared to kill before exiting his/her house.
Idk, but every time I'm about to get in a street fight or boxing (sparring ), I always overestimate my opponents. I always feel that they are all faster and stronger than me.
This video was helpful. I am 22 with a blackbelt in Brazilian Ju-Jitsu and Chinese Kempo Karate. I began my martial arts training at age 3. I have also studied different techniques from different arts. But my bases fighting styles are BJJ, and CKK. I have been in a few brawls, and before the fight officially started I would get a pit in my stomach. That usally let me know to prepare to defend myself. I was taught as a youngling to breath in as much air as possible. In regards to oxygen and that its needed to stay alive. In a fight if you do not breath you will slow down and fatigue very fast. This gives your opponent and opportunity to hurt you. Personally I am very capable of defending myself, this has never given me an ego. That fact is there is always someone who is bigger, stronger, faster than you. The true test of your abilities, and skills is to persevere , to win. Even if you are outmatched or if the odds are not in your favor. If you have to fight roll the dice, in your head say "fuckit" throw a punch.
Not to mention that if someone gets in your face and you take a step back and breathe deep (in through the nose out through the mouth) while looking them right in the eye it is pretty intimidating. Nobody wants to fight someone who looks like their about to become the hulk.
this helped me alot, i never froze but everytime i fought i could not remeber a thing, like somebody was fighting for me, i wish i could stay in control.
My first fight was exactly like you described , but my second and third i was able to gain some control over myself, like being able to hear my coach and think before attacking , i think the more your fight the more you will be able to control your feelings
hdf3allstars Ik like if you’ve been training in a martial arts, unless you’ve been practicing your moves A LOT then you don’t remember your training or live the moves you’ve been practicing. It’s like your body has to get use to the moves that you’ll do in an actual fight.
DJ AJ i jave to same problem and its annoying because i want to improve. Ive done muay thai fights for years and i still black out. Do you know how to prevent blacking out
Same. I'm trying to not to do that. I think it is adrenaline and it blanks you out completely and then you lose control and just go full ham on that person.
well i once kicked a guy's ass so extremely. that's the time I discovered I'm actually more powerful than many of my classmates. but on fighting I feel like I can easily knockout this weak guy but my body just don't allow me to give my best
Soumya Sista damn like when I fight I can't control myself I don't KNOW how to explain it but like I feel light headed and I feel like my body is just moving by itself wtf
never fought im my life but i always train in my life never been in boxing i train myself and i actually had a lil boxing contest with my boxer friends and i won them 2!!! and other people that actually almost fought dont even want to they just walk away when they say something and funny thing is that im 125 pounds..
I feel like when we fight in defense, it can give us the advantage. The attacker assumes they can pound their victim. One just has to be able to handle the fear, make the block and get them good in the body or head, and the attackers confidence is cracked.
A mate of mine, an ex doorman, said that one of the worst things you can do is to get into a shouting/pushing match. That builds adrenaline. Either hit or don't hit - don't get into a discussion about it.
If they touch me it's on. Immediately and instantly. No messing around. (I can rightfully say he assaulted me first.) I go full force with combinations. Jabbing from head to ribs. As they turn to protect their side, I giv them a good shot to just behind the ear. I push them off balance and go to work on them trying to keep them off balance. If they fall, then I kick them in the body and start pounding joints like knees and elbows.(If there are no witnesses present.)
Fear feels like Happiness just in a deferent mind frame. So listen to this mind blowing theory... Think of something happy like a vacation or something, it immediately turns to excitement!! It’s crazy!
I always get scared everytime I'm about to get into a fight. I'm not scared of the person I'm fighting I'm scared of losing the fight and humiliating myself.
+McKatzkiePlays I see a lot of bad influence around here for a young kid. The best advice to win a fight is not to ever start it. Human brain is supposed to be much more effective that the mussels. If that doesn't help then either it is a very bad luck or there is a damaged brain, which will be in some sort of trouble later on in one way or another.
This is great. Knowing that it's natural and normal to feel that way before a fight could stop your freak-out and stop you wasting energy on thinking there is something wrong with you. Thanks mate.
"I don't intimidate people before a fight, I intimidate people when I hit them" - Mike Tyson One of my coaches used to always tell me: "let your opponent feel your punches" and simply watch how they react afterwards... I can guarantee they will be a lot more cautious and worked up when they come back into range of your punches. Or what you can do is go straight into them throwing punches which will cause your opponent to panic, then immediately get down low and start throwing body shots...they will be too busy trying to punch you away that they won't have the arms to protect their ribs so you can easily knock the wind out of them and to finish off (using your strongest side) execute them with a big uppercut and watch them fall/stumble in agony and confusion. (If you hit them hard enough you might K.O your opponent) So easy to think about doing all this but when you're face to face with someone who wants to win just as badly as you, self confidence/belief is key. Just need to think your better than what you actually are...
MY GOD! So, I went through a rough period and had a bit of a violence problem. Since I quit drinking 4 years ago that problem has gone away but it has been replaced with a real bad freezing response that has seen me catch a few pretty bad ones. I had an altercation a couple days ago and I could feel myself freezing up and I got angry, nothing happened but I was pretty upset with myself. It basically felt the same as losing the fight even tho nothing happened. Tonight, the same guy that's been giving me a problem gave me cause to call him out. He behaved the same, acting real tough, I know he isn't, but I still don't really want to be violent and I did exactly what you said here. He was screaming some nonsense and then he said it, LETS GO! I took I felt what was happening, isolated it, loved it, took a deep breath and it all became very clear what was about to go down, even to him. I had a plan in my head, I knew exactly how it was gonna happen, I remembered virtually everything that has ever worked for me in a fight. I said let's do it homie, outside, it's gonna be fun. Instant cowardice. Morally demolished him. Stood there with his mouth open. Ask again, you coming? Not a word. He wasn't coming for the trip. It's a worse defeat than if had to put him to sleep. Didn't have to left a finger. Thank you so much. I really can't thank you enough. It was better than winning a physical fight. You're a legend bro. Thank you so much
Today I was about to fight in Mexico and I had problems with a drunk guy he suckered punch me back of the head and I froze I had a plan but forgot after he hit me but my friends pulled me out the worst part I knew muay Thai and that was the perfect time to use put it been 6 months that I didn't train and I feel like shit really do but this video helped me a lot thank you so much man
This is probably one of the most important factors to a fight. I've managed to control this over the 13 years of my training. You also want to be able to read your opponents movements before they make them. I have this ability by nature and some do, compare it do a real life stage 3 sharingan from naruto.
I like to compare everything in my life (in this situation fight) with chess. 1. rule is that you can't play chess if you don't know the rules, which means that you can't fight if you don't know what is victory for you (the aim depends on person). In chess firstly you need to open; fear, confidence in yourself, anger, your goal... all of this things are. If you can scare your opponent and better controll your feelings than him, you have a good opening, but if you can fool him to think that he has an advantage while you are the one who has an advantage is the best possible "opening" (when someone is scared, he won't be surprised if he loses and he won't have anything to lose so his logic might be "I should try", but when someone's confident that he will win he'll start to make mistakes if you caught him in the trap and he'll be shocked and in beginning of actual fight you'll have huge mental adventage and probably that would be a checkmate). However, your opponent can do the same thing, so be careful and use your brain (what's hidden behind his move). Don't take his figures (even if they are for free) before you check safety and never wait to land a checkmate (you can easily see when you have a REAL chance). You'll feel fear, but if you use your brain to make a plan, your fear will work for you (the amount won't be too big and fear exist to protect you, so don't fight against friend).
I get nervous and scared in the beginning but then when the fights starts, my mind just goes blank and I only think about hurting him and just not stop
This video is so underrated. Anyone who claims they haven't felt fear before a fight, confrontation or big game is a liar. Trav breaks down each of the feeling your body produces when you get the fight or flight syndrome and teaches you how to deal with them and fight or even compete. This can save you from a serious ass kicking and an extremely valueable lesson to teach to your kids when faced with confrontation. This is one of his best and he does alot of good videos.
You probably will disagree with this, but you have to lose the first few fights to understand the adrenaline rush better and how to control it. When you go to learn mma, muay thai, etc. you WILL get beaten to shit the first times, it's generally accepted by everyone training martial arts. After the soreness goes away in a day or two, you feel stronger, less scared.
ImGoingSSJ I used to spar with my friends in my backyard in boxing idk if that counts. But that does make sense what you said I imagine the more you fight in time, the less that fear will control you.
+henry lo well damn lmfaoo not trying to get fucked up to feel strong after 😂😂😂 is not an embarrassing thing tho because you win some you lose some, but the pain man lol.
Sometimes I feel scared also, that's part of the "fight or flight response" i.m.o. Feel the same way when attacked by a couple of large dogs, I just channel it into rage & aggression, gives me more strength & pain tolerance. Usually during a fight I don't feel any pain at all. Other times pre-fight I just feel angry or determined or both. Afterward, I usually feel bad, win or lose, shaking from the adrenalin, or I feel bad because the guy got hurt worse than I would have wanted. I never liked to fight for those reasons, but sparring's fun. Haven't had to do it to a female yet, but certainly have met a lot of them that deserved it. The way I see it is; If they're going to act like a man, I'll treat them like a man.
Your brain doesn't understand what is a video, so whether it's a real fight or a video, your body will go into fight-or-flight mode, preparing you for defence. I feel the same when watching fighting videos. I can feel the adrenaline rush.
+Kylie's Friend You were shaking because the andrenaline in your blood stream increased your heart rate and dilated (increased the diameter of) the vessels in your skeletal muscles. This gives you more strength and endurace with the side effect of shaking because your muscles are all pumped up, ready to contract hard and you are not doing anything with them. Its normal, nothing is broken, you are not a pussy (well you are a girl, but you know what I mean) and ironicaly even though you might be feeling very weak, you are really stronger than ever. The feeling of weightless arms and legs you might have is caused again by adrenaline. You muscles are stronger which means they can move the weight of your arms (which hasnt changed significantly) far more easily and that why it feels like your limbs are very light and frail.
Some random dude with his whole family just tried to fight me and my buddies outside of a buffet. I don't know if I was ready to fight or if I was freezing up, first time it's happened but I'm gonna keep watching your videos so I'm ready if it happens again. Thanks man
when i first started sparring i froze up all the time but after a while, when i calmed down and started thinking again, i strategised and then i started doing stuff now, i like to quickly refer to a premade strategy for taller/smaller, more/less aggresive potential threats it makes me more confident in more scenarios
I dont fight but i wrestle and before every match i had HORRIBLE anxiety. I never knew why, so i praise this video. The problem is that i am such an emotional person that i will try to calm myself or other people will try to calm me and i start to cry. Can anybody relate or have advice. It was my fist year wrestling so it may get better
Considering it was your first year, anxiety is totally normal. Get some experience/wins under your belt and eventually the confidence you have in your abilities will outweigh the anxiety. That being said, anybody who says they aren't even a little nervous before a fight/competition is lying out of there ass.
That sounds more like performance anxiety. Face your fears and expose yourself to it as much as possible. Do more full contact training. Get your ass kicked and stand up. Challenge the best guy you know and even if you know you're going to lose give it your all. Eventually you'll stop taking it 'personally'. Nobody becomes a winner before he has lost a dozen times over.
I Have A Fight tomorrow with an annoying bully in my class he keeps saying he wants to fight but he doesn’t do anything I don’t do anything cuz I don’t wanna get suspended but sometimes I wanna fight him but I get a feeling in my heart like it makes me feel scared
haha you gotta watch Monty Pythons Holy Grail when they fight the Killer Rabbit! Thats exactly what happens. they go from "Charge" to " RUN AWAY< RUN AWAY"
you have the flight response i have the fight response i punched my cousin because he pushed me to the fridge so i turned around a whaped him in the face i lost though
thanks alot!!! seriously. some dude was walking close behind me while i was walking and I can tell he was thinking about attacking me or robbing me . He was a threat basically. I immediately prepared for a fight and defense, but then I felt that fear feeling , but I was still ready to throw down! but the fear feeling annoyed me! now thanks to this video, I will have a better understanding next time. Also I will try to remember to take deep breaths immediately. I was saying to myself "why the hell do I feel this? I didn't invite it and don't want to feel it!" but now I know it was my body getting ready to properly respond. Jesus is amazing.
I do that too, but I'm also fairly confident that I'll beat them because I keep getting in fights due to people somehow misunderstanding what I'm saying even though I major in English, so I'm guessing they're fucking retarded. Basically, once I get hit, you're fucked, because there's no more freeze or nervousness, but I'm watching this video to make sure that I can do that *before* I get hit so that I don't get shanked or punched BEFORE I juice them.
mahi gohan * Same with me, I get mad shaky sensations running all through my body before a fight. I hate confrontation but i know if i gotta fuck somebody up for trying to test me i can, but my brain tells me to calm down.
My natural reaction if I happened to get hit is to hit back of course. I have had my share of fights and if you practice enough it will become a habit of yours if you are attacked.
59 years old. always strong and athletic but never really wanted to hit and hurt someone. always getting out of a fight with my mouth in my later years and avoiding them with my feet(running. lol) in my younger years. I was forced to fight a few months ago and although I did not lose so to speak, I could have easily won and without injury, if I had incorporated some of what this young dude is teaching. thanks. now onto the site.
All my friends got in a fight yesterday and i wanted to jump in to help but my stomach just sank and my legs felt weak so i stood back, after watching this i feel like i will already be more relaxed for next time good video
That's not why deers freeze, they do so because their vision is affected by the saturation of light. The deers brain then overloads causing it freeze. If a bear chases a deer it runs like hell, every time. Now If a bear with headlights came at a deer it would freeze, then die. Fun fact.
Then very clearly nature has failed the Bear by not allowing it to evolve headlights. Having said this it is only of secondary importance what causes deer behaviour. The fact remains that freezing is a common human response to threats of violence.
I feel like Trav's punching me in the face with brilliant marketing combos constantly. Not only am I becoming a more skilled fighter, but a savvy ass business man at the same time. Rule #1 provide value. Dude knocks it out the park every time on that point. Thanks Fight Smart Trav.
I don't feel flight or fight before a physical confrontation. I actually found this video while trying to search for why I don't feel any different before/during/after a fight than I do just sitting on my couch (except I'm not exhausted on my couch). I have been in many confrontations, with multiple people simultaneously, who had weapons and I didn't feel nervous at all. The downside to this is I don't seem to get an adrenaline rush, which helps in fights. The Strange things, if you give me a fright - like hiding behind a door, then jump out. I get the fight or flight, but I don't in actual physical confrontations. Even if someone ran up and cheap shotted me, knocking me down, I still don't get it. I feel calm, try to get up (if they are kicking my head or not) and continue the fight. Last year I had a fight with a large group of men where they had bats, knuckle dusters and flick sticks. My nose, eye socket, cheekbone, ribs and one of my hands were broken, but I never felt any anger or fear. They were the ones backing off, not me, they were backstabbing me as I tried to fight with the guys in front, who were moving away from me, the guys behind would attack. The fighting only stopped when the police came. This wasn't always the case though. When I was a kid I did get the flight or fight. I would get butterflies and feel nervous before a fight and sometimes run away during them if I was losing. I don't understand why I don't get this.
if your telling the complete and honest truth and your not a bot???? you could be a millionaire teaching people mind control to outwit an aggressive opponent.
Thanks. I watch your videos a lot to learn how to fight. The reason being because I have a few "friends" at school that say I'm weak and ask me questions like "what have you been smoking" when I say I'm strong. I myself know that I'm strong but this is exactly my problem. When I get into a fight, I always get scared about how hard my opponent's going to hit me and I end up loosing confidence. And before I know it I feel weak. Any strength I know I have just disappears. That's why I want to learn how to control that fear. Thanks again.
Amazing video. The breath deep part how it is a guaranteed way to relax yourself is probably the best advice I’ve ever got not only for fighting but for anything that gets your nervous. I did not know it was that powerful
I am black belt taekwondo 18 years old, 6foot 2 inc = 188cm and here is my expirience. Martial arts made me very confident guy. For the last 2 months two different big guys in the gym tried to fuck with me and here is what happened - and no i did not beat the crap out of them :D . The first one was big at least 6 years older than me almost as tall as me and was lifting 120 bench press and i sort of got in his way and he started to blaaa blaa blaa at me, i didnt even know what he said cuz i was so relax and ignoring him, i didnt do anything wrong so i didnt apologise. After like 5, 10 sec i turned around with no fear, so relaxed, maybe cuz that has happened to me like 20 times, and said- I workout, i dont have time for your bullshit. He was suppriced, cuz if im 77 kilos he was 93 i later saw that, also i was only 18 and i looked him in the eyes with ice cold face. He looked me too for about 5 sec to see if i realy am as confident as i pretend to be and if i am ready to fight. He made a face expression with meaning(Hmmm ok then) and walks away. 2. A shorter guy like 100 kilos around 30 years old, but tough looking. Today i asked him if he is using the bench cuz before he was and it was unloaded with 30 kilos :D , he said no, so i used it and when i get up he came in my face and told me not to talk to him like that cuz he gonna make me taste the floor, which made no sense, since i asked him friendly. I knew he was looking for a fight. That time i sort of felt my legs shake for like 2 sec, but than i looked at him in the eyes and imagined he is a clown and loughed at him, than for like 1 sec i had a blink thought(vision) of a lion and a sheep. So be the lion- proud, king, predator, leader, real man and step up or the sheep which run and stay in the corner. There were people around who stared at us. After all, i knew i was better, and even if he KO me big deal, i won die, im a lion and take my chances even if i fail i get up stronger and step up proud of myself. So i said loudly: -Ok i see you are looking for a fight if you wanna fight me than do it here or you are to afraid that you dont have space for your fat ass, benching 30 when you weigh 100 in fat. I said that cuz i know a fight in the gym, with 20 + people inside would hardly happen. He was kind of shoked and everyone loughed. He tried to return with a smart line, but he told such a bullshit, that he felt like a baby girl. Than the instructor of the gym whom i knew very well shouted from the crowd. - I dont want a fight in my gym and since he got black belt and know what he can do i know its gonna end bad. The clown guy said some bullshit again cuz he looked stupid and walked away, and left the gym. This is real life story, i didnt made anything up. Confidence is 80% of the battle, your mind control your body, you become stronger and solid like a rock, and most of the time you end up with no fight and if your legs are shaking even if you are good fighter your body and mind are messed up. I have had many street fights before, some of them i got beaten cuz i wasnt training martial arts and done more than 50 taekwondo competitions, in some of which i smashed and others the other way around. This made me almost fearful to normal fight, but if someone have knife i dont know what is going to happen :D , all i know is i gonna run if i can :D. I have had this moments earlier in my life where i know i can fight, but my body falls back and its hard to keep up with your mind and you forget what you have learned. Learn from this story and apply. Even if you get beaten, you get up stronger and next time you wont fear a fight that much and your you will respect yourself for stepping up as a man. You should take risks to succeed and with no risks, your life is boring. This moments when you step up and deal with life, you undrestand what you are capable of and why you should keep on living and thats the time when you feel truly ALIVE. If you want a fight story of me where i fight with 2 guys at the same time and 1 went to hospital and i got arrested, ask in a coment below.
George hes just a troll don't feed him . . . . he lives for this its the only validation he gets have you seen his "channel" that should tell you all you need to know hahaha
thank you for helping everyone I have had a on going thing going on with 5 bikers and they have pulled guns on me never will they go one on one I just hope that if it comes to one on one I can control myself and walk away bless you for the help to put bullies in there place
When get scared, I freak out and that generally involves me spinning around and punching whoever happens to be behind me in the face, that rarely ends well.
I train heavy cardiovascular and water drills regulary and prepare mentally for pain to the point of somehow enjoying it. But never Learn how to fight unfortunately. Got a good perspective from your video and am gonna subscribe. Thanks
I'm glad I have a friend who has 29 years experience in mma and other martial arts black belt 1st dan etc.. Majority of the time he's showing me moves in defence and attack and I make sure I pay attention when he's doing showing me.
Tbh just slap box with your friends. It has a risk of getting slapped the fuck out and let you get used to the fight or flight feeling. Do it for fun and like me you will loose some fear once you can see that you can hold your own.
All the fight that I won at school I fought with scared. I always fight with scared but in the end I beat them up. Sometimes I feel scared but i'm not scared eg: I feel like I can't walk or close my hands when fighting but I'm not scared so I don't understand it... The only way I get not scared is when I am very very angry. So in a fight I feel scared and my scared turn into hate and iwth that hate I beat everyone at school who is looking for problem.
I'm always scared of losing I remember in the middle of a wrestling match I was so nervous and as soon as I made contact with my opponent I felt really numb Anyone know what this is called?
Likely it's "derealization": it's like a kind of real, low-level out-of-body experience, where your mind tries to protect you from fear by pretending you're not actually IN the situation, but are watching it from a safe distance. It's a natural response to fear, tho I don't know how common it is compared to other responses. Most crucially, it's nothing to worry about.
Controlling my self when I was getting robbed by two guys with a gun at work really worked. I was able to stay very alert the whole time and was able to think twice about my action. My gun was in my locker during that time so it wasn’t really worth fighting over 450$ tbh. Great tip
I'm 15, and I do boxing. If I was to ever be in a street fight, I wouldn't be nervous! However, I'm not sure if boxing would help me win a fight. I've been doing boxing for 5 years, and I do it 3 times a week. Could somebody please tell me if boxing would help during a street fight?!!
It will but know this: boxing has rules, the streets do not. If you decide to use your boxing you can't dance around like you do in the ring (I mean that like no fancy footwork). Just use your most well trained techniques, keep it direct and simple. It is about ending the fight, not proving yourself.
Ive been in a bunch of fights luckily never went bad for me knock on wood haha, street fight are faster you might expect, a kick to your knee or whatever as first move from the attacker, you cant expect fighting against a another boxer(technique wise ). Street fights are fast, mean, unpredictable. don't let the slightest chance go by, and your a boxer you know how to slip and dodge
Yes, boxing is a great start to prepare for a street fight. You should also learn wrestling too. The combination of Boxing and Wrestling skills will prepare you well against most street attacks. If you can't punch the guy out, you can then force him to the ground and try to finish him there. And if you have wrestling skills, you will know what to do when the other guy dodges your punches and takes you to the ground.
The wing chun world has all been had as well. There all learning external. Not internal there all been had. And your imformation on fighting is excellant. I always thought and was told I was week cos I froze up. But I now no it's a normal feeling to be like this great stuff. Keep it up. Great stuff
Thank you so much, ur a star! Ive been lots of street fights, control breathing always made be win the fight, it made the puches appers slow and hurted less somehow ❤
Anger is sometimes/mostly made by fear and being hurt, when you hurt someone so much they will get angry at you. When you scare someone so much they will get angry at you like when you see some of those RUclips prank videos where the person gets scared and suddenly gets very angry.
Think of it as some tough love you're dishing out. You're only defending yourself and possibly just what they need to make a positive change to their lifestyle.
I'm definitely the same way I don't want to hurt people even when I'm super pissed off I hate fighting for that reason I'm just too nice I guess. Even when I've had hit people I feel bad after I hurt them lol. Doesn't make you a bitch or soft just means your a good person too bad everyone isn't that way.
This has helped thank you veary much long story short there was a conflict and I was with my mom and I'm 16 I didn't know how to calm down and react thank you this has help
Thank you..... A bully, bigger than me, wants me to pay him 200 bucks or he's gonna beat the shit out of me. I'm fighting the bitch. Thanks again for your videos.
The first time we fought I was fucking wasted and he got the better of me. The next time I was sober and had been training with this dude down the hall from me and I've been watching these tips.... quick fight, he's got a belly and smokes, he was out of breath and I was just jabbing and landing quite a bit...he just bulled towards me and I waited and just gave him a right right to the nose and then went nuts on him. His wife pulled me off of him...after hitting me in the back of the head a few times. So the wife beat me...but he didn't.
Good job. Ignore once. Forgive once... IF he/she continues. Show them hell and shake hands and be done with it. That's life and that's how it always should be.
You're brilliant man I love the way you communicated your point I have thought about what you said in the past b4 watching this clip and I'm almost 50 and thought this in my head and realise that they only have two arms and two legs so they are no better than me and have realised if I can take a punch then should be able to retaliate and give same medicine back
I always had that crappy feeling before a confrontation or a bad situation. I just pray to Jesus for protection and feel soothing and not so vulnerable it really helps. Nice video...God bless peeps.
Bravery isn't the lack of fear, it's the mastery of it.
NO NIGGA NO NIGGA NO
Only crazy people don't feel fear. Being brave is feeling fear and fighting anyway.

Sometimes the only way to deal with a bully is to bully the bully, that's because bullies take understanding as I sign of weakness.

+Treice Anthony yeah i know that. i think its when you get a hit, that you loose some memories

I feel like when we fight in defense, it can give us the advantage. The attacker assumes they can pound their victim. One just has to be able to handle the fear, make the block and get them good in the body or head, and the attackers confidence is cracked.

+McKatzkiePlays If you get once chance, make sure it is a knockout.
Michael Mabood Fuck this guys advice. Beat the shot out of that bully. Teach him a lesson that he'll remember for the rest of his life.

@@ronfor_ever7037 you're a pussy. You act like a beta male. I bet you go fetal during a fight, talkin like that 😌
This is great. Knowing that it's natural and normal to feel that way before a fight could stop your freak-out and stop you wasting energy on thinking there is something wrong with you. Thanks mate.
Whenever I've felt this feeling,I've always found "comfort" in knowing that this feeling means I can move faster and hit harder.
"I don't intimidate people before a fight, I intimidate people when I hit them" - Mike Tyson
One of my coaches used to always tell me: "let your opponent feel your punches" and simply watch how they react afterwards... (If you hit them hard enough you might K.O your opponent)
So easy to think about doing all this but when you're face to face with someone who wants to win just as badly as you, self confidence/belief is key.
Just need to think your better than what you actually are...

amazing, you the man. this strategy worked against me. Now i am working on this
Natural born teacher . respect
The most perfect vid for me. I'm never really scared in a fight but my bodie just doesn't whant to do anything
No one has told me nothing more effective and calming on this topic yet, thanks Trav!
When I fight I get scared.. it's normal I just react and get into it quick.
+Sheldon Cooper sparing is different, like you have to get fucked up not bruised
I just wanna know why I start shaking when people fight
same when I see someone or I fight I shake like a mixer but I will fuck him up
dude you guys too 😂 me too
Your brain doesn't understand what is a video, so whether it's a real fight or a video, your body will go into fight-or-flight mode, preparing you for defence.
I feel the same when watching fighting videos. I can feel the adrenaline rush.
Update I go to a new school that has fights every week so I got use it
+Kylie's Friend You were shaking because the andrenaline in your blood stream increased your heart rate and dilated (increased the diameter of) the vessels in your skeletal muscles.
***** thanks its nice to know I'm not crazy
That sounds more like performance anxiety. Face your fears and expose yourself to it as much as possible. Do more full contact training. Get your ass kicked and stand up. Challenge the best guy you know and even if you know you're going to lose give it your all. Eventually you'll stop taking it 'personally'. Nobody becomes a winner before he has lost a dozen times over.

That's not why deers freeze, they do so because their vision is affected by the saturation of light. The deers brain then overloads causing it freeze. If a bear chases a deer it runs like hell, every time. Now If a bear with headlights came at a deer it would freeze, then die. Fun fact.
ty for your comment you are spot on. nuff said
Then very clearly nature has failed the Bear by not allowing it to evolve headlights. Having said this it is only of secondary importance what causes deer behaviour. The fact remains that freezing is a common human response to threats of violence.
so what you are saying is, to decrease the population of deer, we need to find a shit load of bears, and attach some headlights. im on it guys.
PurchasersPVP Also to increase the population of bears. Look to the positive as well as the negative.

After like 5, 10 sec i turned around with no fear, so relaxed, maybe cuz that has happened to me like 20 times, and said-
I workout, i dont have time for your bullshit.
After all, i knew i was better, and even if he KO me big deal, i won die, im a lion and take my chances even if i fail i
get up stronger and step up proud of myself.
So i said loudly:
-Ok i see you are looking for a fight if you wanna fight me than do it here or you are to afraid that you dont have space for your fat ass, benching 30 when you weigh 100 in fat.
+Timza Frawd who the fuck are you? you are all over the comments
+Timza Frawd :0 Can you make me a better fighter oh powerful god
+Timza Frawd :') its cool, im on the verge of suicide anyways
+Timza Frawd you live a sad existence
George hes just a troll don't feed him . . . . he lives for this its the only validation he gets have you seen his "channel" that should tell you all you need to know hahaha
If you were beaten as a child your fight or flight response is over developed.
wth? lol beaten or spanked? thata discipline
True kids who were abused as child's are usually better fighters

1line summary: Take a deep breathe when you're in a conflict.
Thanks man this helped me a lot in my boxing match, especially the fact that all of this was completely natural. Made me quite relaxed.
thank you for helping everyone I have had a on going thing going on with 5 bikers and they have pulled guns on me never will they go one on one I just hope that if it comes to one on one I can control myself and walk away bless you for the help to put bullies in there place
I don't have the problem of freezing up. my problem is I get so aggressive I fight uncontrollably.
+Bilal Hamurabi I wish I had that
Vamprius It doesn't give you an advantage though.
Bilal Hamurabi Trust me, it will for me >:)
+Bilal Hamurabi I believe its easier to control yourself when you are at the mode you get into than to do the same when you freeze
Getting mad is an advantage you get 4x stronger your body realeases alot of adreline
When get scared, I freak out and that generally involves me spinning around and punching whoever happens to be behind me in the face, that rarely ends well.
I'm getting there XD

Im Never Scared To Fight, My Body Just Gets The Nervousness And I End Up Getting Beat Up😂
Same like wth
I'm always scared of losing
I remember in the middle of a wrestling match I was so nervous and as soon as I made contact with my opponent I felt really numb
Anyone know what this is called?
The Curse Of Raffam did you perform???
A wimp😁
Likely it's "derealization": it's like a kind of real, low-level out-of-body experience, where your mind tries to protect you from fear by pretending you're not actually IN the situation, but are watching it from a safe distance.
It's a natural response to fear, tho I don't know how common it is compared to other responses.
Most crucially, it's nothing to worry about.
low self esteem. low confidence

really good fighting advice. this guy knows what hes talking about.
Controlling my self when I was getting robbed by two guys with a gun at work really worked. I was able to stay very alert the whole time and was able to think twice about my action. My gun was in my locker during that time so it wasn’t really worth fighting over 450$ tbh. Great tip
Every time I got into a fight I am sweating and my heart beating so fast like I was freezing that I cound not talk because the fear inside me
I'm 15, and I do boxing.
14kevinnivek cheers
Well. Boxing will help you in a street fight against people that don't know what their doing. Now an MMA fighter.. You're in BIG trouble.
Have one of you guys have ever said "I can do this all day" just like
Steve?
The wing chun world has all been had as well. There all learning external. Not internal there all been had. And your imformation on fighting is excellant. I always thought and was told I was week cos I froze up. But I now no it's a normal feeling to be like this great stuff. Keep it up. Great stuff
Right on Trav. Really like how ya put it in simple terms
Trav....have liked all your videos....can you now release me from the voodoo spell you said you would curse me with if I didn't?

AresDemigod ....go bother someone else,
LOL
Thank you so much, ur a star! Ive been lots of street fights, control breathing always made be win the fight, it made the puches appers slow and hurted less somehow ❤
super intelligent advice
thank you, sir! i will apply this to everything, not fights ( which i hope to never have )
The real trick is already accepting the worst before the fight begins,
what difference does it make? i already have brain damage and a broken arm.
how i control fear? anger.
Meditate
anger is a foolish way to deal with fear because it will deplete your energy, anger consumes you. the most skilled fighters all have peace of mind.
Anger is sometimes/mostly made by fear and being hurt, when you hurt someone so much they will get angry at you. When you scare someone so much they will get angry at you like when you see some of those RUclips prank videos where the person gets scared and suddenly gets very angry.
when I angry I want to punch someone I can't do it I want to but I can't I afred If I hurt this person
why u care about that :D he gonna hurt and it will over :Dd
Think of it as some tough love you're dishing out. You're only defending yourself and possibly just what they need to make a positive change to their lifestyle.
Ok
Wayne Wright fuck em
I'm definitely the same way I don't want to hurt people even when I'm super pissed off I hate fighting for that reason I'm just too nice I guess. Even when I've had hit people I feel bad after I hurt them lol. Doesn't make you a bitch or soft just means your a good person too bad everyone isn't that way.
I have my first amateur MMA fight tomorrow. I had bad anxiety and trouble sleeping, I hope this works!
This has helped thank you veary much long story short there was a conflict and I was with my mom and I'm 16 I didn't know how to calm down and react thank you this has help

Did you win?
LMAO

How do i know that 6:51 link isn't a Porn site?
Yea i was thinking the same thing
I just felt this would intimidate, or just annoy most of the women who had been interested in the video up to that point.
You're brilliant man I love the way you communicated your point I have thought about what you said in the past b4 watching this clip and I'm almost 50 and thought this in my head and realise that they only have two arms and two legs so they are no better than me and have realised if I can take a punch then should be able to retaliate and give same medicine back
I'm not scared to fight anymore. 😌 Ty

idk why but I love the flight or flight mode, it just gets me so excited for some reason.
I always had that crappy feeling before a confrontation or a bad situation. I just pray to Jesus for protection and feel soothing and not so vulnerable it really helps. Nice video...God bless peeps.
