I expect the camera work is to make the kid seem better than he is. He's certainly talented, but probably makes a lot of mistakes. Patrick obviously isn't trying too hard.
I'm 4:31 into the video... It's the IQ for me, the way he picks his shot shows a lot of thought process behind. He is aware that his 11 year old body isn't fully developed and lacks power, and court coverage... Which led him to develop a much more strategic game, the way he picks his shots based on opponent's positioning, the way he uses the lack of power or a slower ball to counter your movement, he makes you move weirdly throughout the court and then finishes you off. And the best part is that he is aware of all of it, which makes me believe that he will continuosly improve. The only point in his career that I could see him struggle is to adjust his game while his body develops and gets more power, which is a problem that all the players face, and still have to worry about all the knowledge and awareness this kid already have. Thank you Patrick for showing us this amazing talent!
Hey guys great video so far I'm about 3:40 into the video, the shots are cool, and I definitley appreciate it as a videographer and video editor, but as a tennis viewer the edits are really jarring and distracting. The perspective change is too quick for something of this caliber. It may seem like you're overdoing it with all the angle change. I highly recommend two static shots in the back courts. And then one person with a tele lens on the side lines. It's ideal to change angle inbetween points, but in between each stroke is a bit too much. A tennis game will be interesting to those that enjoy tennis and should therefore not be overcomplicated. I know that the critique can sound harsh, but I do appreciate the effort by the videographer and editor to change up how tennis lessons is viewed online though! So, points for the effort :D
You’re absolutely right. I just skipped ahead to the next section with more watchable editing. People overdo things sometimes and it takes away from the tennis.
Been following him and his brother for a couple of years now and this kid is getting better and better!!! Its great that he has continued his progression!!! Hope his brother is as good!!! Hope they make it to top 10!!!! Long long way 🙏🙏🙏🙏
He has an incredibly potent and beautiful one-handed backhand. Glad that the one-hander is still being taught, developed, and used as a true weapon and not just a placeholder. I’m sure we will be seeing more of him down the road.
@@methylphosphatePOET backhand of Tsitsipas is the worst one handed backhand we saw in the top 10, speak about Thiem/Wawrinka the only two player excpet Murray who can compete against BIG 3, and together this beautifull backhand, the nightmare of Djoko is one handed backhand far away fron normal backhand..
Thanks for another great video. Could I suggest that you please stick with one camera angle during a rally? Switching cameras every time the ball is hit makes it difficult to watch. Leaving the camera on one side of the court makes it easy to watch. I always enjoy your full length videos. Thank you for all your tips.
That's what I keep saying: Thank's to the internet. All the Tutorials from various tennis pros. All the Videos, normal speed and slow motion, on every shot.
I'm not surprised he is teaching himself. A kid from Japan with a one-handed backhand? That's great to see. Great natural timing talent and creativity. Hope we hear about him in 6 or 7 years.
Man I hope one of these young kids still brave enough to learn the OHBH makes it. I think Taylor Dent's son around the same age also has a one-hander. Would love to see it continue (even if in small numbers) at the highest levels of the game.
it makes a lot sense that young kid with a lack of power to have long loopy swing in wta style. I am thinking perhaps i might have it done wrong to teach my son ATP compact style at 11. He's 12 now and he's got pretty good modern forehand.. but he is kinda struggling with timing and high balls sometimes and i wonder if modern atp style has a little to do with it instead of a long loopy take back... what's your thought coach.
I can see how the kid developed an almost western grip to deal with rival's high balls. Due to his actual height, every ball may seem high to him, but that will change in the near future. Great technique on both strokes!
Amazing. Just curios whats going on with the one hander? I mean hes amazing with it but is it worth it in todays game? And whats the deciding factor at this level to go 1 or 2?
The kids good for an 11 year old howeber the jump from 15 when i played nationals and top 8 in state to professional is like a huge ocean time will tell
naah.. if you have perfected your technique at such a young age, you can focus on learning game strategy and mental development much sooner as well and that'll make huge difference
For the boy’s take back, which goes beyond the line of his body i.e. like how the WTA players (e.g. Naomi Osaka) do it instead of how the ATP players’ take back is entirely on the right side of his body, is it a concern at this age?
Remarkable skill must be augmented with size, speed, and power to make a dent at the highest levels. If he's destined to add these to his skill and smarts, we may see him excelling on the ATP tour.

This is what every coach says. They always totally believe they have the next Federer. But theres 2 000 000 coaches in the world and 2 000 000 young prodigy
All the " PAT THE DOG " advocates will say his forehand backswing in too big! And hopefully his one hander won't be a liability when he turns pro, like Tsitsipas's one hander which gets picked on. Amazing talent by this young player' 👏 👍
Unless Reita has Shohei’s genetics, he will end up like Michael Chang. Michael Chang dominated Pete Sampras in juniors. Then genetics kicked in and Michael Chang simply couldn’t compete. At least he won the French once
If you’re going to move the camera around(I don’t like it) at least use a gyro stabilizer so it doesn’t look like a magnitude 9 earthquake just hit the coast of Japan and created a massive intercontinental tsunami on the court
"The future is not ours to see", as an old song says. The kid looks amazing now, but maybe his interest changes in a few years, he maybe doesn't reach height of 1.75 meters, which is a minimum for a top player in modern tennis. My return of serve
balance while hitting a stroke with the shoulders guiding de racket
Consistency and IQ during matches. And looking at the contact point on FH ans BH, without peeking.
Consistency on my one-handed backhand.
healing! 3 years with tennis elbow (on both arms, 2H backhand), been playing on and off
Patrick…you are such a good coach because you know how to get the most out of your students with positive affirmations…positive encouragements…
I can't watch this- the camera is moving way too much. Please set the camera in one place to record whole court. This little boy is very talented!!
Tennis doesn't belong to you if this is too fast.
Agree. Camera work and editing is AWFUL.
C´mon! Don´t complain about everything... You can watch at 0,5x. You can repeat the video. Be creative.
No man... That's just poor editing.
I expect the camera work is to make the kid seem better than he is. He's certainly talented, but probably makes a lot of mistakes. Patrick obviously isn't trying too hard.

I totally agree. I think the camera work on these videos is the work camera work on all of RUclips.

Love that he has a 1-hander. Will look for this kid in the juniors in 5 maybe 4 years
He'll be hitting two handers by the time he's 15.
He has an incredibly potent and beautiful one-handed backhand. Glad that the one-hander is still being taught, developed, and used as a true weapon and not just a placeholder.
I’m sure we will be seeing more of him down the road.
The one-handed backhand is incredibly weak, and players who fixate on it are always overpowered at the highest levels--Tsitsipas being one of them,

God bless this kid. He has such a potent one handed backhand
Beautiful, but the next Novak will destroy him.
@@citizenjane1129miguel, don’t worry too much coz we r a few to think it was painful to watch.
Absolutely amazing ... and above all, he is playing a single-handed back hand 😎
Got dizzy after watching this for 2 minutes - mad camera
I´m worried. Are your OK?
Same
That's what I keep saying: Thank's to the internet. All the Tutorials from various tennis pros. All the Videos, normal speed and slow motion, on every shot.
He manages the court in such a mature way. Chapeau
The kid's technique is surreal for his age. If he keeps at it he has a chance to make it big
I'm not surprised he is teaching himself. A kid from Japan with a one-handed backhand? That's great to see. Great natural timing talent and creativity. Hope we hear about him in 6 or 7 years.
I also really like the tip about taking a step forward after hitting the ball. It is sort of like “finishing your turn” on the ski hill.
Patrick is better trainer than player - I still believe you are very good coach. This young boy plays nicely, would love to play with him. :)
he putting the ball easy for the kid
One hand backhand! I love him!!
he has nice skills for his age in the match! lot of focus....it's a pleasure to train a kid like that...
This kid's a powerhouse he learns at the speed of light

What The name of Taylor dent Son?
Nice to see one-handed back.
Hope this boy to be the successful player like Roger Federer.
Thumbs up for one handed backhand 😊
Amazing kid! Let's see if he can make the top one day! And best with Rune, let's get a grand slam this year!

Reita is back!
The kid's backhand timing is exquisite.
I'm overwhelmed by the difference in flexibilty. It's hard getting older :)
I can see how the kid developed an almost western grip to deal with rival's high balls. Due to his actual height, every ball may seem high to him, but that will change in the near future. Great technique on both strokes!
The camerawork is horrible, it’s difficult to see what the kid is doing if you keep moving the camera from him to Muratouglu.
Thats it!, this one gave me headaches! The simpler the better i think.
Cool to see an 11 Year old kid wih a one hand backhand these days👍👏🥳 good luck kid with the future 😊
I am so glad to see the kid plays a singlehanded backhand.
So much fun this video !
Good Lord that’s unwatchable. Started getting dizzy and motion sick before I was a minute in. I’m sure he’s very good, though. 😂

One handed backhand. ♥️
that editing is wild!!!! i lasted about 30 seconds of the match. I need to go to the bathroom and throw up now.
At 11 - 14 you can't tell how good they will be. It's at 16-18 is when you know if they can make it on the seniors tour.
Wrong, look at serena and Venus. There the dad was pushing this little guy is the boss.
Its not wrong what they do at 11-14 has zero bearing on how good they might be when there adults
@@rickyvic6937Woman are developing faster
I think it's the opposite. If they already know technique and how to play well at 11-14, and if they keep going, they will crush it at 16-18

No why? His OHB is natural
