- Here is a Link to my Amazon store where I share tried and true products that enhance or protect my gray hair. I have been loving these products for years. I've tried a lot of things, but now I just stick to what's in the store because they are perfect for my straight gray, medium density, low porosity hair.

@@StevieLWeisend oh I need that! Some of my gray is yellowish from my natural blonde hair and most of it is a beautiful silver. But I want it to shine like it did when it first came in. (I'm a smoker and trying to quit. I'm going to use a clarifying shampoo first to get out the build up) how much is it... or do you have a site for them?

Don’t get the large size, get the small one that’s 18.00. I’ve had mine for 5 months and I have about a month left. I wash my hair 1-2 times a week and my hair is a little longer and less layered now, so there’s more of it.
Use as little as you can scoop onto your finger. I also use it every time and it’s not drying although, it may be making my hair a little heavy.

I know this is an older video.. first of all, I LOVE your hair! The depth is gorgeous. Not too dark. Also, I am also an unbehaved 50 something who regularly uses Overtone. Currently I’m bright purple with blue bangs and loving it! I recommend just using the actual coloring conditioner instead of just toner - I’ll bet you can achieve that shiny silver with it. I o use the “for brown hair “ as it has the most pigment. Enjoy!
Thats a great idea! using Overtone for brown hair. Your hair sounds so fun! I do use Davines “Heart of Glass” conditioner now and I swear by it. its purple tinted but not so much that you can’t use it every time you wash and it keeps my hair so glossy. It’s not drying at all. I bought the 18 dollar jar and its going to last me 6 months washing my now shoulder length hair 1-2 a week.

@@WendyF68 Thank you so much. Yeah, overtone is great. I have been using Davines “Heart of Glass”‘conditioner too and I really like it, it’s toning and moisturizing. I have ordered the glaze, so we will see how that goes.
I like it much better. Just used overtime on my blonde highlights because my hairdresser after 1 year still has not turned me Grey. So I got overtone... And love it

I like it. I used the vibrant silver a few weeks ago and it did not go well. It darkened my gray but turned my pale blonde hair an ashy green.
OMG! I tried the vibrant silver too, on my pale blonde sections, and it looked silver the first day, then it turned a very weird greenish gray. I was so disappointed.
Same thing happened to me, it was a nightmare to remove from grey, it stained it

I think it’s subtle and looks nice Stevie,I too have a lot of yellow I use a very potent purple shampoo that gives a similar look to the stuff you’ve just used.

I use their “bright violet” (or purple, don’t remember & I’m in bed now). I have really short hair and just use the Overtone on the top.
My base was the same color, so I found a generk 7-11, medium Ash Blonde...I figured why not...I wa sick of blending in whiter highlights, tired of using expensive shampoo and conditioner, and the extra mask of rebuilding hair after bleaching my natural hair whiteish-yellow so I could get the white highlights with silver instead of dishpan hair...this has saved me a ton of money and I believe I'll go purple next!!!, or maybe intense gold!!!

First, you don’t look like you’re in your 50s! Personally, I like how it came out. I’m fully gray and want to do a fun color, but I’m afraid it won’t fade. And it took too long to grow out. I don’t want to do that again.
Age 69 and have done fantasy colors several times. It always fades out but sometimes lasts a long time, especially in the ends which get trimmed off anyway.
I like it on you very much, I tried it and I couldn't get it out, it turned blue then green. It looks great! Curious if you ever had a problem removing it though
Oh no! I am sorry that happened. I seem to have the opposite problem, I have trouble getting temporary color to stick. Do you have grey hair? Have you tried fanciful roux? It’s very temporary. I’d still do a strand test though.
I don't wear makeup anymore but when I did, I found that using a rose colored blush and extending it up to my eyes (lightly) helped with dark undereyes. also, using a peach/rosey base under the eye and then using concealer also worked well but is harder to get right due to creasing. I'm unbothered by my dark circles now.

We have a lot of antiques in our house 😬 Helen Mirin was what I wanted to or Devil wears Prada, but we get what we get that’s part of acceptance right? Not sure if I would look all that right with pure white hair anyway. At least not now.

I want to use the pastel silver but I’m not totally gray. I’m like a salt and pepper but my natural hair is a light ash brown… but my half my hair is still the faded colored ends (I used to color my hair red).

I absolutely love it! Does it come all the way out after however long it lasts? Some people claim it can permanently stain gray hair.
@@barbkelly9604 for me, it lasts 2-3 washing but some have reported staining. I make sure to only use cool toned tints and avoid anything with yellow in it such as Overtone’s rose gold and just stick with the more violet tones. I don’t want yellow stained hair.

Thank you, yes, it washes out for me, and it's so close to my hair color, can't tell you how long....but pink took about a week. That said, do you know Erika Johnson? she's here on RUclips and she used rose gold and it ruined her white hair. If you have dark hair, I think the rose gold for brunettes is stunning.

Thank you. Yes, I tried blonde and liked it very much but I will never permanently dye my hair. In fact, the thought of impulsively dying my hair gives me nightmares.
Going gray was the best hair decision I ever made. I am no longer chasing that dreaded strip away every two weeks. And not spending money in the salon along with all the other unnecessary things big beauty convinced most people that they need , has given me financial freedom to live a creative life. That has given me a sense of intrinsic value & satisfaction that I no longer care about looking young for others and I have only gained from that.
I have accepted I am over 50 and that means gray hair and many other gifts. Let my gray hair signify those gifts.
Although, I’ve been gray since 30. I think silver/gray hair is so pretty! So does my husband.
Maybe others equate gray hair to age and they equate age to ugly and they equate ugly to lacking value, but that’s not really my problem, that’s theirs.
The Vibrant Silver gave my silver a green cast.
Interesting. Did it last long? I really love Davines Heart of Glass conditioner, I use it every time I wash and it’s subtle and moisturizing. It’s expensive, but so far the small 18 dollar jar is lasting me since October, about 4 months. It’s all I use and I wash my hair 1-2 times a week. I think I have a couple months left too.

last night i put in blue got2b color pop... it did kinda the same thing ... just made all the pretty white bits look grey too... i wanted blue hair though, but do want it to fade away... came to look at overtone videos, but don't see any BLUE ones, just differing shades of silver... your hair looks nice with or without overtone, not to sound mean or anything, but you're pretty :)

I think it really depends on how porous or white your natural gray is, but I am not sure. In order for my hair to really take temporary dye - and I mean pink looking like blush- I have to put the color on dry and leave it for several hours under a shower cap and it lasts for a few weeks. I like it though.
Have you tried manic panic, they have blue shades and I think Monika Parent has tried them back in the day.

I know this is a year ago, but if you/anyone wants a sort of lavender tint to your hair, get the Amika purple conditioner and mask. Clean your hair with a stripping shampoo to get all the loose color out, get your scalp clean, etc, and then condition with the purple conditioner. When you’re done, set your hair up in the purple mask for a good 15 minutes, rinse, and if your hair is anything like my silver, you should have a head of very pretty lavender hair. (Mine is still streaked through, but I’m a few years younger. While this darkens my natural blonde slightly, it’s worth it to have lavender hair!) I reset with the mask every 6-8 weeks, but using the purple shampoo and conditioner mostly maintains the color for me. And all this is doing is over-toning the hair, much like the little old ladies who had blue hair when I was a kid. (Who knew how metal they truly were?) And the purple Amika (it’s technically called bust your brass) will correct any yellow undertone to grey hair. 😊
Oh and bonus: any time you want to go back to your natural color, just use a clarifying/stripping shampoo and voila.

@@StevieLWeisend Oh stars, I had to go check my own sentence and make sure I typed what I meant, it’s been that sort of morning. 😂 Kve been told that there’s something about grey that makes it harder to hold color, which is one reason my overtoning with Amika seems to surprise everyone so much. 🤷🏼♀️ My other suggestion, which would solely be based on videos, would be giving Brad Mondo’s hair color a try. I believe it’s demi-permanent tho, so takes a little longer to wash out if you dislike it. In another two inches I’ll be able to sit on my hair, so demi-permanent that I hate is still a big risk for me but for folks with shorter hair it might be an easier risk to take. And he does have LOVELY colors!

Couldn't afford it lol. But I took most of my classes in psychology and grew up with a schizophrenic brother. Lol the stories I could tell! But I'm rambling. I think healing from, getting away from... anything to help these ppl. It's so hard to find support. You are a special woman. A strong, intuitive woman. You also blend your humor in naturally. I didn’t, there was no transfer of color to anywhere on my hands. The texture is very buttery not drying. I can’t say that your skin won’t stain, but mine does pretty easily and it didn’t. I washed my hands right away though.

Your foundation doesn‘t suit your skin undertones…you should read up on that so you don‘t do yourself a disservice and brighten your eyes more…
Thank you, I agree. That’s why I gave up foundation and only used DRMTLGY universal skin tint for all skin tones. I don’t really want to cover my skin up that much anyway. I have cool undertones and almost medium skin, it’s really difficult to match.

I think less make up is prettier anyhow, but I also hate putting on more than a tinted day creme just because I dislike how all these layers of product make my skin feel stretched!
I think your face shape works well with rose-tinted blush, to lighten up your eyes!

@@lynnm6413 I know you were just trying to help and there is a streak of yellow foundation on my skin, that’s is obvious in the certain lighting. I have a real camera now ( instead of just my iPhone) and it makes my nearly bare skin look fine if not a little pale. I really just have to play with the light settings. I’ll be doing 2 videos a week from now on, not on silver hair but on Food and thoughts.
