I am a fabricator for a living and I know exactly where you are coming from on the price end. I appreciate your honesty and all your videos on these builds, thanks.
People don’t realize the blood, sweat, and tears involved. You guys remind me so much of my family. My older brother has been rebuilding transmissions for over 40 years. Not to brag it’s just that I have many memories of working in a shop with nothing but family! Keep it up fellas!
You are right. A lot of sweat equity that is never seen goes into this. I am very fortunate to be able to work with my family and we all get along so well. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I'm sure yall probably try to respond and help everyone out who contacts yall but some people are lost causes. Anything worth having in life is not cheap so I definitely wouldn't worry about your prices. If it means enough to them they will pay the price or do the work themselves. Love what you guys have going on here and hope you can keep uploading your projects.
Heard you say we are nothing special. I couldn't disagree more. I think all of you are very special and very talented. I definitely appreciate your honesty and being forthright. Don't follow the negatives and just keep pushing forward with the positive customers that are willing to pay for your hard work and engineering. Most of the negative people probably don't have any money anyway, just saying. Keep up the good work! One more thing to think about is the engine brace that holds the the motor in the van. Some people might need that with the kit to install it. Of course that would be extra.
If I saw a kit for only 400 dollars I wouldn't trust it on the trail. Whatever the price is. It shouldn't make you feel bad. Somewhere in the middle of you being worried about your income or you feeling greedy is the right price. You deserve to be paid for your skills. Otherwise no one will get the product. There is a story I tell people about a guy who sold cutting boards at a faire. People always asked him to drop the price, so he did. He goes back to the faire and the same number of people still asked him to lower the price! By then he was already losing his shirt. The lesson he learned was that people who don't appreciate skill will always talk you down, regardless of price. The people who recognize quality will pay for that quality. Within reason of course. Its better to show people your skills and be honest with them. A good product will speak for itself. If you show people that you make a kit, how to install it, and how well it works. They will buy your kit.
I think this video was a good idea. I went down the same path you did in your research and I did buy a kit but only after I had seen you guys actually go through the process. Although I'm still far from done with mine I can say that I probably would've never attempted this without your videos. I also think that 90% of the people following these videos truly understand the effort involved. The remaining 10% are probably the ones that think it should be cheap and probably aren't capable of completing the job anyway, their input on the front end nor their feedback on the back end (if they buy the kit) won't help any of us. Thanks for this and all the other videos.
Thank you! I hope your build finishes out well. Glad to see our videos are doing something. It doesn't madder where kits, parts or whatever come from as long as you build em!! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Preach it Justin! Thanks for lay it all out for us!! Thanks for all the hard work with all that’s involved doing what you all do!! It’s much appreciated!!
Really excited to see what you come up with! I have a G30 and might have access to a lift to be able to take a week off and get a kit of yours installed. People are always going to complain, especially about price, don't let them bother you as they would never buy one regardless of the price 🤷 Keep up the great work!
You guys just keep doing what youre doing. The people complaining will always have nothing better to do except complain. Do what you need to do to make your kits and the right people will come along. The ones complaining about cost couldnt afford it to begin with. Those same people will never understand what youre explaining. They go through life miserable, unhappy, and complaining…..
I enjoy your videos. I'm to poor and I spend most of my time in a wheel chair. I would have to make I lifting device for me and my wheel chair. I am realistic. I have no need for a 4x4 van. I love them I wish you the best on making a 4x4 van kit. When I built my Chopper there were no bolt on parts I hade to make then all. I think I mentioned this on your sight am a double amputee. Its hard for me to get in a regular van let alone a lifted 4x4 one. I hope you keep making amazing vans.
You guys are on the right track to price this out. Almost suggest you evaluate your price annually due to material and inflation costs, especially if you start getting a wait list.
there nothing cheap when it comes to 4x4. and you have to keep your shop running. liking the videos, always wanted a 4x4 van. id even get rid of my Jeep. lol maybe.
With the cost of steel I didn't expect it to be a few hundred $$$, some people have unrealistic expectations lol! Don't sell yourself short guys, you're doing a great job! Any chance you will be selling blue prints for the pieces for guys like me who like to fabricate from scratch?
Something you might want to consider to help with your time and cost is selling either flat pack or cut files. Work with a metal company that has a plasma/laser cnc table to set up the cut file. Then you can either outsource all the cutting to them and ship the pieces as a DIY weld up kit. Or after designing the cut file and verifying all the pieces are good. Simply sell the cut file as the "kit" . Customer pays, you send email with the cut file, they take it to a local company to be cut, then DIY weld up or hire a welder to assemble. Either method would save you time and money for what might be a low volume item. Lots of companies do the flat pack method for DIY bumpers for Jeeps and pickups. Also some that do the same for suspension, crossmembers etc. Just something to consider.
I have a 1989 brick nose E250 190 Class B . I know you build them for Chevy's do you build them ford Old school Van. I love what you guys are doing keep up the good fab work.
Only G series GM vans at this time. Ujoint Offroad are the only ones I know of that have a kit for Fords, but I don't know how old. I will say their stuff is top notch! You will not find better quality anywhere than what they have. Thanks for watching.
Yes, if you use the right front diff and transfer case with them. Our kit only mounts the front differential under the van in the correct location. Thanks for watching.
yep I wouldnt listen to those people. I am waiting to see what you come up with and I wan never expecting something 4-500. What most people dont know is that the big corporations sell their new products at a loss and make money selling spare parts to fix them. And you are not a big corporation like that
Build and sell them for the right customer's and not the broke customer's. Keep up the great work!
Thank You!!
@@theswimshop4x4 No doubt. Thanx for following your body, mind and soul. I appreciate you!! Honest work is priceless.

Thank you! And thanks for watching and commenting, We will be in touch!!

Thanks for the suggesting. That is an idea to think about in the future if enough interest is there. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I would definitely pay for the cut file since it'll be expensive or impossible to send those kits here to México 🥲. Amazing work btw.

I have a 78 E150 Club Wagon 300 inline 6 cylinder with a 4 SPD manual transmission and would love to do a 4x4 conversion to it
Sorry, we don't do Ford vans. But there are a few companies that do. Thanks for watching.
Buy once, cry once.
Better than crying indefinitely.
Haha! So true. Thanks for watching.
Will this kit work with a 4L60e or 4L80e transmission?
Yes, if you use the right front diff and transfer case with them. Our kit only mounts the front differential under the van in the correct location. Thanks for watching.
I’d rather have you guys do my van
Thank you!!
So how much is a kit?
$1750.00 plus shipping. You can go to our website. Link is below.
Thanks, I will
