I have this exact bike. Have owned all sorts, and this is quite easily the best pound for pound machine I've ever owned. Great power, great brakes, good looks, superb fuelling and handling. Kawasaki just got this right.
Don't get me wrong, I believe your word. I just don't get Kawasaki's idea of having THE same bar controls, levers and mirrors for literally 15 years? Is that the same on all Japanese bikes??
I have an old z750 and am looking to upgrade. The pre TFT screen model is available for £7300 here in the UK. Once I've saved the deposit I'm buying one.
I spent a year debating between the Z900 and the 09. I think the Z is a better looking bike but I ended up getting the 09. It just seemed to fit better. I also found my foot was constantly on the exhaust on the Z. Z feels sportier, like you sit in it. 09 feels more relaxed, like you sit on it. Whichever you choose you won’t go wrong. They’re both great bikes.
09 is lighter and I prefer the sound of inline 3 engine. Z900 seems to be great too. But I have heard that mt09 really needs aftermarket suspension, true?
megapet777 I think the 17 and newer 09s got an improvement to the forks but it’s still to soft. Z900 is kinda the same. If you want RR suspension and brakes you have to buy a RR. I’m a rider, not a racer so I’m still happy with the 09. Like I said, you’ll probably be equally happy with either one.
$8,700 USD. I bought mine in April ‘19.... absolutely no regrets! Best “bang for the buck” I’ve ever experienced! (been riding since the early ‘70’s)...... my 2019 black ‘n gray w/red frame & red wheels Z900 is stupid fast....great low-end torque (as you experienced in this video review), and looks absolutely killer. No regrets.
Omgwtflmaololrotfl i’ve ridden a 1290 SDR and a CB1000r The honda is fun to ride, chill bike, while the ktm just wanna does wheelie, it gave me more excitement than i do with the honda. Reliability wise, japan bikes are better imo
@@jcrosas5751 I guess so and i was just giving a tidbit of history on the speed race between factories. Now we can see an example of why the world is so screwed up today. It's a shame.
I've ridden both bikes extensively. The MT09 and Z900 are similar in engine size and it ends there. The MT09 feels like a fat supermoto. That's how I rode it. The motor is manic. The seat is narrow. The engine buzzes through the bars more than I liked. It's def a bit more of a hooligan bike if that's your goal. It wheelies super easy. The motor has a little bit of soul (more so than the Z900) but again, I couldn't fall in love with it. The Z900 is extremely smooth but looks silly with all the stickers Kawasaki puts on it. It's like it's trying too hard to be cool. I added a Ktech rear shock and an Ohlins set of fork inserts, and changed out the slip on for a Yoshi Alpha T works and peeled a mess of stickers off it. Now it looks like a grown ups bike. The z900 is a little softer down low, has an incredible intake howl and thanks to correct spring rates and improved valving, it's now every bit as good as any naked bike I've owned...and It's considerably less expensive even with the upgrades.
I bought z900 year ago and I love it. Best in this bike is that he is 2018 year, but without electronics example traction control and other. Just abs. Thats why i bought this motorcycle.
I have a new mt09 and my buddy has a z900. The mt will jump off the line better, the z900 will pull harder at the high rpm’s and has a faster top speed, at least stock. The z900 doesn’t give you quite the wind blast on the highway like the mt09. I also noticed the brakes, I was a little shocked when coming to a normal stop how hard I had to get on the brakes on the z900. Z900 definitely has a sportier feel but the Yamaha is more flickable. I drove both before I bought one and the mt just seemed more for me.
I was down to the mt09 and z900 and chose the z900. It was just a better feel for my riding style. Rider modes, traction control, ABS..... are cool but account for less than 1% of the riding experience. Looking at vids and stats I thought the Z900 would top out around 130mph. That's not the case...not even close. But not super smooth on a naked. It's just got torque all the way through and just keeps going.
Matt B Why would I be upset lol. They’re just different feeling bikes. Much more different feeling riding them than they are on paper. Can’t go wrong with either one, both get you out having fun on a bike.
Brand new 2019....ABS model, Red frame/red wheels, Akropovik can, small windscreen, sliders, & fender eliminator!.... got it this past May and absolutely no regrets! This Z900 is my 1st in-Line 4 cylinder - buds “warned” me about lack of torque..... they have ridden my bike now and they are speechless. 😎.
This 948 will throw down about 130 whp and 73 wtq (full exhaust, ecu flash, filter, li-ion battery). With the mods, drop to 440 pounds or less. Gear ratios on the Z are absolutely perfect. 1st gear low enough. 6th gear high enough for cruising. I got 42-43 mpg constantly. Kawasaki put the Z800 forks/brakes on the Z900. They put modern radial-mount calipers and forks on the Z900RS..... and gave it a detuned engine. How does this make sense? The less capable RS with less ground clearance, more weight, gets the better brakes.
I have a 2017 Z900 , Very happy to own and ride it. One thing that I don't agree with the author is that the brakes on this bike are quite good. I had changed the tyres to Metzeler M7RR before I took it from the dealership and do not regret this. The grip is so good. I always ride it with a grin on my face.
Great vid 👍🏽.... I checked out the MT09 & the Z900 last March. I bought the Z and have no regrets. Tremendous value for the $8,700 USD I paid. Both bikes are outstanding.
First. Just picked mine up yesterday and I already love it. So light and nimble and linear power. Just bought the DanMoto XG1 exhaust, can’t wait 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
I'm really glad that this is my same reaction when I rode mine for the first time! I started on an R6, and a week after I bought my Z900 I took it on a 3,000 mile road trip and wasn't uncomfortable. The power is there everywhere in the power band and I love this bike so much.
i know im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account? I somehow lost the password. I would love any tips you can give me.
@Denver Elisha Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
Red grapes vs green grapes. Both are tasty, both gives a kick, they will both age like fine vine. It's mostly up to what kind of ride you want. The new MT-09 is more motard style, while the Z900 is more sport style. The MT-09 has more electronics and pulls more on lower rpm's then the Z900. The Z900 is more bare bones and has more power on the high end then the MT-09, and has more cc's along with more smooth power. Personally, i'm more in love the feel and sound of the 3 cylinder bikes. But i'd be just as happy with a 4 cylinder really. Red grapes vs green grapes. Don't know about the U.S, but in Norway the MT-09 is 11% cheaper. that's a lot of money for upgrades. But all the Z900 Really needs are a some racing break pads and a after market exhaust. The MT-09 also needs a little Shock upgrade and a high mount tail tidy. (That low mount is horrible and inconvenient)
the brakes on my 2018 z900 are super strong, compared to what i'm used to on my 2017 sv650. i don't know how there can be such a large discrepancy between our two opinions, all i can do is report on how it felt to me. and that is, a bit too touchy for the amount of pressure i apply, and plenty of bite. and i ride way way way more aggressively than anyone i've ever met, and i ride over 500 miles every week on the freeway in dfw traffic. i use my brakes constantly, so i would consider it a valid point of view to base this opinion.
I tested the Z900, XSR900 and MT-09. On paper the MT-09 was the obvious choice as, in the UK, it is a lot cheaper, has more bells and whistles and the additional legroom was a bonus for my 6'2" frame. However compared to the more powerful but oh so smooth Kawi and it's "on rails" handling the Yams just felt loose, vague and unpredicatable. So the Z900 with high seat option is the bike I bought. No regrets. The brakes: they take a good while to bed in so judging their performance with twenty something miles on them is probably not that accurate a comparison.
I read that someone said they had to press a lot to get the brakes to work - maybe they were miss-adjusted ? - I have about 1000 miles on my 2019 and I still have to watch out about pressing the front brake too much . It is super responsive and a little goes a long way . If I am not careful each time - I get too much bite and more compression on the forks than I wish .
I ride a 2008 Kawasaki ZZR600 with an inline-4 engine. The low power at low rpm makes it a relaxed street bike, until you get to 13,000 rpm and it starts to scream with 90 horsepower. The engine won a lot of races in 2000, and the extra weight for more comfort and lower insurance costs compared to a newer 600 are nice. The Yamaha R6 is better for track days. I added a thicker, more comfortable seat and my legs are long enough to still easily get to the ground for traffic lights.
I think what u say is true, BUT the manufacturer always tells you the peak torque, which doesn't matter most of the time. For the Mt 09 you have torque all over the place and even if z900 has a bit more, you have u rev it up to kick in. Cheers
the wind noise and buffeting on my previous naked, the sv650, was much much worse compared to the z900. the z900 is way more smooth in every way, including slicing through the wind.
The Z900 has the better sportier chassis. The MT09 is a more stunt/ super motard type of bike. It's sits high at the front and is more vague where as the Z900 is more precise and stable. The Z900 is also more powerful AND produces more torque. The worse thing about Kawa is the hard seat though you can buy a comfort seat from Kawasaki. When I tested the Z900 I had no such issues with the brakes. They were strong and predictable although this was a European model [I live in the U.K] , so I'm not sure if the U.S model has a different pad compound. General fit and finish on the Z900 is also better. The early MT09 's had terrible suspension and a real snatchy throttle. The latest ones are better but the throttle is still quite snatchy in sport mode. Both are great fun machines but for me personally I'd take the Z900 every time.
IDK why people think 4 cylinders have no charachter. Maybe its too smooth or too common for peoples taste? I always thought the Kawasaki 4 cylinder had great personality in the zx6r i've rode. So smooth, the sound is great and the pull is insane. Thats all the charachter i need personally.
Exactly what i wanted to say! I have a '13 zx6r and had it for almost a year so far, amazing machine, love the traction control, smooth brakes, throttle, and clutch feels amazing. Only complaint if i was searching for one would maybe be too strong of engine breaking.
I've just put about 2k miles on my z900. This thing is a gem. It may not have all the electronics of the MT, but the power is so predictable that you don't need it.
Justin C i did three hours on mine last weekend and it was fine. I quite like the seat. Part of the reason i bought theZ900 not the gsxs750 was seat height too.i could get my leg over. I struggled in the gsxs.
ive had over 25 4 cyclinder bikes yes nice and smooth but no character , the Mt09 are great for my old legs im 6ft 1 my other favorite bike was the honda firestorm 1000 its not all about about top end I like fun bikes
Finally someone that reviewed z900. I feel like the front brake feels numb but when you squeeze it will bite pretty good. Brakes might be to new like you said.
maybe they were miss-adjusted ? - I have about 1000 miles on my 2019 and I still have to watch out about pressing the front brake too much . It is super responsive and a little goes a long way . If I am not careful each time - I get too much bite and more compression on the forks than I wish
Not all in line 4cyl are built the same. I have a 2009 Yamaha FZ6R with the same 600cc engine that's in the R6, however they've retooled the version that they put into the FZ. What they did was take away the top end power and beefed up the mid to low. Same with the Z900, it's the same engine that they put in the 1000cc bikes but they've moved the power down lower for every day type riding.
you should try a Suzuki GSXS 750. I bet it's pretty comparable to the z900. Little less ponies than the z900 but at 115hp the gsxs always leaves a smile on my face. ;-)
I also own one. Excellent bike, never came near needing more brakes, or feeling they were inadequate in any way. Chassis and motor are sublime, especially for the money. Only complaint is the seat, it's woefully padded at the edges, and has an annoying forward slant.
bought one of those beauties like a month ago barely did my first service its just amazing was between the mt but this one its just an eye catcher plus with a full exaust damn no doubt its the best 2019 naked sport bike
serious mate you can idle down to 40kph in TOP, turn into a sllllow corner and just roll on and it goes thru and boom up the road. U cannot believe the tractability until you TRY it. LOVE mine, stop whinging about the weight. Its a light bike for a 900 - we just get spoilt. The yama cruiser i traded was something like 340kg so yeah...I love how light the Z is
MT09 much more punch and exitment. Z900 better chassi and suspension. Is bike handling your demand go Z900. Is motor and exitment and sound go with the MT09.
@@amotorcyclerider3230 Starting my 2nd season with this bike. No regrets at all. Awesome bike. Needs full exhaust, air filter, and a tune, then BAM!!!!
Triple is a thrilling engine, makes very fun power in the mid range, but it's not nearly as smooth or tingle-free in the bars, seat, pegs as the Kawasaki. After a while, the 'coarseness' of the triple will fatigue you. Plus the OEM throttle calibration of the CP3 is very imprecise and you'll cramp your throttle arm. You can spend thousands and fix all the Yamaha shortcomings, but do you want to? Stock, the Z900 is much more stable, confidence inspiring, smoother, more powerful, easier to ride at 50% greater pace, better ergos in the wind. Now in 2020 they've update the rear suspension spring rate, strengthened the shock connection, adjusted damping in the forks, went with TC, 3 power modes, TFT, LED headlight, and some minor stylistic changes. The seat got a tad thicker which was very needed. It's still 115 whp stock (125 whp tuned).
I tried both bikes, I bought the mt09, better feeling and better components, z900 is a great bike, but it was heavier and doesn't come with led lights and the swing arm is horrible, just my opinion
I was looking for a fz09/xsr900 but started looking at the z900. The only thing I absolutely hate is the HIDEOUS gauge cluster and the fact that there isn’t any power modes is a slight turnoff as well. But that gauge cluster looks terrible IMO
Ayye shout out Washington State! I'm having trouble deciding between MT-09, Z900, and GSX-S750. Looks alone the GSX-S looks best. I also think the power is about perfect for me, it would be almost double what i have now on my '02 Ducati Monster 750. But i cant ride them to get a feel for them because of everything going on right now.
Wow you're around my old stomping grounds! I was born in Spokane lol. Going to be swinging into my Kawasaki dealer here in western WA to give one of these a good look over, and maybe test ride. Currently riding a '16 Versys 650. Also good to know you can flat foot it because I'm slightly shorter than you are, and tippy toe the Versys. Having another bike I can actually put my feet down on would be nice. Thanks for the review! Was very helpful!
I have Z900 (2018) and I can say the brakes on mine are very good. I rode the mt09, street triple and Z900, chose the Z900 as it was the best all-rounder. Yamaha mt09 suspension is not great when you really get going through the corners (doesn't inspire confidence) plus it has a weird supermoto seat position. Kawasaki has more power, better suspension and better build, plus so much smoother. Best thing is to test ride all the bikes to best see what suits you best.
I own the 2018 z900 as well, didn't have an issue with the brakes..I ride it at 60 miles per hour everyday on freeways. I test rode the street triple ( clutch was hard as rock) and fz09 was good but z900 was better overall...however not the best fan of the gear sprocket...too short in 1 and 2...Might change it soon.
The shape of the z900 is supposed to look like a predator in a crouch about to attack. There is a word for it but I forget. Also, the brakes on the Z take about 1000 miles to break in. The power is there but they take a while to come to life. I plan on installing more aggressive pads with more initial bite. Here's a couple of fun facts...If you look at dyno charts, the z900 has more power and torque than the mt09 throughout the rev range. And also, the z900 puts out more power than the zx10r up to 8000 RPM. (After that it's lights out of course).
I have the 2019 Z1000 i absolutely love it it was my first bike, what's the deal on test riding bikes can you test ride any or do you have to pay to test ride not that id change mine just be nice to try some different ones to compare.. great review on this bike.
About how much was your monthly insurance quote on the z900 if you don't mind me asking? I am looking at buying one this week but haven't got a quote yet
@@dustinpiedimonte9420 I have Geico and it is about $290 with $250 deductible on collision and comprehensive ... Other bikes or companies were about $ 1000 or more for less coverage .
Good video. Bro you gotta get on a supersport liter bike... they pull harder than anything else you can experience. The first few times riding one will scare you
The fz09 has similar low end torque and is close to being as quick as most liter bikes in the quarter mile. You should ride one. They are nuts for the price.
Great video great bike I have the 2019 Yamaha XSR 900 sister same bike to MT 09 While the Kawasaki does make 125 hp rather than 110 or so from the Yamaha Yamaha offers traction control three different modes Also three different driving modes plus ABS and it’s 430 pounds wet so yes the Kawasaki is a little more power the Yamaha has a whole lot more features safety wise and a much better dash system Both are incredible bikes great video thanks for all the information keep it going
Maybe it keeps the cost down and some purist wouldn't want it but I would seriously consider this bike if it came with riding modes and tc. I like to ride in all conditions and tc would give more confidence. My current bike doesn't have rider aids but also doesn't have the power the z900
Here in Miami Florida, dealers wont let you test drive any bikes, its crazy. Who would want to commit on buying a bike without testing it first. I guess i need to go to Spokane WA😅
I was going to buy this yesterday but had to decline after sitting on it. I was taught to have the balls of my feet on the pegs when not using the shifter/brake. I wear a 13 shoe and unfortunately my heels distractingly hit the passenger pegs when sliding my feet back on the pegs. Ugh.
Ryan McCarthy CB650R all day. It doesn’t have as much power or torque. All the components from the LED dash, upgraded suspension, brakes make it so much for bang for buck. It also just felt so smooth and flickable. A bike you can ride anywhere and have so much fun
How noticeable of a difference is this compared to a Z650? I own a 17 z650 and it’s my first bike. I wanna get the Z900 next. Obviously bigger engine but the size difference is quite noticeable. I’ve heard the z900 has a top speed of around 135-140mph (depending on the size of the rider)?
Yea 600 super sports are only good if you keep them wound up, but that helps get them through the curves quicker as there not so unforgiving at lower rpm! Now a liter bike has power every where from 2k rpm to 11k rpm they feel like a super torque bike that when you get to 6k rpm all hell breaks loose like in a Vette or viper at 5k rpm it’s a rush! I personally want a regular ninja 1000 as I’m to old to be riding full liter bikes any more. I’m like you, I just want comfort and torque! But I couldn’t help but notice the non ZX version is faster in the 0-60 and the 1/4 mile, but after that the ZX10RR blows by and leaves! 😂 I used to ride that fast but not no more reflexes ain’t good enough for all that now!
Always loved the 4 cylinder, not sure about the three, lol i do have a triple on my yamaha sx viper sled ,its very good power, but i perfure a 4 cyclender on my sport bike.
the z900 and cb1000r, if price were not an issue, would be direct competitors. the cb has 120 peak hp. the z has 115. but the real difference only reveals itself if you look at a dyno graph. the z has a much better curve, and much earlier torque delivery. on naked bikes, it's mainly about low-end torque, not peak hp. at 3k the cb has just under 50 ft-lbs, and the z has just over 50 ft-lbs. at 4500, the cb actually has a HUGE dip in torque, from nearly 58 back down to 50. while the z passes 60 and keeps going up. they weigh about the same, so those numbers are directly comparable. but then of course, you have to ask the price... cb = $13k. z = $8.4k. i actually got mine (2018 abs) for $7.8k AFTER taxes. with that difference in price, it's no contest. there is zero reason to ever buy the cb1000r.
I think its in competition with the GSX-S 1000 as i am deciding between them right now Seeing the BHP figures maybe competition for the 750 there in the same power band, i maybe go for the 1000 as the BHP is in the ballpark at 150 or so, right around my fz1
I am buying an MT09 because of its unique engine character. It sounds and performs superbly. As far as inline-4 goes I will always go with a superbike. I owned a 2015 ZX10R and I really loved that thing. I would totally buy another ZX10R over any other bike now if I had the money, but to me right now there's nothing better than an MT09 for that price, and yes I rode an MT09 before making my decision.
I own a 2017 z900 non abs. Brakes were ok to me. Not the best but good enough. The stock tires however my god they're bad. My issue with the mt09 is the throttle. Too twitchy. When I rode one seemed no matter where I was in the revs the throttle would jerk me and if you love to hit the twisties like I do that's no good. The z900 is more powerful and more predictable. Just put good tires on and you're golden.
Thanks for mentioning leg room. That's an Important ergonomic for those of us going naked. Wake up Kawasaki. I love the Z900 but my inseam is 33 inches. Hello MT 09.
Btw, technically correct riding is left foot down coming to a halt. Putting both feet down shifts your centre of gravity up to seat height which is why riders wobble awwy when theyve got both feet down. One foot down has centre fo gravity at peg height with your right foot on the peg. Thats not me talking thats Stay Upright, the preeminent rider training group in Australia. And theyre right. Btw2 the bike youre testing has 24miles on the clock. The brakes need to bed in. Its in the manual. Get 200-300kms on it and the brakes come alive. They become powerful and progressive.
Looks better than the MT09, particularly the seat. I reviewed an MT09 Tracer the other day (yet to be edited & posted up) and I wasn't overly impressed, if I'm honest.

How’s this bike on the highway? I travel to work 18 miles daily on the highway, want this bike, worried about highway speeds kicking my ass everyday.....
It has more than enough power for the highway. But it has very little wind protection so you will be feeling a lot of wind. That's basically the same with all naked bikes though. I ride a naked all the time on the freeway and it's bearable. Just wear a nice jacket and helmet and you'll be fine
I love yves z bikes. I want a z650 but I kind of hate the sewing machine motor. I like the styling of the z bikes more than the mt bikes but I liked the mt07 motor much better than the z650

The z900 is a little softer down low, has an incredible intake howl and thanks to correct spring rates and improved valving, it's now every bit as good as any naked bike I've owned...and It's considerably less expensive even with the upgrades.
i have the 18 z900 and its an amazing bike. compliments all the time. tons of torque and top end
Me too have the 2018 Z900 and i love it 👍
Bought mine in november
😁😁😁😁👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 massive
Love it,
I have the rs version! Awesome bike!
Ive been waiting for more RUclipsrs to review it! I feel it's very underrated
I bought z900 year ago and I love it. Best in this bike is that he is 2018 year, but without electronics example traction control and other. Just abs. Thats why i bought this motorcycle.
Thats right ma men, u a real biker, we dont want pussy shits in our bikes. :)
ABS and slipper clutch are all I need too.
Thx for sharing
The z900 is better your just upset u made the wrong decision
There is no argument about the taste for example I don't like Harley-Davidson even though it costs 4 times more than my bike does
I was down to the mt09 and z900 and chose the z900.
Love my Z9. I did full exhaust, growler can,, crazy loud. Power Commander V and Auto Tune. Bike came alive.
Congrats. Ride safe
Are the brakes good?
I'm really glad that this is my same reaction when I rode mine for the first time! I started on an R6, and a week after I bought my Z900 I took it on a 3,000 mile road trip and wasn't uncomfortable. The power is there everywhere in the power band and I love this bike so much.
i know im asking the wrong place but does anyone know a trick to get back into an Instagram account?
I somehow lost the password. I would love any tips you can give me.

@Denver Elisha Thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.

@Denver Elisha it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass!
@Rocky Orion you are welcome =)
That Kawasaki is a terrific bargain.
I loved the early 2000's Z bikes with the 2 pipes on each side.
the brakes on my 2018 z900 are super strong, compared to what i'm used to on my 2017 sv650. i don't know how there can be such a large discrepancy between our two opinions, all i can do is report on how it felt to me. and that is, a bit too touchy for the amount of pressure i apply, and plenty of bite.
and i ride way way way more aggressively than anyone i've ever met, and i ride over 500 miles every week on the freeway in dfw traffic. i use my brakes constantly, so i would consider it a valid point of view to base this opinion.
BobbyBlueAce no high seat option for the z900 in the US of A. Also in the states the mt09 is more than the z900.
Kawasaki Z900 the best of the beast!
truly is I spent a month on one cruisin around on vacation and i just can't wait to get it for real
The Z900 has more torque than a MT09- period. Not only is it quicker with more top end it has a better , sportier more balanced chassis.
@The Underground Man Slipper clutch is a godsend on quick down-shifts through the box.
I agree with you. Z900 us my first four cylinder, I do not miss the twins at all.
I've just put about 2k miles on my z900. This thing is a gem. It may not have all the electronics of the MT, but the power is so predictable that you don't need it.
Great video! Maybe I'm biased for owning one but I'm 6'4" and don't mind the legroom. The seat isn't much fun for long rides like you said however.
Justin C i did three hours on mine last weekend and it was fine. I quite like the seat.
Part of the reason i bought theZ900 not the gsxs750 was seat height too.i could get my leg over. I struggled in the gsxs.
How bent are your legs I'm 6'4 as well wear a 36-34 in jeans
the 2020 version will have a much nicer display, will testride it for sure!
pffff highway, imagine that on german autobahn :D
ive had over 25 4 cyclinder bikes yes nice and smooth but no character , the Mt09 are great for my old legs im 6ft 1 my other favorite bike was the honda firestorm 1000 its not all about about top end I like fun bikes
Mt sucks if you have short legs
Finally someone that reviewed z900. I feel like the front brake feels numb but when you squeeze it will bite pretty good. Brakes might be to new like you said.
Definitely the contact patch should be 100-percent in contact to make a judgement on the brakes
maybe they were miss-adjusted ? - I have about 1000 miles on my 2019 and I still have to watch out about pressing the front brake too much . It is super responsive and a little goes a long way . If I am not careful each time - I get too much bite and more compression on the forks than I wish
Can't wait to see the Kawasaki Z supercharged!
I am considering this as a 2nd bike. Thanks for the review.
Kudos!
bought one of those beauties like a month ago barely did my first service its just amazing was between the mt but this one its just an eye catcher plus with a full exaust damn no doubt its the best 2019 naked sport bike
Best naked sport bike? Are you high or...... ?
@@silviusoporan9556 you dont know how to read or are you high?
serious mate you can idle down to 40kph in TOP, turn into a sllllow corner and just roll on and it goes thru and boom up the road.
Have one and love it. Agree with most of ur points.
I am considering one. Yamaha XSR 900 or this one? pondering. will have to test both.
@@amotorcyclerider3230 Dude definitely z900 dominates over Yamaha the Japanese engine is all you need
But i cant ride them to get a feel for them because of everything going on right now.
got the gsxs 750, you won't regret for sure
@@maddave7547 Okay cool. Im looking for one right now

Same here!
I’ve been able to demo that bike 5 times and it blows me away every time. I find myself daydreaming about that bike.
Could you make a review on 2020 kawasaki z900..?
the brakes you trying is not broken in yet, so they need some time for pads and discs to adjust themselves.
Debating between the two and will probably go Z900 because I like the lower sitting seat. More aggressive looking.
She has great breaks when combined with engine break
That’s exactly right he just didn’t read the owner’s manual first like every rider should do
Have you ridden the new Triumph street triple RS? I know you had a Triumph before and would love your thoughts on 765..

I love the camera mounted to a turtle panning shot
I have the 2019 Z1000 i absolutely love it it was my first bike, what's the deal on test riding bikes can you test ride any or do you have to pay to test ride not that id change mine just be nice to try some different ones to compare.. great review on this bike.
My next bike! Also the cheapest insurance out of every bike I've looked at so far (CB650, FZ07, FZ09, CB1000, GSXS)

I have Geico and it is about $290 with $250 deductible on collision and comprehensive ...
Other bikes or companies were about $ 1000 or more for less coverage .
Tested one of this bike back in 2018 and i loved it
Z900 with aftermarket exhaust is probably pretty great, loose some weight, get way better sound and gain couple more horsepower.
Z900 for me, It is an awesome bike
Gonna take it easy, being respectful to the dealer as it only has 11 miles, then redlines it everywhere !!
He is a jerk!
Good video. Bro you gotta get on a supersport liter bike... they pull harder than anything else you can experience. The first few times riding one will scare you
The fz09 has similar low end torque and is close to being as quick as most liter bikes in the quarter mile. You should ride one. They are nuts for the price.
Nice video! Love your test rides. Maybe you can get a FZ-10 would be awesome. Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Oh thats awesome! Would you recommend the z900 over the GSXS 750?
Max Damage “suzuku”
Lol
Would you be able to test ride the new BMW F900 R thank you
Ya I think i could do that this year!
Almost got this before i found my FZ-10. still kind of want one.
Great video great bike I have the 2019 Yamaha XSR 900 sister same bike to MT 09 While the Kawasaki does make 125 hp rather than 110 or so from the Yamaha Yamaha offers traction control three different modes Also three different driving modes plus ABS and it’s 430 pounds wet so yes the Kawasaki is a little more power the Yamaha has a whole lot more features safety wise and a much better dash system
Both are incredible bikes great video thanks for all the information keep it going
Ugh.
Hey, quick question. This or the Honda CB650R? Some reasons to validate the answer would be appreciated too!
Ryan McCarthy CB650R all day. It doesn’t have as much power or torque. All the components from the LED dash, upgraded suspension, brakes make it so much for bang for buck. It also just felt so smooth and flickable. A bike you can ride anywhere and have so much fun
@@ShakeNBlake509 whoa, that was quick! Thanks! 😇👍🏻
For me is kawa Z 650 enough, I am happy drive max in 210 km/ h!
@Z1000 Power Lifter No, is 130mph
That bike is beautiful 😍 also from the Spokane area! Love westside
The Banks Films The Z900 is insanely noticeable. Torque and horsepower would absolutely blow you away compared to the 650
Nice bikke and great video. What a beautiful area you're in! East Washington state?
Spokane
Both bike are great just depends on what you want, they are for different personalities.
Great machine 💚🤙
the z900 and cb1000r, if price were not an issue, would be direct competitors. the cb has 120 peak hp. the z has 115. but the real difference only reveals itself if you look at a dyno graph. the z has a much better curve, and much earlier torque delivery. on naked bikes, it's mainly about low-end torque, not peak hp.
at 3k the cb has just under 50 ft-lbs, and the z has just over 50 ft-lbs.
at 4500, the cb actually has a HUGE dip in torque, from nearly 58 back down to 50. while the z passes 60 and keeps going up.
they weigh about the same, so those numbers are directly comparable.
but then of course, you have to ask the price... cb = $13k. z = $8.4k. i actually got mine (2018 abs) for $7.8k AFTER taxes.
with that difference in price, it's no contest. there is zero reason to ever buy the cb1000r.
The CB has 143 hp, the Z has 126?
been really liking your videos, my girlfriend has the z900, if you ever make it to northern cali you're welcome to test ride my fz-10
Test ride the GSX-S1000. I think is the best of the naked bikes.
Have you tried the gsx-s1000 Suzuk naked?
Which is more fun this or your a FZ...trying to decide. Which has smoothest throttle?
I am bias because I have the FZ. You would be happy with either, smoother throttle on the Z900 though.
I think its in competition with the GSX-S 1000 as i am deciding between them right now
Seeing the BHP figures maybe competition for the 750 there in the same power band, i maybe go for the 1000 as the BHP is in the ballpark at 150 or so, right around my fz1
This motorcycle looks like those hunchback German Shepard’s.
it seems the paint was reminiscent from the ninja h2 2016.
Been riding a ninja 300 for the past 2 years, should I get the z900 or that would be too much power and rather get the z650?
I'd get the 900. Just always know your limits!! You can always grow into it.
The Mongoose I always put one foot down because I’m short. But I always put my right foot down so I don’t have to change feet to shift.
Looks better than the MT09, particularly the seat. I reviewed an MT09 Tracer the other day (yet to be edited & posted up) and I wasn't overly impressed, if I'm honest.
have you tested the Suzuki GSXS-750 or 1000?
The 750 is a dog. The 1000 is a WONDERFUL bike.
Fish eye is weird, we can't even get a good shot of the bike with the superview mode.

I want to get the case covers that Simon videoed about one of these days after I save up some more money . And another day maybe get the fancy tail light - however - I think I would want to keep the original turn signals in place - since the LED lights draw much less current than the originals - I believe that I should be able to splice into the turn signal source and connect all of them at the same time . Since all the intelligence for the custom tail light is in the tail light ( I assume ) then the original turn signals should work as usual .
I'm up here in Jax - waiting for my Delkevic DL10 to arrive on Friday . I don't want it to be much louder thank stock because I don't want to be waking up the neighbors every night when I go to work ... and I actually think it looks very nice, on the bike, in the picture :

I got a couple of horns and a relay wiring harness - I will attempt to string it along the right bottom of the fuel tank ... The Kawasaki dealer wanted to charge me two hours labor to put it in ...

Gigantic Weiner I have droven 35.000 km on my 2017 Z900 (abs) performance . And that is up north, in Norway.
Soon with full exhaust, powercommander V and quichshift.
Better and a lot more expensive, too.

ShakeNBlake awesome ! Thanks for the reply, I appreciate the info 🤙🏻
I love yves z bikes. I want a z650 but I kind of hate the sewing machine motor.
I like the styling of the z bikes more than the mt bikes but I liked the mt07 motor much better than the z650
