  • GERMAN PRODUCTS WE CAN'T GET IN THE UK// Happy Tuesday, We hope you're all well! So many have asked to show what products we bought in Germany. So today we're showing you a tiny fraction of the things we bought in Germany that we can't get here in the UK. We're not saying that you can't get them in general, some products are available here from time to time. We're sharing German snacks but also products from drugstore and a pharmacy that we can't live without. Hope you enjoy. Kirsten & Joerg xx

As French What we first miss is cheese and may be pastry and finishing with a nice dessert at the restaurant, real bread sometimes, it depends in which country we are staying but usually local food doesn’t require bread 🥖 but I think it’s because tastes are recorded in our brain.

That’s what I like about traveling is finding the great regional products and foods!

We live in America, but a lot of relatives in many many past years of generations were from England, France and Spain. The food is past on from these country’s for generations. Who does not like trying different foods from different country’s? I do and many others. Keep making videos of cooking and different foods from your home country. We enjoy watching.

I was born in Germany and we immigrated to the States. I remember when my mom would go back to Germany, she would come home with a suitcase full of German products. I lived in England for a bit, as well. We have made it a tradition to drive 3 hours to St. Louis, Missouri and shop at the Global Market around Christmas. German food on one side of the aisle and British on the other side. Pure Bliss.

Really enjoyed this lovely video Kirsten and Joerg x 💝 you came home with a lovely selection of goodies, and it seems this was just the tip of the iceberg. Love your explanation at the end, as people who've never lived anywhere else maybe are a little narrow minded sometimes and don't understand how one can love living in a different country, and also can mistake ones affinity for things from our home country as our preference for that country. So you explained it well.
Enjoy your goodies. And yes it's a good idea to hide some away for Christmas 😊💜

Even if you can find the product sometimes the formulas are different to acomodate the local palate, it even happens with McDonald's and other food chains. Welcome back home!!! I remember the first time I went to New Brunswick Canada and they had roasted chicken flavored chips!!! We don’t have those in the US (at least not where I am from) and I love them. It’s so funny how when one travels, one discovers how different other countries and cultures are, even if they are geographically close by. I love that. Those paprika chips look good. 🤤

I did not know that Haribo was a German product. I love the Happy Cherry gummy candy. In America, some us like to dip those big stick pretzel in chocolate and drizzle with white or dark chocolate and add sprinkles or crushed peppermints or crushed candy bars on them and let them set up. The combination of the bready salty taste with the sweet chocolate is good. Thank you for showing us all your goodies, I know that they are all divine. Love these videos, Kirsten, Joerg. As one who has lived much of her life far from her childhood home, I feel comforted and relaxed when I revisit the unique foods and products of my country, especially as a child. When I lived in Damascus, Syria years ago, I made an entire Thanksgiving dinner for my international friends and neighbors (Brits, Danes, Dutch, Syrians) who never experienced a 20-pound roasted stuffed turkey, fresh cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie on the third Thursday of November. The joy and love were in the preparation and in the sharing at the table along with a prayer, song, or poem of thanks. They thought it was the most beautiful tradition (as, unlike Christmas where gifts are exchanged). Thank you for bringing this memory back to me! And I hope one year, you will make it back to Germany over Christmas holiday when we can see and be a part of the open air markets. So magical!

Hello you two charming German people. I really enjoy all of your videos and feast on them. I am French, but spent years in the UK and can relate to you when you say you love both countries. My brother has been living in Dusseldorf for years, and I go there to visit. I love chocolate Marzipan and Kirsh which is freely available in France, and even if I say so myself, I make a mean Black forest gateau with lashings of Kirsh. Your videos are very inspirational and I love going back with you to visit places where I went with my late English husband. We had a similar lifestyle to yours and lived in a Victorian villa in Richmond SW London that you visited in one of your videos. I loved this area, and even though I live in France now, I try to visit often as I still have a house near the wonderful park and feel that England is home.

We had those long matches in the US too; we used to use them to light a fire in our fireplace or to light a lot of candles at once since they took quite a bit of time to burn down. We get those tissues in purse-sized cellophane units in packs of ten of those. Americans call tissues Kleenex even though that is also a name brand. In the US we can get pretzels in every shape and size imaginable from thin sticks to traditional pretzel shapes in small ones like you have all the way up to hard to bite into beer pretzels, giant pretzel sticks dipped in chocolate, covered with nuts or sprinkles. This was lots of fun. We all like brands and flavors from our home states or nations. And we miss them because to us they mean "home". We enjoyed seeing all the cookie flavors in a huge mall near the Opera in Paris. It was hard to choose what to buy to take home with our limited suitcase space. You two are lucky you can load up a car. Living in Florida but me being a Pennsylvania girl, when we visit up north, we always load up on different items we can't get easily in Florida.

Yogurettes, Weinbrand Bohnen and Weleda products were always in my suitcase, as well! I also brought back Backerbsen, Fa soap, Nivea, and before they were so readily available here in the U.S., a few good Tomatenmesser! Thank you for all the videos of your trip. I hiked up to Hohenzollern many times in my youth. It has been 20 years since I have gone to visit, so seeing everything actually brought tears to my eyes.

You can buy Tempo tissues here in Italy easily. They are in Conad, Lidl, and IperCoop. I have to always carry some in my purse because sometimes public toilets are out of toilet paper haha. Of course they are useful for many other reasons. You would sleep like a baby in my village. It's completely silent at night. I'm the same with noise. My favorite earplugs are made from sanitized memory foam. They contour to the shape of your ear canal just like wax would. I remember wearing wax earplugs many years ago. I remember having to warm them in my hand first haha. Those chocolate brandy beans look delicious. When I was growing up in London UK (many years ago of course, I'm 73 now) a big treat at Christmas were the chocolate cordials, chocolates with actual liqueur and sugar syrup in the center. Mom and Dad would let us have one after dinner because it helped us get tired and go to bed earlier haha. Thank you for your fun video.

I know Tempo tissues is what others say it is most copied product of tissues and brand became now synonyms for tissues. In Great Britain, happened same with hoover for vacuuming. Weinbrandbohnen I get first in late teeny age not as small child or only one or two in year so, that I can not remind me.
