Rest in Peace Chick Corea. You are a Legend and will never be forgotten.!!
He entered the Forever world...
You all probably dont care at all but does anyone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?
I stupidly lost my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
@Leonel Kellan Instablaster ;)
@Maximilian Cassius I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im in the hacking process atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Maximilian Cassius It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thanks so much you saved my account!
Return to Forever Chck, your music will go on 4evr
Return To Forever is the greatest Fusion Band to Surface Planet Earth.... Can't Touch This,,,
This band is awsome, I was listening to this group when i was in highschool, Everybody else was listening to ac/dc. To each there own.
Both great bands!
Just curious, what you ended up doing for a living?
I listen to both, and graduated high school in 2013 haha
Me too
Guess you are so smart and the rest stupid right?
Like Ponys says both great in there own genre.
Listening to this band always makes me want to practice my keys more. They have always been a phenomenal band....saw em twice...been a fan since 74.
What a band !!!!!
Romantic Warrior, my favorite album. Everyone playing to perfection
WITHOUT A DOUBT @@georgetaladriz1911
Lov e u georgio
Paisano
What a TRIP! right? 😂
I missed this tour in '08, but I was lucky enough to see them in '76 on the Romantic Warrior tour. Incredible night. Not only were they on fire, but Stevie Wonder came out and jammed with them for their encore. They played 'Superstition.' I would have died happy that night.
I always loved Lenny's open-hand playing. If I was a drummer, I'd want to play in his style.
got a few broken bones at 54 yrs old but would give my life to see my ultimate inspiration RETURN TO FOREVER,
The depth that Clarke's bass imparts to Corea's piano along with the rhythm of Lenny on drums and DiMeola on guitar 🎸 is breathtaking... These are the times I feel happy about the human race.
Chick will return spirits like his goes on forever.
Rest in peace corea you are my best teacher and my inspirasion.
RIP Chic Corea!
I saw these guys back in the mid 70's. What a wonderful treat to see them reunited.
Biggest fan of RTF since 1970. Saw them last year and now am forever reminded of Zappa plays Zappa who warmed them up and knocked my socks off. Great live band. Tight as the old man.
The great LENNY WHITE on drums!!
He is AWESOME
"great" is apt,here.Maestros,all.
Lenny does so much leading-left. Is he left-handed playing a right-handed drumset?
@@BradWatsonMiami -Yes.
@PINK LLOYD Love Lenny White and Cobham (solo and with Vishnu).
Had the presence of mind at a tender young age back in 1977 to see Return to Forever at the Hill Auditorium on the University of Michigan campus in AnnArbor, MI. Unforgetable.
I grew up on this music. We will miss you Chick Corea!
'Romantic Warrior'. Still listenin' to it. Timeless.
This is what I call a Super Group. Like the 90's Dream Team.
The technical proficiency here is off the charts.
Was blessed to see the band many times in SoCal, including the incredible 20 year reunion show at the Gibson! No words describe the talent & presence of Return to Forever. RIP Chic.
Amazing doesn't even begin to describe these guys....
50 yrs sounding as good as ever. Awesome musicians🌈🌈🌈⭐⭐
My generation's Jazz Super Group - at the top for more than 30 years!
I could listen to this all day. This would have been around the same time I saw them in London. I'll never forget that gig! Bucket list ✔️
Can't give this a thumbs up...enough times!!!
This set made me dig out the original LP "Where have I Known You Before" - LOVE IT!
was für ein guter Bassist hat mich sehr als Vorbild geprägt,da ich seit 1973 mit Bass angefangen habe und Helmut von Kraan der Bassist
One of the best bands ever. Still amazing! 👍
Rip Chick corea
My Teacher my Mentor
I love you Jazz clasik
What a great snare sound Lenny has there.
Everyone can be a musician but good how that (guys) not so many, thanks for sharing, I love jazz.
Sorry for the dislikes, forgive them they don't know what is excellent music 😁
3 of the best together! CLASSIC.
KRE Berkeley Lives! What an era we were so lucky to experience.
How lucky we are for these great concerts.
In the Moments, pure Poetry!
I haven't heard this in years...what a great sound... thanks for sharing!!
Best show I saw in my life
I have to say that for me, it is so easy to follow Stanley. Really, there is a great logic to Stanley's playing (after you listen to him for a while especially!
Al is tearing it up as usual here....wow!
RIP Brother you are not gone forever you have RETURNEDTO FORVER!!!!
Al is one of the greatest guitar players alive and probably one of the greatest that has ever played guitar. The entire group has not been together for three decades. Al hasn't played with Chic for 20 years, you really cant expect the same chemistry to magically re appear.
THIS LINE UP...FROM OUTER SPACE!!!!!!
Been listening to these guys for over 40 years and they still shine like stars…I just sit and listen…WOW !!!
don't forget the cigar if you do smoke some and a nice glass of Drambuie. :)
ME TOO!!
Pure madness!
Still my favorite fusion band all time to watch and listen. I always learn something new.
@Andy Butler Well sure. And we could go on and on for days about that.
Them and Mahavishnu orchestra are the 2 best for sure.
@Andy Butler I swear I seen jerry Goodman on Violin or whichever one that was and Billy Cobham on drums and John McLaughlin on Guitar play some things Live that still literally are more complex and deep and just insane then even some of the more crazy complicated parts by Dream Theater or something its crazy man, have you heard You Know you Know any live versions? cause those in particular some of them Goodman and Cobham just go insane.
Mann, was habe ich diese Formation in meiner Jugend gehört. Einfach super.
Fu...ing awesome!! Their second set is one landmark tune for Return To Forever. I only miss JL Ponty...
I am blessed to have seen return to forever and weather report and al and chick and Tony williams stanley. cobham the best at keystone stone corner san Francisco and many other greats gone but never forgotten. Amen
Four jazz greats, one hellova, band. Many magical moments. Return to Forever. Simply fantastic.
Fantastic.
5:11 Chick to Al: “Ok, shut up, let me do my shit”
+Juan P That reflects well the global mood of the band for the rebirth, no real passion or interaction between musicians, only business matter. Chick is way too loud in the mix, playing all the time, so boring. I love Chick, but he can be a real jerk!!!
Lucien Henry disagree, I think it was a good concert.. Chick is not a jerk, he just knows his thing very well, so sometimes he'll be hard on others.
+Juan P They are all good friends I hear. They are probably just having a laugh with each other in my opinion. If Chick said it to me Id let him have his solo but then after he;s had his moment let my guitar do the talking..... keyboard players cant do hammer ons they have to use portmento!! LOL
I actually look at that with admiration. First that chick has the balls to do that. Second that if chick was willing to do that it's because he takes music so seriously. He is not there just to make bucks, he cares about the public and the performance.
+Juan P Exactly.
best jazz fusion band ever. Saw them in Germany. lenny White the drummer came out near the end of the first set and said you have heard of the boy bands. Well this is a mans band !!!!! and this is true. Their compositions emulate the greatness of jazz. Great musicianship, pushing the boundaries, challenging the audience to understand and then playing the note that touches you and you never forget. That is Return to Forever .....
All the Miles progeny formed great fusion bands... Mahavishnu Orchestra, Weather Report, RTF, Tony Williams Lifetime. Can't say one is better than the other... If I had to I would go with Weather Report... There's no Wayne Shorter in RTF. Luckily I saw all those bands in the 70s in LA.
Charles Fleeman voilà ce que j'appelle la bonne preche
STEWART REYNOLDS But that's where fusion screws up. You can assert your greatness without demeaning others.
STEWART REYNOLDS Saw them live as well & agreed..
Aggromerchant That's about as oxymoronic as one can get.
all four are masters. i only got to see them once. small theatre. i could taste the music. quite heavenly!
Probably the best Jazz Fusion Band ever 🌴🌴
@Andy Butler ya got me there 🌴🌴
THE MASTERS I cut my musical teeth on this stuff in the 70's. I leared a lot about drummung from Lenny and Cobham. My two favs were Mahavisnu and RTF and I got to see them both with their ORIGINAL lineups
discovered this MARVELOUS tune THIS YEAR 2019,WHERE HAVE I been,??? STILL refreshing, timeless, in THIS MARVELOUS MYSTERY CALL LIFE......
Miss u brother !! Thanks for the beautiful music ! It lives on 4ever !
Best fusion group ever.
RTF: Romantic warrior - this lp opened my eyes (and ears) - turn me away from Kiss and Alice Cooper and toward progressive jazz and fusion. The year - 1974 - 75.
+Harold Terranova (HaroldT101) can you recommend me more music like that?
+Luca Moscetta Thank you for asking. Each person in this band have solos, so look for stuff from them. Weather Report, Jeff Beck, While different, check out Gentle Giant. Also, check out my Progressive list in my channel. Harold
R Moocher2 Indeed! Herbie Hancock's Head Hunter. Great stuff. I'm surprised I did not mention Mahavishnu. And lets not forget Jean Juc Ponte.
+Luca Moscetta Yes, Gentle Giant indeed. How bout Zappa and the Mothers around 1973 live in Brussels or somewhere in Europe. When he had both Fowlers, Ponty, Duke and Underwood. It's on youtube here, it's live and phenomenal!
+Luca Moscetta Hiromi Uehara, Jazz Pistols,The Jeff Lorber Fusion (no longer together), Tribal tech tones; Bels fleck and the Flecktones,. Just to name a few
I could just watch these Monster Masters of Music play forever!
watching Lenny white is real treat.....
great musicians!the way they talk to each other, fantastic!
It amazes me that someone can post a clip of the greatest jazz musicians in the world playing together and people will still somehow find a lot to complain and snipe about. (Proclaiming how "terrible" it is, calling the musicians "out of shape," etc.) Certainly all musicians will have their better and worse days, or the ensemble might not totally "click," but come on people... Just about all of us posting here couldn't hope to make it even close to the level of any of these musicians in our lifetimes, and if you think you have, you probably need a reality check. And its not like those of us who are jazz listeners don't already know the styles, abilities, and proclivities of the participants. Just enjoy it, take what you can from it, and/or move on.
+muhrvis THANK YOU!!
Totally with you. Its like watching the aurora borealis and moaning about the cold..... I mean WTF. The 'gravity' of these players would pull a black hole in......
goes to show if these so called musicians today had the influence from these guys we would, not be listening to shit on radio
Really can’t be matched in this genre
@@fathead5081 👌😘
I was just in complete awe after that guitar solo.
Back in college as a sophomore at UNC-W in '74, I went to a party held by music department buddies. I was in marine biology on the 'see-weed' diet. Saw it, liked it, smoked it. Someone put 'Sorceress' on, and my world turned upside down. Up until then, it was Yes, CSNY, America, etc. (still like 'em). But from that night onward, I was addicted to Fusion and then most post swing jazz and lots of stuff from Brazil. But 'Sorceress' started the ball rolling for me.
For the record, that's DiMeola... As in virtuoso Guitar player Al DiMeola...
These were the days! Underlying soulfulness met electronics, and it exploded! Thanks for posting.
Stanley Clarke is a "Master Musician" which enables him to play, on, around, behind, beside and any which way he desires in reference to Pulse, Tempo or Beat.....and all things musical and beyond...RESPECT !!
Dude he is indeed sloppy in spots and that slop is a direct result of over playing.I don't think being a "master musician" allows him to be behind or early on the beat that many times in one gig.Yes SC is a god and that God has an ego the size of Cleveland that most definitely compromises the music in spots.
ehhh... you made this excuse up for Him, yet, we wont buy it.
MrMajar9 Behind and in front of the beat is generally recognised as adding to music when done skilfully as SC does here. I'd say that SC is also an excellent composer and arranger too.
vboy13:
Oh, what an inspired and expert comment!
Do not try to "think" because you need a brain for that and run for your life whenever the word art is mentioned, for art is obviously lethal for you...
Kind of jealous, aren't we now? The only slop you know is located between your two ears...oops, excuse me, I forgot you have no ears at all, and not even a head for that matter...your entire persona consist of your ass and in some inexplicable way you managed to stick what was once your tiny head inside it and it stayed there, so when you try to say something, all that comes out is ... pure fart ... who do fuck do you think you are, you blind, deaf and dumb asshead, to give opinion about somebody's "ego" and "compromises"? With your cognitive abilities, go to some garbage dump where you belong and give your esteemed remarks to that garbage about being allowed to be "behind or early on the beat" and rearrange that garbage so that it is "in spots" "that many times in one gig". And pay attention that garbage does not suffer as "a direct result of over playing"...
It will always puzzle me why for every true artist there have to be literally millions of morons out there...
Saw this is Syracuse, NY - Kansas City, MO - Wichita, KS and Denver, CO - all in 1977 ... amazing - in Syracuse I was sitting on the floor of the school cafeteria five feet away from Stanley ... he was HUGE all night!
i remember when I first heard this back in 1969-72 days. and it is still the best i have heard.
Fantastic! Thanks very much for posting this!
Was stunted by the musician's virtuosity of this album in '76 and still amazingly blasted by their talent in 2022. RIP Chick.
What wonderful music
gotta return to forever every once in a while,
sooooo much talent it is fricken crazy!! This talent will never coma again.
One of the most talented classical jazz groups in my lifetime ... Return to Forever; what a nice set of words.
Wonderful music and vituosos… timeless
just got done listening to a recording from this tour, 2008-06-14 - mind blowing how good they still are even in middle/late age, how fluid. chick was 67, stanley was 57, the acoustic piano and upright bass solos following romantic warrior are otherworldly
Long live Chick Corea
I love how at 5:13 Chick Corea makes a gesture to Al Di Meola to shut up.
And then later he adds hideously ugly synth noises behind Al's solo.
What great sounding ride
First saw these four in the mid-'70s. Best 4 person concert I ever have seen. All great musicians.
I saw this tour, at Hollywood bowl. Stevie Wonder dueled with Chick. The whole show was the greatest musical experience of my life.
I'm glad to see that this has over a million views!
Mister this a top notch jam!!!!!!!
What a major performance, what a symbiotic brilliance, what a treat for your ears and mind. A-game !
All time favorite forever and ever!
Excelent musicians playing jazz....Nice and... SOVIÉTICO!!!!
if it helps:
1 Vulcan Worlds 13:06
2 Sorceress 10:55
3 Space Circus 5:02
4 Al's Solo 7:34
5 Chick's Solo 8:38
6 The Romantic Warrior
love the finish on Al's signature PRS
Speechless! Return to the good music. Forever last. Cool. Great post
Just amazing in every way possible... There is one point where Al is playing so fast that it actually seems like the tape is being sped up.... LOL... Just an amazing band!
First time I heard these guys was back in 1974. Amazing to see them together again.
cool, I didn't see chic live until 1977
Most people listening to this will have been conditioned by 30 second commercials and half hour sitcoms and won't have the attention span needed to take it all in. This is a music that requires undivided attention to be able to take it in properly. Stanley Clark is awesome with his laid back ambiance. There isn't anything to say about AlDiMeola that hasn't already been said, and the same can be said for the rest too, cant it? Fucking awesome in every way.
Have the dvd return to forever returns fantastic sesion,, i cant get bored with it!!!!
This is good, but go back and watch the same group/lineup in 1974-75 lol.I'm 64, saw them back then, and I can tell the difference.
True. I saw them live around 74-76 in Philly. Just to see if they could play this music live. They played the entire album note for note.
correct, saw them in a small theater at princeton univ, 1974, much better.....
Flipping heck that guitar play strums along effortlessly with mucho precision.
Hi Guys, Had this album, Played it to death... Who remembers WRVR....was one of the greatest Jazz station. The radio station change formats and that was the end of jazz in the 70's.. Many people cried, and staged mass demonstrations.. Chick Corea, Little Feet so many greats fell to the wayside ...
Can't beat this ,these guys were amazing back in the day ,and they're still amazing ,they,ve all got to be in their 60's now and they,re still playing this good? amazing musicians
Discovered these guys back around the mid 70s I think it was. Will always remain one of the premier ensembles in my opinion!!!!
Lenny White will bring his own drums.I love Lenny's playing.
these guys still just blow my fucking mind
