I don't think I can even imagine how delicate and subtle the flavor must be. With a heavenly texture I'm sure. What a blessing you get to do this. And by doing so you bless all of us with a peak into this world of tradition, history, colorful characters and of course flavor!
I’m drooling. My mom and uncles would help my great grandma make ravioli from scratch. She immigrated to Worcester MA from the Piedmonte region. We still have her very large wooden board, rolling pin and ladle. Looks like I need to try it!
How stunning the ladies look in their beautiful dresses. Wonderful delicious food made with love….the saffron ironing was awesome & that wooden beater was something I’d never seen before. I have been taking my iPad with me when I visit my friend who suffered a stroke & is in residential care so that I can play her your videos. She absolutely loves them, as do her friends & I’m sure they’re playing a huge part in her recovery due to the pure joy she gets from watching them. Thank you so much Vicky & all involved in bringing us these lovely videos
The sweetness of these ravioli are only surpassed by the sweetness of these women arm in arm at then end of the video. How deliciously lovely. Thank you.
What a delicious spread . It was such fun watching Signoras Marina, Maristella and Margherita, help each other making this dish, with such good cheer, love and warmth. Loved their traditional dress , the pretty baskets on their kitchen walls. Tempting , glazed pottery all over the kitchen table, . .which I am dying to hold Thank you Pasta Grannies ❤
I honestly thought these ravioli were to be a dessert course. How surprising to see tomato sauce being prepared to dress them. So unique and I’m sure those three lovely ladies prepared a fantastic dish! 🤗♥️🍝
What intriguing flavors, really speaking to a sunny Sardinian afternoon! I was delighted to see the extra egg whites were not wasted, reinforcing the practice of thriftiness in great cooks! Thank you Vicky as always charming!
I really appreciate your efforts to bring thesr talented and unique ladies on screen. Recipe is great savory and sweet at the same time. Her kneading machine is very interesting and rare I have never seen before and to dry saffron with iron is very different idea I learnt a lot from this episode .I really appreciate your all efforts . Waiting for next episode ❤ you
I love the combination of flavour in this dish they sound like a great marriage and something of the Arabic influence to me with the sweet and savoury combination which does work so very well. Now we have to find a manufacturer for that amazing dough kneader! Thank you everyone, so very interesting. Ramon x
hi Ramon, I did a google search a few years ago and I think there's one firm in Sardinia who still makes the 'mangle' dough beater. It's a big piece of kit and one usually spots them in the 'second' cantina kitchen where all the heavy-duty prep goes on in country homes. 🙂🌺 best wishes, Vicky
@@pastagrannies How very interesting, yes I can see how a machine like that would look very at home in a large country house. So good to hear that someone still carries the tradition of making them onwards. Vicky you have a curious mind as I do. Thank you. Ramon.
What was the name of that enamel pan? I could not quite make it out and the transcript on youtube didn't translate very well. The food looks fascinating
Thanks for sharing! What would you recommend for the egg in the filling? The ingredients for the halved recipe in the caption doesn’t have eggs. Do we just leave it out, if it’s halved?
So interesting to see how it’s done in their native countries. I’m a lover of sauce and pasta, never get enough. The color of the sauce was so delicate, the ricotta just perfect and I love orange flavor. Was surprised to see a red sauce though as it was a sweet dish. Wonder what a sweet sauce would taste like, like in pumpkin ravioli. Kitchens never smell so good as a great pan of sauce simmering away in the stove! Mmmmm
I will NEVER get tired of watching this channel.

She's 82? OMG she looks way younger, I'm often amazed by the age of these "grannies" and how agile and bright they are.
Good genes + good friends + good passata
That is what good food, work, friends, family and lovely weather does ☺
I've probably watched at least 50 different granny's make pasta and each one I can honestly say, is a Master!
I’m drooling. My mom and uncles would help my great grandma make ravioli from scratch. She immigrated to Worcester MA from the Piedmonte region. We still have her very large wooden board, rolling pin and ladle. Looks like I need to try it!
This is such a special episode. The Pasta Grannies and Vicki are the most reassuring bunch of ladies. All is well after they cook through an episode.
thank you Judith! 🙂🌺🌺 best wishes, Vicky

@@pastagrannies thank you again Vicky 🙏🏻
When the saffron was ironed and then the envelope opened and shown... it was in the shape of a heart! A lot of love went into this recipe! 💖
I have become Pavlov's dog. When the music starts I'm instantly happy and hungry! This is a recipe I will definitely make.
😁😁😁
What a beautiful trio. It is not possible that she is over 80 years old. She looks so young. Absolutely my preferred channel.
I look forward to seeing your videos every Friday. Thank you so much to you all and the grannies for making my weekend ❤❤❤

Molto bene - il mio preferito posto nel monde è Sardegna. È una isola bella con la gente bellisima.
Daughter and I made this over the weekend (except without the sugar.) I've never eaten tomato and orange together before, but it works.
I am glad you enjoyed the ravioli! Best wishes Vicky
Nel campidano (altra zona della Sardegna) li prepariamo secondo tradizione senza zucchero.

I love the traditional Italian Covid bowl at 2:29 :D
😂
Do you now have a dedicated Sardinia crew? Amazing 😊
Lynn Stoughton Pelkey we need to try this recipe !!
It's incredible she is 82. She look at least 20 years younger
Ich liebe euere Videos sehr❣😍
Adoro questo canale❤️
Tesori!❤
Thank you for this video :)
Amazing

I would love to make this recipe. I wish I had sardinian ricotta. The US is not a good place to find really good ricotta.
yes, it's tricky in the States. Have you tried making it yourself? Or maybe you have a local dairy close to you? best wishes, Vicky
I will check out your suggestions. thanks!@@pastagrannies
Marina is so pretty and young looking.

Ferro smaltato & yes they’re stunning pans aren’t they??

The three ladies working together remember the three erinias from greek mithology

Nonna ❤❤ Marina is my grandmother
Ciao Fabio è stato un grande piacere incontrare la tua nonna Marina! 🙂🌺 best wishes, Vicky
And also, no plastic wrap!
Orange flower water also would work for the filling
what is the tool she used to move the ravioli from the serving bowl to the plate?!
using an iron to toast--genius!
🤗💐🙏
Thank you, is something vegetarian...
Filled with WHAT and WHAAAT?
I guess I’ll try it.
💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞💞😘🇬🇷
82???? She doesn't look a day over 65!!
