People complaining about Hewit’s attitude is somewhat justified, but at least you could never question his commitment. Always gave 100% and fought to the bitter end
I remember that Nalbandian had beaten him in that series and said: "que paso con hewitt hoy? Se cago eh", translated it would be something like "he shit himself today", but Hewitt was always provocative with Argentina after this, in 2006 also for the Davis Cup played in Buenos Aires and when he came he brought his personal guard arguing that it was a dangerous country when in reality no one here recognized it 😂
Coria seems pretty cool and Hewitt like an unlikeable spoiled brat. Maybe there was more that happened that was cut out of this video but Hewitt seemed like an unlikeable person.
L. Hewitt was a dreadful sportsman and role model dor young people, equal to G. Coria, who, I was once told by two Argentinians, nobody liked even in Argentina. Sadly, Australians will often embrace a player like Hewitt because of his poor behaviour on court. The Australian public, by and large, have no issue with N. Kyrgios, for example. Hewitt and Coria had not dissimilar games; Hewitt attacked more than Coria, though, which got him over the line in this match. Unlike Hewitt, Coria really did fade into obscurity, especially once D. Nalbandian became Argentina's great (and far more respected) champion.
I don't think both players Hewitt and Coria can even make a point against the top 5 of today. The players of today are just beast on the court, the power and the accuracy alone is just phenomenal.
The next day Nalbandian refused to play Hewitt’s antics game and proceeded to destroy him in straight sets.
Destruction was Wimbledon 2002 final

Hewitt being the brat he always was.
It was a very good match. Two great players.
Just an emotional, high-stakes match. Davis Cup atmosphere. Yes the Argentinians disliked Hewitt. But nothing unfair going on here.
What a jerk Hewitt always was.
Of course.
Yeah, but it’s not his fault. Just the way he is. Don’t hate
@@jpants5144 Not his fault? He's hypnotised into being a jerk or what? I don't get it.
And please don't bring your hate here.
.....and then Roger Federer came to end his short stint of tennis dominance.
It made the tennis world a better place.
he was never really dominant : 5 big torunaments in 2 years. Djokovic won more in 2016 and was not even a dominant player
Glad Roger and Novak stopped Hewitt and his arrogance
Courts got slower, tennis balls bigger & racquets allowed for more spin. In 2002 conditions Hewitt beats those guys!!
8:46 good overrule from Carlos Ramos the replays after shows he was right
Well, it was very cordial at the net, good intensity during the match, good stuff.
Después nalbandian le dió un paseo y argentina se quedó con la serie
Hewitt on grass - that’s just a tough matchup for Coria.
@Don-rl1smHewitt won Wimbledonin 2002
@Don-rl1sm 🤡
Australia lost 1-4 Davis cup tie. Even though grass court. Commonnnnn.

Que buenos eran estos dos...What a 2 great players.
Back in days of davis cup (not some fake team event tour stop), normal size players & true grass courts..

I won't trust any of the titles on this channel again
Ostapenko "Amateurs..."
Never liked Hewitt, I was proud of Juan Ignacio Chela, few years ago, spit on Lleyton during a changeover!
i agree...never liked hewett.
Yet no reason for spitting on someone…
3:04 🤣🤣🤣
Il y a un moment où certains joueurs confondent "gagner pour son pays" et "gagner une guerre". Pas sympathique, Hewitt.

I used to like Hewitt but when I watched his racist slurs against black players and black line umpires, he was over for me.
I don't believe! How disgusting!
The main thing is that if you are from the west you can get away with. If he was say from Russia he would be demonised and hounded into retirement.
When was that? How terrible.

If they ever film the movie about Coros, Mark Wahlberg should play him

theirs a reason for that .show some respect
Balls, courts, and racquets are all different now. Back then tall players who relied on spin would struggle.
Coria one of the most disliked players on the tour. Made personal, sexist comments about WTA players.
Who's Coria? A tennis player without class and good manners.

Hewitt 🤙😉
