    Allways nice to learn something new.i play pirc every time with black pieces and not have lost many of them.unless you play with someone who knows this lines even better .thanks

    Is the Pirc Defense (pronounced Peertz) no longer considered a dubious opening?

      It’s perfectly sound, just not the sharpest response to 1.e4.
      You get positions with a lot of imbalances which can easily play to your advantage if you are more familiar with the transformations.

    I think the opening that can "beat" your opponent is King to e12, which is on your opponent's face.
