    Thank you so much for this video. I made my repairs about a month ago and all is well.
    I also tried the same method on my polyethylene canoe (same material as a bleach bottle). The hull is 1/4" thick and the material is notorious for nothing adhering to it. I've tried other repairs with no success. So far, the repairs on the canoe are holding up. That E6000 adheres like a bad habit. I never would have tried without your video for the tractor hood.
    Thank you, again!!!!

    Thanks for your videos! I bought a 445 this winter. It has a snowblower, deck, and hard cab. I've already used your videos to install a radiator hose heater and repair my hood. Keep the videos coming! I trust your English accent :D

    You essentially did a down and dirty fiberglass job! Nice! I'm getting ready to have all the panels on my 430 media blasted and powder coated. The guy assured me he could do JD Green. My hood is fiberglass so naturally it will be painted. I hope they match. After the 1st of the year and everything is new again I am getting a Little Buck loader and a 48" box with scarifiers. I would like a tiller but I have given up on ever finding a rear PTO and I do not want a hydraulic model. It is addictive playing with these little tractors, I can see buying another when this one is done!

      Sounds good. Your guy should be able to match the JD green since it is widely available. Good luck with everything!

    Hood mounting points cracked on mine as well as side panels. Thinking about glueing small block of plastic inside hood. Maybe drill out before attaching to hood and glue it around what's left of original mounting point.

    Tesser52, do you think that you can apply the fiberglass to reinforce brand new panels to prevent cracking?

    Is there a John Deere green paint and would it mix with the adhesive to make a colour match filler ?

    I just purchase new panel screen $344 eBay.. so expensive.. I think one reason could be when you get the tractor in a twist the panel's cannot give they will split .. I know when I get my tractor 455 in a twist my fan rubs my aluminum fan guard and I suspect if I had panels bolted on at that time they would have split.. when I get my panels I want to bolt them on and such a way they will give a little to flex with tractor....

      @tesser5250  4 года назад +1

      Yes, I am sure that flexing under load is part of the problem. Fortunately, the repairs I show in the video are still holding perfectly after more than 2 years...

    Why not use regular fiberglass mat with fiberglass resin ? Just as easy to use bit twice as strong as what you are doing.. it is available at any auto parts store

    • @tesser5250
      @tesser5250  5 лет назад

      For me, this is quicker, cheaper, cleaner and just as strong. Besides, resin often does not work with plastics...

      @@tesser5250 I have a few of those tractors, and a Beuford bucket I'm building. I'm buying a cart this week, wondering if your tractor was an early model. as I'm reading the bracket you install isnt needed on newer machines but want to confirm..www.greenpartstore.com/assets/images/instructions/2017/MC519%20compatibility%20and%20requirements.pdf The shop manual is online for those tractors as well on Mytractorforum..

      I worked my LBL hard, much harder than I thought I'd be able, all last year, and it is holding up very well with no problems. I have been very pleased with my purchase. Adding the Piranha Toothbar increased the versatility...

      @@tesser5250 can you run the deck while you have the LBL attached? I would love to see a video of the hookup and controls

    • @tesser5250
      @tesser5250  5 лет назад

      I do not use the deck with my JD 445 and LBL, but there is no reason why you could not. However, you would need to add a hydraulic shut off valve so you can select between operating deck or loader. I fitted one to separate my 3pt hitch (or deck) from the LBL. One of my other videos shows how to do it and explains why...

    JB Weld works best

    • @tesser5250
      @tesser5250  3 года назад

      So you have done a direct comparison? I find the 6000 is much easier and cleaner to use, requires no mixing, spreads easily and holds very strongly regardless of wear and tear. Repairs I have done and show in video are still perfect after all this time...

      @@tesser5250 I have used several different methods. I would say they both are viable options. I like JB weld because it is so easy, strong, and ready to paint after it cures.
