Why I still come to watch.

While Edberg, McEnroe & Sampras were incredible volleyers they weren’t in the same level as Federer in terms of variation of what he could do with the ball especially when you factor in the huge difference in both ball speed and spin involved compared with when wooden rackets were used. If you watch a match when they were playing it was like slow motion and body conditioning fitness wasn’t even close to nowadays. Today’s tennis players are some of the fitness athletes in the World.

Federer the freaking GOAT

I've been around a while, and the best net game I've ever seen was McEnroe. Bonus points for McEnroe for looking like he wasn't even trying or had any idea what he was doing. How did he serve in that ridiculous way and even get to the net?

Another aspect that is not mentioned a lot about Federer is his smash volley where he takes the ball in mid-air / mid flight and use that forehand smash (upper chest to lower hip height)... Rather than let the ball bounce. Yet to see any other player Do this with as much consistency and great results as him!!

There were quite a few better natural net artist-technicians - Edberg, Mcenroe, Rafter.... - but Roger had a way superior all-court game and his talent was almost unparalleled. And, so, in the end, you can put him in the same bracket as those greats

Just no words. Federer is the real GOAT. It is doubtful whether we may see a player like him in near future. It is a shear pleasure watch him play.
