I suppose the level for this lecture is intermediate, if that's what you're asking, but that is really a subjective thing. I think players of any skill level or ability will gain some helpful information from this presentation. Enjoy!
i guess im asking the wrong place but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid forgot my login password. I would appreciate any help you can give me
@Rocky Matthias Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Akobian is my favourite lecturer from the club here his playing style is exactly the same as mine so it's perfect for my improvement. The only difference in play is his 850-900 rating points difference in strength. This guy is great!
I love Ben Finegold's comment at 2:39 from the audience. "Maybe it did work out for him. Maybe you would have won in 25 moves if he played his usual stuff." The usual delightful snark, and Akobian didn't expect it. 😝
Great class and I love how Akobian teaches and engages with the audience and viewers (make sure you pause when he asks you a question so you can think of the best move too!) it was a bit too dense for me but I'm glad it's a video and I can keep on coming back to it for reference, there's no doubt that this is still an incredibly helpful video about the Czech Pirc 👍🏽
Honestly, at 1300, there's a lot of things you need to improve before you think of studying lines. You need to improve your general chess Understanding. So study tactics, and traps, CheckMate patterns and general opening principles. You'd have fun and you'd win more games.
In the last position from analysis (where the King travels to b2 for a win), I liked g5-g4. Preventing white even from making some luft with h2-h3. :) Although as GM A. said there is just so many ways to win that position.
at 9:20 would be bishop B4 be a good move? if they take your knight then you potentially earn a knight, a pawn, and a rook for your knight and bishop. if they dont take your knight then at least you moved you bishop to a threatening position.
On 56:37, a more precise way for black to win is to play ..g4, preventing white from playing h3. Then white only can move the c1 rook and the a pawn and the white king is stuck too. Then black can go all the way to b2 and win easier, like shown later or black himself can play h7-h5-h4-h3 winning as well.
The trap that is shown is unclear to me. I don't see it. I take a knight rook and queen And he takes a bishop rook and queen. How do I execute the trap
I stop to analyze w/pos. at 46;18 and w look'd good attackin on g5...as I played it out w was able to create some really strong lines and put a great deal of pressure on you...but I'm no GM, I realy enjoy studying all the St.Louis CC videos w/GM Varuzhan,...he tell's the children to be quiet and raise their hands, LOL.....
Akobian is a great lecturer, my favourite. His students though are bad and they just seem to suggest random moves all the time. Around minute 19 they suggested, Bd8?!, Nxe4??, Nb6?? Cmon guys, pause and think a little before suggesting random losing moves
Every great chess class has that one self-centered student to announce incorrect answers with a gusto. It might make these classes more entertaining tbh.
My respect was lost when he tried to get a full pt in a tournament after his complaint about cheating but it was not. Only a hand writing. On the writing sheet. Should told the player to stop. Instead going to the arbiter.
He didnt try. He got the point. Rules are rules. So was given a warning but continued to do it. For all Akobian knew he could have been writing analysis. Wesley got his revenge on him later so stop crying.
Can anyone explain the trap to me, I cannot see where Black should gain an advantage. After bishop g4 white just moves his queen to d2. After that any exchange won't end up in an advantage for black.
Julian Köhne If Qd2 Rxd1+, Qxd1 Bxd1 Kxd1 and Black is up 1 minor piece for a pawn which he can easily recapture on c2 (Black has two Knights and a Bishop wheras White only has 2 Bishops).
+Nicholas Cerino GM Akobian is incorrect when he says "Take on d1, take on h1,". After analysing all the moves for the white queen, it becomes quickly apparent that she has nowhere to go, and it is impossible for white to give up the two rooks in exchange for a queen. If Qd2, see my previous reply. If Qf2, Rxd1#. Qf3 and Qxg4 both give up the queen, and Qf1 gives up the queen after Rxd1+ where black is two minor pieces up after recapturing the queen.
The good thing about these lectures of Akobians seems to be, that he gets to a really advanced level with very understandable arguments.
These videos help me so much. When I forget all the tactics I watch these videos again and start winning.
Var Akobian is an extremely good teacher. Clear and logical!
This guy makes positional chess look like fun. This a first for me. Great presentation!

@Rocky Matthias it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much, you really help me out!
@Vincent Ari Glad I could help =)
I keep coming back to this video. That's how instructional it is for me. I would give my left arm to have GM Akobian as my personal coach.

:O you're around 3500?? can you beat komodo?

This one lesson singlehandedly threw everything I know about the chess out of the window

Very clear and great annotations!
This intro is still a banger after all these years.
That game was illuminating the ideas behind the Czech Pirc! :)
please , i beg you, keep posting! Thank you very much
Master Akobian is a great teacher. I especially enjoy(ed) his endgame lessons.
Best chess lecture ever!
his positional knowledge is masterful
as always....I really enjoy Var's video's
Is it better to play the openings in many games or study the lines before playing the games? Im having a real hard time improving past 1300.

Thank you so much for this video, very educational
Thanks for the great lesson
Great job ,congratulations about that !
The class in this video had some pretty good guesses. I wonder what was their average rating.
Great opening...I will use this Var
I'm new to this Channel. I'm really enjoying Mr Akobian's lectures.
Sir please put videos in pirc czchc defense
Beautiful analysing

White goes Bd2 and no threats
Or even if they do take the knight, youll be down the exchange by -1
Great lecture
Sensational illustration of GM thinking.
INteressting , my favorit opening 👍😊
Czech speaks for itself. Actually there is a new German Chessable course on the Czech ("Tschechisch") available, also the Short&Sweet version.
Akobian is the best lecturer
noob question: could anyone kindly explain the trap at 12:45? :(
If the Queen moves, rook takes Knight is checkmate
On 56:37, a more precise way for black to win is to play ..g4, preventing white from playing h3. Then white only can move the c1 rook and the a pawn and the white king is stuck too. Hi, in my opinion after Ng5 f6 Nd2 Re8 for white is better Rfe1.....
sir please teach more games in philonder defense
What about 5. Qf3.... can you elaborate? That is supposed to be one of the more aggressive responses.
Please create playlists for different themes and levels.
How to get to the notes of that game and others.
If Finegold is in the audience😳 I'm right to be watching this
in 24:39 you could play Ng4 thretening h2 then if he moves e5-e6 you could mate him
You go Ng4, black goes h3
Or Ng3 when needed
Or Bf3
30:40 white can play not 1.Bg5 but 1. Ng5 g6 2.Bd2 it is more active
You can take the knight right away with your bishop, or even at the emd of your line exchange bishops and attack queen with light square bishop
He really is good I learn a lot
The trap that is shown is unclear to me. I don't see it.
I take a knight rook and queen
And he takes a bishop rook and queen. How do I execute the trap
Look again. He takes two rooks.
Lakshmi.....How? Please. I give up.
13:08 Akobian politely answers one of those Howdy Y'all thinkers.
is he always showing his own games?
I stop to analyze w/pos. at 46;18 and w look'd good attackin on g5...as I played it out w was able to create some really strong lines and put a great deal of pressure on you...but I'm no GM, I realy enjoy studying all the St.Louis CC videos w/GM Varuzhan,...he tell's the children to be quiet and raise their hands, LOL.....

Is this about the Pirc, or about the psychology of playing an opening? Who knows. But, if you do decide to do a vid on the Pirc, I'll have a look.
Prophylaxis..."no counterplay"... sacrificing the exchange...you can tell Var studied at Petrosian's chess school!
Nice game
great guy!
Who are you?
What if he just takes ur pawn on e5? Looks like a no brainer for ne
very good!
❤
at 18:44 it's funny how the value of the knights are better than the bishops. maybe even as much as a rook here
So you did not ask for the arbiters help to win the game?
nice game
What I hate about the audience here is they immediately spill out their answers without even thinking or pausing,
Every great chess class has that one self-centered student to announce incorrect answers with a gusto. It might make these classes more entertaining tbh.
Better than 7... Bg4 is Nbd7

If there is no engines i think u dont know wats best !!!

+Julian Köhne black is up a rook
@@Imakunipwns you don't have to move the queen though.
It's not checkmate. After all of the exchanges. Black will be up one piece.
The flippant napkin biomechanically remove because authority partially shelter unlike a elfin spot. thankful, warm tugboat
I used the czech pirc against a black african guy and won with it. He was vemry amgory! :)
Hilarious
Nice lecture but the people around are truly not worthy of that :P
