What a gem of automotive history! Beautiful connection with the gentleman who took his driving test in her. Would love to see her restored to her stately beauty.
HELLO TO CHAD AND JOLENE ** it’s Sarah, the wife of ‘the guy with the beard (Arron)’ haha! Sorry this post isn’t coming sooner. It was lovely to meet y’all and I’m so happy to see the car getting so much attention and new life. To all the viewers, Wayne is my uncle and he was never told the car was going to a museum. My husband mentioned to Wayne that chad keeps his car collection after he puts his touch on them. Wayne had watched his videos before Chad had even come to see the car. There was no misleading and there should be no hard feelings towards chad as that was never the case. When you buy something, it belongs to the BUYER to do with WHATEVER they can dream up. Our family is THRILLED to see the car coming back to life and my son Isaac has been watching every video with excitement! Hope to see the old Hudson after it’s makeover some day!! ❤ keep up the good work!!
Such a beautiful car Chad! The curves, the grille, windows speak pure elegance and class! This one deserves a restoration/rustoration to make it live once again! I love the custom cars, but this beauty deserves to shine again!
I've done one of these before I think it was a 39 some lady had that this guy got it from I've patched Defenders up in the doors back rubber for the rear window were gone so I replaced that nice car had that car collection
I completely understand that this your car your show and your money. I really enjoy your show. Please consider how few of these car still exist. I've read several comments and a lot of us would love to see you restore this beautiful peace of history. You have an amazing fabrication skill . Please consider how rare it is. Thank you very much .
We had an old Hudson that sat in our barn for about 40 years. My dad got it from his grandmother. He drove it for a bit, but he didn’t really like it. He liked V8’s and power brakes. He sold it to a buddy that was into Hudson’s. I saw it a couple years later at a car show. It was nice to see someone using and enjoying it.
Please, please don’t chop it up! It has too much history. Please respect the wish of the 80 y/o guy you bought it from - restore it, doesn’t have to pristine. The patina on the paintwork would look great when cleaned up. Awesome camera work as usual from Jolene.
PLEASE DON'T DESTROY THAT CAR!! Very rare! I have chopped, channeled, sectioned, slammed, lifted, shortened, lengthened, and cut up many cars and trucks, but NEVER anything rare, and refused to cut many original good vehicles customers asked me to. Just because you are acquiring more responsible cash doesn't mean buy vehicles that are rare or pristine and cut them. May lose quite a few fans if you buy nice stuff and cut up
@@mudpine2535 I think Chad Never told This Elder Man the True. Like the very old Saying It my way or the Highway for you. So sad for the 1936 Hudson this Car has More History then Bad Mad Chad will ever had. Sorry Jolene if you Read this.
Great find on this one. With the history of this car; I would hate to see it get chopped up. This is not mine so I have to wait like everyone else. Keep up the work Chad and Jolene.
My Dad owned a 36 4 Dr during WW2 and hauled workers back and forth to the shipyard is South Portland Maine for about 4 years. He’d haul a bunch to the yard, they would work about 10 to 14 days, then come home. Working 12 hour days. 36 miles each way. After the war he sold it for the same money because metal was at a premium. Nice nice grille!! Thanks Chad!
Just wanted to ad that I like it when you show us viewers parts of these towns / cities that you drive through ...adds something extra to your videos ❤
I love seeing old junk customized but that car is a time piece gem. After meeting the owner I could never take that car home and cut it up : that car has survived this long intact it should be preserved or restored.
Here is your opportunity to get lots of respect from your viewers, the previous owner, and yes your haters. Please restore it. Show us your talent we all know you have and your appreciation for a great car that was designed so perfect. Thumbs up from Michigan.
My first car was a hudson teraplane. 19and 36. Good drivable condishion but missing right front fender. I drove it around the blueberry field one whole summer then traded it for a 1964 chevy convertible with a oil burning 6 cylinder. A good start for a 14 year old boy. Your brings back great memories. Thanks for showing.
What a treasure ! I subscribed JUST to see what you do with it ! Couldn't be prouder of Chad and crew showing the respect to this family and their grandfather's heirloom Hudson. Scrolling through the comments, it seems that there's a strong encouragement to restore it. It is indeed a unique car, Hudson's were in many ways ahead of their time in innovations and body styles. As you well know restorations can be pricey, especially interiors and chrome work. It's your now, to do with it as you will and envision. I'm glad you are off to Australia for a holiday, it will give you time to weigh the pro's and cons of modify or restore. That horn under the hood is going to sound so cool. The brits used to call them Claxton's. Can wait to see Jim's reaction to it. Thanks to Jolene for another great video. Good to see Fina get her usual cameo appearance.
I love watching your creative abilities come alive with your builds, but this one is an absolute beauty in itself! I'd like to see you restore it and keep a similar color as well. So much history in this one ❤️ Thanks Chad and Jolene!
Hey there Chad & Jolene, great episode as always! I just wanted to mention that the grill on that '36 Hudson is by far the sexiest, beefiest most amazing grill of any vehicle ever! Seriously fabulous purchase!

I'm a Hudson guy. Owned a 1929 Hudson Hot Rod pick up, and still own part of a 1928 Super six Hudson. 1936 was the introduction of the triple safe brake system. There were 12 different Terraplane models that year, all powered by the six cylinder engine.
This is a beautiful car. I would not modify it at all but restore it. Well maybe modern brakes and a few other mechanicals but that body style with the suicide doors is exactly what I would want.

When I watch your videos I always feel as if I'm there. Must be be the way Jolene films everything. Great find! Your videos are always a joy to watch. Thanks to both of you.
Chad/Jolene can’t wait to see what your plans are for this piece bygone beauty. Cars back then had such beautiful character. I’m sure jim will enjoy this beauty. Thanks to both of you for sharing 😊
Nice find , Fun Fact, the front ends from the car were the exact same as their trucks used. Watched a special where some guys found a 1942 Hudson pick up up there in Canada around Saskatchewan. Less than 250 built. Gotta a pretty rare find but there are still guys up there in Canada that probably has any parts you might need. I realize you'll make the body but I am talking mechanical or info. Good luck and can't wait to see and watch the transformation. Jolene nailed the video once again !
That's an awesome piece of history and the adventures that come with it are incredible !!! The history alone would not be able to put a value on it !!! It's a rare diamond in the rough that could be preserved for many more years of adventures in its original style from the factory !!! I would love to have it to just drive around and let people see a very awesome piece of art and history !!! I hope yall will keep it original !!! But little brother and sister are their own sculptures !!!! Awesome adventure and find for sure
This car is too rare and cool to modify, please don’t chop it up, I know you can make something cool but this car needs complete restoration, ❤ live in love my friends
I love the car as is and what a rare piece of automotive history! I will shed a few tears if you cut that one. Jesse James did that to a pristine Model A to build a hot rod lowboy. I have never forgotten that. This would be worse.😢
I grew up 10 miles from Pictou . I was born in 1962 ...the same year that the Hudson was put in storage . It has been in storage for my entire life , sitting in the dark cold garage while life went on without it . Hard to believe . Then one day ( 60 years later ) the garage door opened and sunlight shone through and who came to see her after 60 years ..a guy named Bad Chad and his beautiful girlfriend named Jolene . Both of who were not even born yet when the Hudson was put in storage in 1962 ! Cool ! Look after her guys and make her something special !
What a great find , That is a one in a million . You are so lucky , God bless you and yours , stay well and keep on keeping on . Stuart in Ontario.................................
WOW chad that’s a pretty slick ole Hudson,,when I was a kid my nabor friend had a 36 Hudson that was given to him from his granpa and we had a lot of fun with it,I was about 16 then,,it was the same color too,,I’m thinking that hood orement had a pice that stuck out the back of it to a point,,I’m happy to see you got and excited to see what you do to it,,thank you chad an Jolene for takeing us along with you agian,,luv ya’s,,👍👍😀
What a gorgeous art deco masterpiece. The Foghat song 'Terraplane blues' was a remake of an old blues tune that was written about this very automobile. Well played brother... That beautiful blue paint might even buff out.
Beautiful old Hudson, they were known to be quick in the old days. Have fun and enjoy every moment, I know I would. I have a 31 Ford coupe, which I cherish.
I will end my blabbering with, Thanks for letting us go with for the ride, and we enjoyed your video as always and I will like it and pass it on to the people that I know. Been a subscription holder for a good while now. God bless you all and enjoy your trip home safely! Great evening to you all.

Hey wow a Hudson ! Finding one is rare but to find one inn great shape is something else . 1936 Hudson wow ! Let's getir done Chad and Jolene Thumbs-up on a new potential build
My favorite hotrod build so far in my 54 years, is a 1937 Hudson Terraplane pick-up. Dan Dowdy I believe is the builders name. Hands down favorite of mine. Get it Chad! Can't wait to see this finished!
Hi Chad and Jolene! Congratulations! I agree with some people here: this is such a beauty and so rare, please do not chop it! I know you can restore it to its former beauty!
Hi Chad & Jolene, I absolutely love the long sleek front end, along with the front suicide doors on the Hudson. It is really a beautiful car and should make a really good project. I hope everything is ok with your trailer, it kind of surprised me to see you renting one. I can't wait to see you get started on the project, I have'nt a guess what your plans are for it I know that whatever the project will be, it will be fitting of such a beautiful car. I can tell that Chad is very happy about the purchase of the car! Jolene thank you for the video it was excellent as always. I hope somewhere along the line sooner than later Chad will squeeze in the painting of your Bugatti Jolene, I would really like to see it in paint finally.
What a find ! I have seen those Terraplanes in customized coupe form and they can be stunning. The grill alone is a work of art when accentuated properly. This is rare , please plan accordingly. Thanks for the great video.
Awesome evening brother and little sister !!! Just tuned in for a minute !!! Getting ready to go to work shortly !!! Will watch full video in the morning when I get off work !!! Yall have an awesome day be safe and will see yall in the morning
I agree with lots of fans that it would be a sin to cut the car up. Please let’s see you have it in you to do a restoration. I picked up a 46 Studebaker an was going to doll it up. When I saw it couldn’t do it. Keeping it all original. Runs great and is a survivor. That Hudson is the same. Once it is modified the damage is done and history is destroyed.
A great video really enjoyed watching, reminds me of the days when my Brother and I use to do the same thing, going out looking for rare cars in and around Michigan and other states. We are a owner of a 1940 Hudson. Great job, I like your sense of safety, safety comes first.
First time here and wow. What a beauty. That original blue just jumps out. Only hope you can get that color back. Sweet project. Came together well. Now the restore............
Please clean, rinse, repeat 😉 Restoration is needed..... Junkyards are full of potential chop and custom jobs ......... That's a historic survivor....✌️❤️
Good Job getting the Hudson and thanks for taking us along on the scenic ride Chad and Jolene . I like the grill and that awesome hood ornament. Even the dog got to enjoy the trip. haha
very nice find. when I was kid in Michigan in the fourties and fifties, Hudson teraplains where popular on short short dirt race tracks, they were hell for tough. That help make then even more rare. that happened all over the midwest.
I have been restoring old cars since I was 14 years old , I have a great apreciation for good builds others have done yours as well but I also like preserving some history and restoring some cars back original or real close to original that are rare or very unique , this car is a fine example , I wouldn't cut it up , it has very cool lines as it is .
❤️love how Finna was out and investigating before y'all 😂 and all those who are having a fit about Chad's going to this an that 🤫 it's now his to do whatever he wants 👌 that ole Hudson now has the best chance of getting loved like the previous owner had just in a different direction than planned ...great history makes it more interesting 👍✌️💪❤️
Wow, always wanted to find one of these for my oldest boy, Hudson. I got a couple years before he starts driving. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to find one around here.
I think you should ask and do research as to how many of these might still exist BEFORE making a decision as to restore/ restmod or full on custom. Check with some clubs and or registries. I have a feeling it may be quite rare.
What a fantastic find enjoying watching ya this morning and just wanted to say to you and your queen, what a fantastic job she does wow smooth as silk and noticeably slow and methodical movement very professional great job Jolene you guys have a great day
DO THE RIGHT THING BUD!!.RESTORE EVERYTHING.!!!!!This reminds me of when they told the old French guy on "the green mile" that his mouse was going to a mouse circus befor he died. The old guy thinks it's getting restored but everyone knows how many coat hangers are going into this historic peace of machinery
Wow Chad what a find👍 I wouldn’t do anything but clean it up and get it it mechanically sound and turn heads everywhere you drive it. But I know you ain’t thinking like that 😂 Great job as always Jolene 😍 Hey Fina❣️
The glass in the front doors of the Hudson Terraplane: in 1965 my first car was a one-owner 1935 4 door Terraplane. My friend had a 1934 Terraplane and her front doors had hinged quarter windows. After you wound down her front door windows you could also wind down the quarter windows if you wanted to have a clear open window. I believe the quarter windows were an option on the '34 and '35. My car had windows like yours and the "tricky" part was after I wound the window up to the top of the door frame the next turn of the winder made the glass move forward horizontally and completely seal against the window frame. When you were making glass for the door you had a gap which you thought would be cured by welding in a piece of steel. Not necessary! The flat piece of steel attached to the trailing edge of the window frame is there to allow the forward movement of the glass and not leave a gap on the trailing edge of the window frame. Appreciated the time you gave on the show to your Australian trip. I don't think Nth Americans are aware of how big the classic car hobby is here. Finally, think you were way too hard on yourself on the front guard placement of the spare wheel. My '35 had a brilliant factory lockable support bracket for that spare wheel.
wow chad what a beautiful find! i do believe this car is too good to radically chop or modify. the previous owner would love to see it preserved in its original condition.
just like the one i saw behind the barn in some tiny town greyhound bus stop back in '76! looked so cool i had to go take a quick look - Hudson Terraplane! have always remembered that day. good one chad!

Chad/Jolene can’t wait to see what your plans are for this piece bygone beauty. Cars back then had such beautiful character. I’m sure jim will enjoy this beauty. Thanks to both of you for sharing 😊
Thanks for taking us all along.
Wow !!! This is Real Car History !! Amazing !! Restore this Beauty Mr. Bad Chad !!
As a purist, I would restore this rare beauty back to original condition.
Chad I can't wait to see what you do with the Hudson. I know you will do it justice. God bless and have a blessed night. Pete from Kentucky
What a great find , That is a one in a million . You are so lucky , God bless you and yours , stay well and keep on keeping on . Stuart in Ontario.................................
That thing is a beautiful car! I would love to see you restore it to original condition without chopping it up! Amazing find, please don’t ruin it👍
WOW chad that’s a pretty slick ole Hudson,,when I was a kid my nabor friend had a 36 Hudson that was given to him from his granpa and we had a lot of fun with it,I was about 16 then,,it was the same color too,,I’m thinking that hood orement had a pice that stuck out the back of it to a point,,I’m happy to see you got and excited to see what you do to it,,thank you chad an Jolene for takeing us along with you agian,,luv ya’s,,👍👍😀
What a gorgeous art deco masterpiece.
The Foghat song
'Terraplane blues' was a remake of an old blues tune that was written about this very automobile.
Well played brother...
That beautiful blue paint might even buff out.
One of my favorite Foghat tunes!! Rod Price used to play some amazing slide guitar
Beautiful old Hudson, they were known to be quick in the old days. Have fun and enjoy every moment, I know I would. I have a 31 Ford coupe, which I cherish.
Nice that the both of you got out and took a break from your truck. And what a great find, 36 Terraplane. See you tomorrow Chad and Jolene.
Thanks for the ride.. Love you both!
Kind of feel sorry for the man, so many memories!!!
I will end my blabbering with, Thanks for letting us go with for the ride, and we enjoyed your video as always and I will like it and pass it on to the people that I know. Been a subscription holder for a good while now. God bless you all and enjoy your trip home safely! Great evening to you all.
Why do these folks keep saying they’re glad it’s going to a museum??? I hope they can handle it when the car gets cut up
Bad Chad new building is his museum !! Put that in your pipe and smoke it
@@brucewitcpalek5120 lol You know for a fact when those folks are thinking about a museum they’re not thinking about a museum of Chad’s art projects in his backyard 🤪
the old man would be horrified if he knew Chad was going to chop it up and make it unrecognizable. It's not going to a "museum".
are the old man's kids telling him that or Chad & Jolene???
Gonna be chopped
Amazing piece of art mesmerizing to look at.....
I know you can restore it to its former beauty!
love it and jim will love it i think .thanks for taking us on the road trip .
Great Barn find! Can't wait to see that build !
Really nice find, still amazing that these cars are still out there
What a find ! I have seen those Terraplanes in customized coupe form and they can be stunning. The grill alone is a work of art when accentuated properly. This is rare , please plan accordingly. Thanks for the great video.
What a score!
Can't wait to see what you do with it.
Those folks were so nice almost wanted to wave at them when you left.Great episode.
First time here and wow. What a beauty. That original blue just jumps out. Only hope you can get that color back. Sweet project. Came together well. Now the restore............
A very good find. Do as well as you must. Please do a resto.
What a beautiful find. Love that the doors open to the back. Such a cool old car.
Please clean, rinse, repeat 😉
Restoration is needed.....
Junkyards are full of potential chop and custom jobs .........
That's a historic survivor....✌️❤️
Good Job getting the Hudson and thanks for taking us along on the scenic ride Chad and Jolene . I like the grill and that awesome hood ornament. Even the dog got to enjoy the trip. haha
Jolene please dont let Chad destroy this rare and beautiful peace of history.Thank you for the entertainment i enjoy this channel
very nice find. when I was kid in Michigan in the fourties and fifties, Hudson teraplains where popular on short short dirt race tracks, they were hell for tough. That help make then even more rare. that happened all over the midwest.
Wow that is a slick automobile , pumped to follow the journey forward in the next stage of its life , great find guys , Wayne was a class act 👍
I have been restoring old cars since I was 14 years old , I have a great apreciation for good builds others have done yours as well but I also like preserving some history and restoring some cars back original or real close to original that are rare or very unique , this car is a fine example , I wouldn't cut it up , it has very cool lines as it is .
love the front end of that rig!
Fun watching your outings, and follow the story. Great context Chad and Jolene. 🙋♂️🐈🐈
I think you should ask and do research as to how many of these might still exist BEFORE making a decision as to restore/ restmod or full on custom. Check with some clubs and or registries. I have a feeling it may be quite rare.
Hudson made 25,409 automobiles in 1936.
@@kiwijeff3964 yes... but how many are still surviving, in that nice of condition?
What a fantastic find enjoying watching ya this morning and just wanted to say to you and your queen, what a fantastic job she does wow smooth as silk and noticeably slow and methodical movement very professional great job Jolene you guys have a great day
DO THE RIGHT THING BUD!!.RESTORE EVERYTHING.!!!!!This reminds me of when they told the old French guy on "the green mile" that his mouse was going to a mouse circus befor he died. The old guy thinks it's getting restored but everyone knows how many coat hangers are going into this historic peace of machinery
I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do with it!!! I am so green with envy right now because this is a gorgeous car!!!!!!
Wow Chad what a find👍 I wouldn’t do anything but clean it up and get it it mechanically sound and turn heads everywhere you drive it. But I know you ain’t thinking like that 😂
Great job as always Jolene 😍
Hey Fina❣️
Loving it. The Hudson, the drive, the scenery!
Loving the sign for New Glasgow. I'm from the Original Old Glasgow.
Have a good one yourselves.🫡
Wicked find, can’t wait to see what you come up with that old car chad and Jolene !
Great barn find Chad and Jolene, Sweet front end on the 36. Thank you for giving us a bit of a tour as you snagged the Hudson and floated it back home. Yes I'm a bit curious to know what the plan is for your new barn find. You can always sell it to me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
If I had the money I'd give him a hundred grand for it just to save it from being torched!
It will be really interesting to see what you and Jolene decide to with this one. The front styling is really unusual.
Congratulations on your purchase...A lovely car. Thanks for sharing.
I get Chad. I had no idea what kind of car it was. When that thing showed its teeth I fell in love ❤️
It's your car so do with it what you want
But this old man would love to see it back if possible.
You can see the emotion in the older gentlemen. Hope he can see when its restored. Awesome video.
Knowing Chad from his shows the old gentleman will see it again as a chopped hotrod...thing.
