- April tries to keep her relationship with Dr Choi under wraps, but when rumours break out other nurses believe they're being treated unfairly compared to her.
Season 3 Episode 1 "Speak Your Truth"
A few months after he was shot outside of the hospital, Dr. Daniel Charles prepares to testify against his shooter. Dr. Robin Charles is released from a rehabilitation facility, but Dr. Rhodes worries about her behavior at home. Dr. Manning returns to work after a sabbatical, where she and Dr. Halstead confront their feelings for one another once and for all. Meanwhile, Dr. Choi and April try to navigate their new relationship while keeping it under wraps at work and Dr. Bekker gets off on the wrong foot with Dr. Rhodes when she poaches one of his patients.

I understand why the other nurse was annoyed and to be honest there was favouritism, but she was bang out of order harassing april about her relationship.
Not sure Choi meant to allocate work that way, April was just in his line of sight when the command came out.

To be honest I can't blame the other nurse for feeling that way and what she said to April. But, she shouldn't have said it in that way. As a nurse she should be prepared to do any job that the doctor tells you to do. But, I do notice that he always makes Doris do all the dirty stuff and April always does the lab stuff.
So what its her job, if she was a receptionist then sure I'd be with her but she is a nurse and her job can get nasty at times.
She had no right and was way out of order to talk to her fellow nurse like that an should have been given a formal warning for unacceptable behaviour.
@@jackojock101 It's April's job as well and if Choi is giving her special treatment than the other nurse has every right to complain, but there is a right way to do it. Definitely not in front of a patient, even if he was unconscious.

Yeah, there is a right way of doing this but she goes off and prods at them. No ones blameless in this episode.

If it really was such an issue that it compromised the working environment then a formal complaint should have been filed or some other less hostile method employed. But it isn't about her grievances being unjustified, but her way of going about it being problematic

1:56 this is actually how the couple across from me met. The husband (doctor) did die a few years ago and the wife (nurse) was recently put into a care home. However I'm sure they enjoyed a happy life together with a large family that now consists of great great grandchildren.

I get the first out burst from the nurse. Adrenaline is going, your tired and frustrated. Maybe there has been favourtism, but going after her and being rude and snarky instead of talking about it like adults is stupid

The mother’s acting was impeccable. ‘Help my son.’ How passionate. And repeating exactly what Choi said in a monotone. She looks so bored it’s annoying
I noticed that when they leave and enter the room, they sanitate their hands first. Good practice... Unlike other shows that are just ways too medically inaccurate.
Perfectly illustrates the problem in a private healthcare industry. People can't afford basic dental checkups and it gets put off. Problem because far more serious later because of that. Now their life is put at risk and they face an even more expensive treatment for an entirely preventable problem that would have been less expensive.
I think that all the docs assign Doris the gross stuff because she's always gossiping and insulting them and it's the only way they can get back at her.

Also, just like Maggie, April is VERY reliable. In most episodes I saw the docs ask her to do the blood work and tests.

Watching this clip especially with what happened in the latest episode got me in the feels for them.
The other nurse was out of line but also professionaly if your in a relationship with a work mate then it isn't supposed to be obvious like you can't kiss and hug and hold hands. I can understand why other people would be annoyed.

Nurse Doris is very mean and rude in the series. She called Nathalie (the sensitive doc who has a baby and loves babies and is so kind with kids) an "ice queen" for no reason and she kept putting down a newbie nurse for basic mistakes until Maggie stopped her.

She called Nathalie "queen ice" behind her back for no reason, she put down repeatedly a younger and less experienced nurse for making beginner mistakes and I'm not talking putting her down in the sense of teaching her, no she was so rude that Maggie had to stop her in order to not break the young nurse's spirit.

Can I ask you if you sometimes feel or are treated as inferior to doctors? I don't mean it as an insult your job is very important and respectable but I noticed April's character is like very insecure about her being "just a nurse" and I'm wondering if there's truth to this sentiment.
