That is a true statement. in many social deduction games you kill to confirm even if you think they might be on your team. Sometimes it's most important to just kill to confirm either you or the person you killed

Laurie has a HUGE tell. When he was the Kingpin, he was calm and quiet, with a determined, cool poker face. When he was a simple crooked or good cop, he was animated and very active in the conversing, accusing, and all around jokery. 😆😆😆
Don't worry Dom. You just have to wait 2 more episodes, then 3 prequel episodes, then another 3 episodes and you'll get your medal.

I love the idea of these good and bad cops coming together trying to find out who's on whose side, and immediately they are all pointing guns at each other before saying anything.
I love the headcanon that, after a dozen or more cases at his previous precinct went unsolved because everyone ignored him, Laurie finally transfers out and immediately goes deeply deeply crooked.

This was an absolute mess of a game, and an absolutely hilarious episode of BGC. And if there is one person who would be the kind of individual to be the Kingpin three times in a row.... well we all know exactly who that would be don't we?
They do have the signiture Kingpin hair and outfit going on, plus they are generally evil in games so I'd agree with that statement.
I hope y'all keep bringing Tilly back because she's fantastic. Good energy and quite humorous
Dom and Rosie have really taken over as my favorites. They also have the best episode of lord of the board.

Tilly's voices are amazing! How did they get such a great network of personalities to be part of NRB? My friends aren't nearly this much fun...
Having run a TTRPG youtube channel for a while so knowing how we recruited, and from the context cues of multiple of them being aspiring actors..... yeah you recruit from the local Uni either directly or through friends of friends. Not all acting students are good at improv (oh yeah, recruit improv people ideally) but they come with a lot of understanding about camera presence, audio levels etc etc.
Ahh yes, the pair that we've all been waiting for. A pair more powerful than Team SullyTom. Team Dolly.

Not at all surprised Sully had a gun pointed at him halfway through the first round of the first game, just surprised it wasn't Dom holding the gun

The "i saved you f'ing life" reminded me of the call of duty meme, the guy with the most damage, vs the guy with 5 damage but 7 kills. "We're equal!"
In retrospect:
Adam's card says the player who is shot is shot a second time; Laurie's equipment does nothing, and the Kingpen should've been killed immediately.
Watching this and Dom’s ‘forty years on the force bit’ made me want very much to see him play Sheridan Whiteside in Man Who Came To Dinner so much. He would be perfect in the role.
This episode feels like Adam's face turn. Battered, outnumbered, but still fighting with a smile on his face.

I would love to see some vignettes on each of the NRB crew that shows who they are as people. I feel like I know something about each of them but it would be great to learn more, if they're okay with that of course.

God I love Dom. :D He's the person at a board game group that you always want to have fun antagonizing for the best results (respectfully).
Adam's goal for the year was 22 wins, right? He's 4 away from 22 losses. I hope Laurie or someone else could secretly arrange a big 'thing' for when he reaches that threshold. I know they film a few in a group, so maybe when they film their next one (Assuming they haven't already) they could bring out a big cake or something to celebrate his 22nd loss of the year.
Just imagine a procedural sitcom involving this crew! 🤣
Watching their series has really revealed that they might be tabletop gamers, but definitely not card gamers. They frequently do things out of stack order and fail to use abilities at specified times. When Adam is shot in game 3, he draws the equipment to also shoot Laurie, but the card specifies you have to use it when you’re shot. By the time he draws the card he had already been shot, the shooting had resolved and it had moved to the next phase where he draws, the same thing happens earlier when Adam is shot, reveals that he is the agent, and only then does dom choose to use the riot shield to protect him, but at that time he had already been shot and injured so the shield cannot be used. These might appear to be minor gripes but the game would have played out very differently had they not broken the rules like that
In a video full of great moments, Sully's howl of rage at 1:21:11 was the cherry on top for me
I absolutely love that Rosie explained the entire process of playing the game, ultimately ending on a note akin to "I have no clue what to do".

One of my favorite games. It's an excellent blend of party and strategy, not too much of either to demean the other.
I adore social deception games. My friends and I are obsessed and own way too many. I’m only 5 minutes in and you’ve sold me. This one I’m adding to my collect for sure!

I love that Adam just makes a new accusation every turn, just wildly throwing titles AND claiming them if he feels like it, even if people know he's not in that very first round. It's just chaos and I LOVE it. I also love how everyone just picked up a gun first turn.
It's always really conflicting when everyone turns on Adam, because for one I really like it for the entertainment value, but for another I'd really like him to have a win at some point because I do like him too xD I do prefer it if Adam does something to draw their ire or just made a suuuper stupid play or something, but sometimes it's just because it's more fun. Though I did feel bad for him when it was him against literally everyone there.
I had to go back but Laurie mentioning Springfield police almost sent me off the bed laughing. I live in Springfield Massachusetts so that amused me greatly! I love this episode it made me forget the pain my finger is causing me. Great job and I don't think I've ever seen Tilly so I'm happy to 'meet' her!

Are you allowed to use the riot shield after a player reveals their cards? I think the riot shield probably requires using without knowing what the player you're using it for has as cards.

A LOT of reactionary equipment being utilized after an action results in information, which then reverses the action that would have provided said info. Riot shield being one. Gunshield was also drawn as a result of action and then PLAYED against the action that caused the draw? Are either of these legal moves? Equipment being used to reverse, rather than prevent an action seems weird. Equipment used to respond to the action that caused the equipment to be drawn is weird. This game is all over the place.
@@Phyrre56 A bit hard to call it a rehash when it came out in 2014 (same year One Night Ultimate Werewolf was released by the way). Night of the Ninja came out in 2021.
This feels like a rules interpretation mistake, but I don't have the game / rules so I can't confirm. The card says "Use when any player is shot", whereas they used them sometimes after the player had already been shot. It definitely doesn't sound to be in the spirit of the game to be able to decide to block a shot after the shot has revealed that the player is the Agent/Kingpin, or for the Agent/Kingpin to be able to block a shot with the equipment that they got from being shot.
It seems a case of just not being strict on the rules for the sake of entertainment and keeping the game going, rather than the game being at fault.
It's a rehash ? but they are nothing alike ? and even if they were, night of the ninja is the far newer of the 2, so wouldnt that make it the rehash of this game ?

Wouldn't Laurie's equipment card not have stopped the penetrating bullets, since it says "shoot the same player again", and not "shoot your gun at the player it's aiming at again"?
