Love the Rebel. Great question. There's no denying that the raptor is one of the most badass trucks you can buy. Personally when I went to see one I was surprised with the poor build quality compared to the RAM. I didn't like the interior as much either since it felt very dated. Yes it's faster but I have a hellcat for going fast and no stock truck is faster than it. I dont need a fast truck just one that's comfortable for long trips. Lastly I was never brought up around trucks so my expectations towards vehicles is different. Thanks to its modern interior owning a RAM didn't feel like a compromise as much as it would have been with a Raptor.
Totally disagree on your assessment on fuel mileage. My 2017 Big Horn Crew Cab 4x4 with Hemi and 3.92 has repeatedly gotten 22+ highway MPG on 1000+ mile trips and gets 18.5 in 50/50 highway city driving. I'm old enough to remember trucks like my old 1997 GMC with 7.4 that got 8 or 9 in town and would never get over 14 on the highway.

I got a 2016 ram 5.7L (with 8speed) and I get 16.0+ mpg city which is a whole lot better then the 13.5 my friends 2013 ram 5.7 (with 6speed) gets. In my opinion it’s not a gas eater
same issue with you concerning the backing up assist. it was slamming the brakes when I was backing up in my driveway. Disabled ASAP. Beside that I do love my RAM
If I'm being honest the 5th of your 5 things are complaints. Why would you worry for after you paid more to get wider screen and it isn't standard? Please enjoy your new truck. I placed an order last week with all my options
Don't get me wrong I am enjoying it a lot. I'm really satisfied with my purchase these are just things that could have made it perfect for me. This is my opinion
Totally with you on the ventilated seats. Here in Southern California, it reached 117°f/47°C last year, so I love the ventilated seats in my Camaro. I’m looking at getting a Rebel and annoyed I can’t have ventilated seats. It’s like RAM are saying we can’t possibly want to be comfortable if we want off road features. Why are the two mutually exclusive?
you can connect your phone via cable and screen will mirror, using google maps from your phone. and also you forgot to mention that the lock door will pinch your arm and hurt you really bad!
For the backing-up park-assist braking, it’s the exhaust... The sensors sense the smog from the tips. Therefor, tricks the computer into thinking there’s something there...
Great, informative video as usual! I'm going to buy a new Rebel next year and it's nice getting these videos. Dumb question, but can you use google maps on the big screen with android auto? Thanks, Bryan
Technically the engine didn’t change since 2009. 2009-11 had variable cam timing 2012-current 2021 had variable valve timing. 2009-2014 changed to hydrologic assisted power steering 2015-2021 they went to electric assisted power steering and the horse power gain was 5hp; 390 to 395. 2003-2005 had spark plug wires and distributors. And since ever since its inception had 16 spark plugs, that’s a lot of plugs and wires. But since 2006 has had coil on plug.
Hey, I live in Abu Dhabi and own a RR12 2019. Yeh agreed, the rear parking sensor sucks. It Rams (excuse the pun) on the brakes for mostly no reason; there's a car 18m away...BRAKE! I also looked at the Limited that has all the gadgets you want for 20k AED more but looks kinda...'never get dirty' in case you pull up next to an S class. Cooled seats, yeh. Please Ram install this as an option:((
When you said RR at first I thought you meant Rolls Royce! Turn off the auto brake in the settings and never worry about it again! I totally forgot about this feature as I have had it off for a while :) best of luck with the Ram! I'll be bringing mine alongside Snowcat for DXB Made in Dubai on the 21st of February
@@Snowcatsrt ahh didnt know you could turn it off permanently via settings. I just toggle the switch off at the bottom of the 12 awesomeness. Need cooled seat though man! However, in our Bahrain / UAE climate at the mo...kinda liking the heated steering wheel and seats 😉
@@derekdredger2179 yeah at the moment they're nice but cooled seats would be amazing for the summer. My hellcat has them but this doesn't lol I don't understand 🤣
May I add my two cents being a Rebel owner. The rear parking sensor that you mentioned as a problem....here's my experience with that stupidity. I live in Ontario Canada on a hundred acres and my driveway is two miles long. At the mile and a half mark, there's a left and one heads into what was an ancient river bed where my shop and house are located. Half way down the hill, if I don't install what's called a snow fence in the field above it I get a drift the size of fifteen rams and over 8ft high. Week two of ownership of my Rebel and there was a relatively small drift on this particular day and those running boards also don't help in snow. After going through the drift, back and forth a few times, I tackle a slightly deeper part of the drift and get stuck. I do the back then forward move to try and get out and it was working. Now, I'm punching the gas when doing this. I throw it in reverse and punch it, while twenty or so feet away my dog decides to cross the by the rear path of the truck. All I heard snap bang clunk. The truck broke itself by slamming on its brakes because of my dog who was in zero danger and the truck snapped an axle. Interior panels scratch way too easily. Vacuuming the crevices of the panels for the first time while being shadowed by my head. Once done, I back off only to see the whole interior of the crevice next to the drink holders scratched badly. I own a number of vehicles and do the same thing to all of them. Don't do it to the Rebel though!!! The gas mileage, I found a huge improvement once I hit 20-25,000 miles. Before that, complete pig on fuel. Front end paint sucks. That grey skid plate is insanely chipped. All this truck has ever seen is highway driving. The lenses to the headlights, same, chipped and scratched. I can't imagine them at 100,000 miles. There's more but I'm out of time. I'll finish this another day.....
These options are specific to the Rebel. I like the look of this truck and the specs that are unique to it like the seats and the interior trim but choosing it you can't have cooled seats or the other things I mentioned which is ridiculous when most of the other variants can.
Funny, 1st thing you hate is lack of updated horsepower. 2nd thing you hate is bad fuel economy...lol. I share your pain though, get this, my brand new 2019 $64k Power Wagon did not come with auto side steps or,,,, the F@#%ing front view camera! And I did get the luxury package. Yes, it is my fault because I did not really do a hard bells and whistles check but come on! A Power Wagon with no front camera? That was one of the biggest selling points!
I didn't know that you couldn't get it with the front camera that is annoying as hell. Updated maps can improve fuel economy and add hp. I mean Pulsar did it
There's a few of these videos about "what I hate about my Ram". Well guess what folks, it's not things you hate, it's things you choose not to include with your order, you choose to take from the lot or you choose the model you did, for whatever reason. If you are going to do a video about things that are annoying, talk about how the 12 inch Uconnect desperately needs an update due to failings in the system, or the A/C is not as cold as the 4th gens, or how expensive the WiFi is to have....I love my Ram Sport but the things described are mainly options you didn't get
Do you really expect a factory navigation system designed for the US to have maps for Bahrain? Even if they’re developed by a third party and sold by Uconnect at a later date, how accurate will they be? For you to fault Ram Trucks is ridiculous, the same for your choice of a Rebel over a Limited...It’s all on you own it!
It has an updated navigation system for the Middle East as it is a MENA spec meaning it should have proper navigation. People in the US have also had similar issues with the navigation. Not sure how it is my fault? You can buy a V6 Challenger or Charger with all the optional goodies a Hellcat gets why can't you do the same with the Rebel. I don't want chrome that comes with the Limited and I like the Rebel interior trim. Not being allowed to option cooled seats and give FCA more money is a missed opportunity.
I don’t see where half of the complaints come from.... you want the features that go in a Limited... then buy one. That’s the point of different trim levels.
No you're wrong. Trim levels should give you packaged options and unique designs but should not dictate functionality. Not being able to tick cooled seats in the Rebel is a ridiculous oversight from Ram
Snowcat_srt Bottom line is that all manufacturers have different options for different trim levels. Their product, their choice. Don’t like what they offer, tell them and see if they’ll change what they offer. 🤷♂️
@@souldoctor10 a lot of manufacturers actually do what I talked about including Dodge which Ram used to be part of. You can get a basic charger V6 that has the same parts as a hellcat for example instead of having to go aftermarket.
Really just pulling at strings. The company isn’t going to make the Off road package have all the Gucci things. And they aren’t going to redo the production of mass parts just for a specific variant
The Hemi was updated from 360HP to 395 in 2016...that still has it at best in class... You can get the 6.2 liter in the Silverado but you're going to get terrible gas mileage. Why would you want $1500 power running boards on a truck thats primarily marketed as an off road truck. When you run them through a stream or destroy them with dirt or dust, you're going to complain about that and lastly I've had Google maps and Waze send me to the wrong place many times.... Have a great day!
I agree I like the automatic running boards because they give more clearance. To be honest I would remove them and have no boards at all if it wasn't because of my wife and daughter and I'd like them to be able to get in and out with comfort. I am still testing the Navigation system and need to see how often it's updated but at that time it did fault me a couple of times. Always worth having backup in form of maps Google or smth else! Have a great weekend
@@Snowcatsrt The one thing I've noticed on the Ram Nav is you can be in the same county for example that has 2 of the same street names in 2 different towns and end up in the wrong place, Ive had that happen once but I noticed later it's pretty specific to the town if you do a search. My biggest gripe with the Nav is it isn't specific to a street side or if it's an industrial park it just says OK here is the building the rest is up to you ... Otherwise I seem to prefer the factory nav and have Waze running on Android Auto for police and accidents. I just spent 500 bucks today for the oem step rails and they look great on the new body style. I can understand why they wouldn't be an option on the Rebel though. Thinking about it further, you could do serious electrical damage to the entire truck if you were to off road with electric step rails and end up in a water situation, it doesn't take much anymore with all of the computers.
Mike Badwolf this is one of the main reasons I DID not get the Rebel. I love the Rebel, but no cooled seats and all the red on the interior I couldn’t do it. Just going to add Duratracs to my Laramie and upgrade the suspension.

I'm not sure best to check out the configurator but lots of cars are missing out on options due to the capacitor shortage
I got a 2016 ram 5.7L (with 8speed) and I get 16.0+ mpg city which is a whole lot better then the 13.5 my friends 2013 ram 5.7 (with 6speed) gets. In my opinion it’s not a gas eater
I live in Bahrain and I was thinking of getting one, but I wanted to know how is their service center?
I haven't had too much trouble with the service center. Thankfully trucks are easy to work on
same issue with you concerning the backing up assist. it was slamming the brakes when I was backing up in my driveway. Disabled ASAP. Beside that I do love my RAM
I leave my rear parking sensor on because you never know that 1 time you don't have it and boom.
Why are the two mutually exclusive?
couldn't agree more. Maybe next year they'll add that option as it simply does not make any sense not having it. It's more money for them
That Ram is so SEXY! Awesome truck, I love the way those trucks look and the ride is un-real smooth.
Oh yeah! They're the best trucks right now for sure
Snowcat_srt until they hit 100 000miles...
Snowcat_srt they are not real long lasting trucks.
you can connect your phone via cable and screen will mirror, using google maps from your phone. and also you forgot to mention that the lock door will pinch your arm and hurt you really bad!
Yeah that thing hurts so bad! Happened to friends riding with
How is the reliability on the truck?
Never had an issue. I think we will only find out after it's been out for 5 years.
For the backing-up park-assist braking, it’s the exhaust... The sensors sense the smog from the tips. Therefor, tricks the computer into thinking there’s something there...
Hey! That's good info right there thanks
#5 is a PAIN! I was trying to back in at a Drive-in movie theater... scared the crap out of me and is embarrassingly LOUD!
Great, informative video as usual! I'm going to buy a new Rebel next year and it's nice getting these videos. Dumb question, but can you use google maps on the big screen with android auto?
Thanks,
Bryan
Apparently you can but I can't get android auto to work so first I'll figure that out and then make a video about it
@@Snowcatsrt i heard that in order to use android auto u need a us google account by using VPN
I will try
@@Snowcatsrt can u for ios?
I love my 2019 BIG HORN RAM. Its fun to drive and the air shocks make it a smooth and quiet ride.
Nice one man
Your wrong on the horse power.. the 08 ram had 345hp and from 09 and up is 395hp
If you wanted a bit more hp and torque, you should have gotten the e-torque. It gives you a little boost when accelerating
Yeah but that's just from a stand still not overall HP unfortunately. It doesn't work like a true hybrid system although it is quite trick!
No matter what you say Ram is a beast
Its obvious why they don't offer power running boards for the rebel. BECAUSE IT WILL GET DESTROYED
No such thing as PERFECT... I got a 2018 & I have no problems with it
This is true
Fast, actual good info. Great presentation.
Thank you!
Do you have to be Emirati to own a truck or us outside citizen can own too?
In Kuwait only Kuwaitis can own a truck so I was wondering
@Mason Blackwell yea Kuwait is racist to us outside citizens they think if we buy pickup truck we will transport drugs 🤦🏽♂️
Good video buddy, just a recording tip for next time to use image stabilization specially for 60 fps, it's a little shaky
Thanks!
Sounds like you should've got a limited. Nice truck tho!
Idk where you live bro but at my dealership they have big horns with options you don’t have. Guess it depends on the dealership.
These options are specific to the Rebel. I like the look of this truck and the specs that are unique to it like the seats and the interior trim but choosing it you can't have cooled seats or the other things I mentioned which is ridiculous when most of the other variants can.
Bahrain is my spot! I will visit again soon. How's the A/C holding up? I have the 2019 Laramie.
It's alright so far dude. Just remote start before i leave and it's good
Going up hill is what messes up the backing up brake
Done it on flat ground we don't have too many hills here
Your Ram has a built-in phone holder right in front of the USB plug if you are driving a Rebel
There is a tsb for back up sensors see dealer mine does same thing haven’t taken in yet though
Add a turbocharger or a supercharger for the hp/tq...
Does the big screen have Apple car plat or android auto? I’m curious how it would look on that big ass thing lol
it does! It takes half of the screen while the other half is used for any other menu you like
I love the show off between your points !
My Lebanese wife wants a two tone white rebel. Shes coming from a range rover.
Nice! Ride isn't as good as an RR but the rest she should enjoy!
With all that it still rocks
My RAM has everything but a transmission dipstick😂 i still love the vehicle though.
400 hp is enough for me love my ram
Leo Bruneau this guys a moron. It started with 345 and now is almost 400 Horsepower...i would say thats an increase
@@honor4thoseb471 400HP is already overkill... Chevy 5.3 only has 355 HP
I have to buy one, with the eTorque Hemi and conpletely fully loaded.
Sweet video. What song is that in the beginning lol
Thanks for the video, now I hate the ram so much a rather get a Prius!! Thanks snowcat👍
I'm dead 💀🤣
And you are a bullshit.
I mean Pulsar did it
Its all good brother, you made me smile because I have a lead foot and then complain that I need to gas up again.
@@frankrandol7998 thanks for letting me know I'm not alone!
Then why u buy it?
No I have a 2017 ram with a hemi 5.7 engine and I get 17 18 to a gallon and it’s 4x4
I like how it smells
There's a few of these videos about "what I hate about my Ram". Well guess what folks, it's not things you hate, it's things you choose not to include with your order, you choose to take from the lot or you choose the model you did, for whatever reason.
If you are going to do a video about things that are annoying, talk about how the 12 inch Uconnect desperately needs an update due to failings in the system, or the A/C is not as cold as the 4th gens, or how expensive the WiFi is to have....I love my Ram Sport but the things described are mainly options you didn't get
Mainly options you can't get in the Rebel which is the version I wanted
This car is awesome! ❤️❤️👌👌👌😎
thanks for sharing..... the Rebel still looks of interest...… good info!
Just things I thought people should know since it is rightfully getting a lot of praise.
Warlock is all the cool stuff from the rebel with none of the cushy crap
Does your navigation work?
Works but not accurate
Did you really just complain that they didn’t add a few more horsepower then, in the very next breath, complain about the gas mileage? Really?
Can you tell me the name of the first bgm?
I'd like to know as well!
5 things I hate about my 2019 Ram 1500.... 1-5: It's always in the shop.. officially a lemon- can't expect much from FCA
Sorry to hear that.
15k and not a thing on my limited. Sorry to hear. What things?
Sounds like to me this guy did not do his research before purchasing.....
Keeping it real....good stuff
Nice video, background music is highly annoying though.
noted thank you for your feedback
Dodge RAM😈Looks like BISON 🐃
I needed this beacause I am looking for a ram 1500 rebal
Best of luck man!
Just got a 2020 Warlock, if you like the classic style it's definitely a sweet looking truck
If you don't mind how much it cost in Bahrain , thanks
كيف المكيف يالحبيب؟ يقولون ضعيف ومايبرد.
Great content!!!
Thank you!!
Good stuff to know, thank you !
Nobody drives a full size truck for gas mileage.
great point about the engine being the same.
Terron Knowles bad point because it has been updated with more horsepower now! Was 345 and now it’s 395
You Tube that’s fine if they increased the horse power.... but that doesn’t change the engine...
I have a Laramie sport with off-road package I have cooled seats lol
Mike Badwolf this is one of the main reasons I DID not get the Rebel. I love the Rebel, but no cooled seats and all the red on the interior I couldn’t do it. Just going to add Duratracs to my Laramie and upgrade the suspension.
jcollin810 that’s exactly what I did added rebel wheels and tires instead of the wildpeaks
Mike Badwolf yeah I’m adding duratracs and maybe new rims. Prolly a lift and some suspension upgrades too.
jcollin810 I saw the mopar lift comes with fox shocks so I’m going that route
Mike Badwolf same here probably
I’m about to buy one I’m like an hour
How did it go?
