  • How to make #ChaiTea Latte recipe better than Starbucks is an awesome recipe video to watch and learn the secrete of making best #Masalatea. There are many different places I have tried this #tea but its never been as good as homemade. So I really recommend you to try and share at your next tea party.
    Ingredients:
    ----------------------
Black tea 3-4 tea bags or 2tbsp loosetea.
    1 cinnamon sticks
    2 cardamom pods
    2 cloves
    2-3 peppercorns
    1 star anise
    2cm piece ginger
    250ml Milk
    250ml Water
    Sugar/Honey as per taste
    Method
Toast the spices in a dry frying pan until they are fragrant then pour the water in and bring to boil, Once the water started to boil add ginger, black tea.
On a medium heat let it simmer for few minutes and you will have a dark tea espresso ready. at this stage add milk and bring to boil again.
Strain the tea and serve it with your favorite biscuits.

I tried making this recipe a few times in different ways and here's how I got the best result. Roughly grinding the spices definitely brings out a lot more flavor, otherwise it seems like you'd have to boil for a very long time to get flavor. I used like 3-4 star anis and roughly ground them in a food processor, used 4-5 cloves instead and put a good pinch of freshly ground black pepper on top. I feel like adding more star anis just makes the chai tea taste more sweet, aromatic and delicious but maybe that's personal taste. I used one large tablespoon of assam black tea. I put half a teaspoon each of finely ground ginger and cinnamon because my local store didn't have them whole and I added them a bit later since they are so finely ground. I boiled the ingredients until it the water had reduced by like half. Then added whole milk and heated it up until almost boiling while stirring the whole time. Strained through a very fine sieve. It was amazing and so flavorful.

Made this, first try, and it’s bomb! Waaaayy better than anything I’ve had at Starbucks, Pete’s, Philz, or local roasting hipster cafes.
I upped the cloves, boiled for a bit longer, and used white sugar.
Will be experimenting with less sugar and also oat milk.

It would have to be pretty bad not to be better than Starbucks. Years ago, I was shown how to make chai. Pretty much the same way as you have but with my method you make black tea with the spices added then while the tea is hot add milk equal to the volume of tea. Bring it to an early boil, let it cool. Repeat this two more times before drinking. Mine had no foam on top. Delicious. I think the boil/cool process maybe developed or brought out the milk sugars because it seemed sweetish as it was. When my husband and his friends went to spend a day in the woods chopping firewood, cross country skiing, fishing or hunting, a major quantity of this treat was requested along with a box of molasses cookies. I now have to watch every gram of carb I consume and have made it using heavy (whipping) cream (diluted) but it isn’t quite as good which makes me believe the lactose in milk but absent in the cream comes through by heating/cooling. Thanks. I will be making this tomorrow.

I have a great expectations about this. But for me is like cinnamon tea. I haven’t never tried tea chai. I think I should evoid to say this like Chandler about the dogs, 😂😂😂 but I thought this is going to taste wonderful. Anyway I believe this is helthier than coffee, so maybe try another tea chai latte recipe. Or less cinnamon maybe?

You can avoid the spices you don’t like or not available. Still it will give an interesting taste.

😃 as soon as you put hot water in them you can already smell. Feel free to watch my latest chai latte there we cooked 2 minutes and it was done. Toasting is optional. Also tea or tea bag or coffee can be used. 😋

Would this taste the same if using Black Tea bags?

    • @welovefoods
      @welovefoods  3 года назад

Yes, but use 2 tea bags per portion. I find loose tea is twice the strength of tea bags. I hope that it was helpful 😅

I always put honey just before drinking. Never boil honey 🍯 because it ruins the nutrients. Thank you and enjoy 😉
