- The farlands are pretty strange and mysterious but what other weird things happen to your world as you go further and further out, even into the billions of blocks, and why do the farlands actually generate in the firstplace? And of course, how far can you go in minecraft? ALSO, i know videos like this are right up antvenom's ally, this is kinda a one time thing on the farlands with the next video being something completely different. But I will give credit as the minecraft wiki and his videos are my two primary sources of research... So go subscribe to AntVenom if you aren't!

it's as if reality itself is not stable. this otherwise immovable thing or concept we can generally depend on, that provides the fundamentals of existence, suddenly becomes unpredictable and uncertain. we cannot rely on reality anymore. imagine being able to travel far out in space and seeing something like that billions of light years out. it's cosmic horror, but in the form of a silly block game.

Fun fact(? That was at least the story at the time, but it could have been untrue): Fixing the Farlands was actually an accident, at least initially. They overhauled terrain generation, and it just *happened* to eliminate the Farlands in the process. If there was no border, then you could see the Far Farlands, Far2lands, or simply The Farlands Squared. And then Cubed. Then Hypercubed. Then Hypercubed+1 and so on and so on. The Farlands Squared has air tunnels like a Sierpiński Carpet! That also applies to the following (Cubed Hypercubed etc.)
Farlands, then FarTherlands, then FarTherErlands, then FarThestlands, then Fringelands, then More Fringelands, then Stringlands, then The Infinite Ocean, then if terrain generates far here, Farlands², then Farlands³, then Farlands⁴, then Farlands⁵, then Farlands⁶, then Farlands⁷, then Farlands^Eight, then Farlands⁹, it was tasty feast for Farlands Lovers and Fringelands lovers alike, All The Way Down.
Btw in 1.2.5, a mod was made for this version that changed the limit of minecraft, allowing you to see some incredible sights like the stripelands.

They should really add the farlands back into the game as an optional feature. Just put the world border around the point where you'd fall through the ground or you can't see without night vision. Whatever point is "too broken" to continue past.

9:26 it is mainly because these chunks are the last chunks in the world, if the chunks beyond them try to generate, then they can't as no chunks past 2^35 can generate because chunks are 32-Bit Integers, so, instead, the chunks from the center of the world generate.
It is because of an Overflow error in binary when Minecraft tries to add 1 chunk to the 2^31 power but it rolls over to 0 as chunk and block values are based on 32-bit integers.

Cool video, I simply like, and this may sound a bit boring is just walking around in the creative mode, no monsters, get some tools to dig and just see what my world is creating. I'm not a big builder, exploring is my kind of thing. But sometimes I build a tree house, not in the greatest state, but who cares...immagine that there are billions of other blocks further away to create something, or just explore further, I like this way of thinking, games like No Man's Sky for example, if you just think about infinite worlds in a video game ( almost then in Minecraft) that's enough for me to enjoy a game like this.
