The thing about Clawdeen being "Confirmed" lesbian is that the original creator saw the fan theory, explained that Clawdeen was intended to not be as "Boy Crazy" as her friends, but then he said that he fully supports the fan theory and hopes that people continue to celebrate what they can find in characters like this... unfortunately, the original creator is no longer actively part of the Monster High team so it's technically not "Canon"
Ok i didnt know that, so weirdly enough that makes me feel better about the reboot. While I wish Clawdeen was still fruity, its good to know that the OG creator didnt chose that.
@@woggersonsawesome4916 It’s also possible that Clawdeen is Bi or Pan in this new reboot, which I think would be really amazing! The announcement of Frankie being non-binary makes me super excited for the possibility of queer representation in the new Gen 3 series.

This actually makes me happy, because I personally headcanon Clawdeen as aroace. To me she just seems completely uninterested in romance and relationships that aren't her friends and family. I'll admit there are definitely moments that show she is interested in some people, and that at the very least she is bi considering that moment in Ghouls Rule where she said Draculuara's cousin Vlyad is attractive and did attempt to form some type of relationship between them. But Aroace Clawdeen (or on the aro spectrum) is my absolute favourite headcanon.
In my opinion, Lagoona deserves better.

Interestingly, there’s an indication in either a monster high book or doll diary that Rochelle Goyle was crushing hard on Deuce after she saw his eyes because she’s stone and he can’t turn her into stone. It could work because Deuce is a fun, chill guy and Rochelle is mostly serious but she does have moments where she has fun and can goof off, so there is a dynamic of opposites attract.
i think it was rochelle's diary but tbh i don't ship them ONLY BECAUSE rochelle was canonically with garrot (her parisian bf) and was feeling lonely due to the long distance

honestly i disagree with you on ghoulia and cleo…. i think they’re kinda perfect for each other. ghoulia is heavily neurodivergent-coded so maybe they just have different ways of communicating. cleo can be really mean but we also know that it can be her way of showing affection. and nobody else but her can be mean to ghoulia, because cleo is protective of her. i don’t think they would be as inseparable as they are if cleo actually bullied ghoulia. i will forever stand for the smart girl x fashion girl ship
As a 9 year old autistic girl I was so jealous of their friendship. The webisode where Cleo gets her servants to win the Dead Fast comic for Ghoulia made me cry lol.

The Cleolei ship was really cemented with Freaky Fusion for me. So much energy between the two. Twyla and Howleen in 13 Wishes was adorable, a total dreamer with a levelheaded reality check.
Porter and Spectra were so goofy and I love them.
Claire and Jackson just made sense, since she could rock out with Holt but also show more of her caring side with Jackson. An ideal pairing.
Cleo and Deuce, OTP for sure.
However, I feel like they only added in Clawd to dispel the romantic tension between Draculaura and Clawdeen. They literally made a male Clawdeen to pair with Draculaura. That is the main reason I don't ship those two in the higher categories (they were at their best in Frights, Camera, Action).
Much like I refuse to ship anyone with Izuku Midoria/ Deku, I refuse to ship anyone with Frankie. It would start too many fights and I am not committed to the energy of either.

About MH and Clawdeen:
MH characters were not just created by Garret. There were entire teams, each focusing on something different and influencing the others (directly or indirectly). For example, the animation teams were not contacted as much by people, who worked on characters' diaries and personalities.
In other words, who knows who really created Clawdeen in the first place and what they wanted her to be (we lack solid info about it). Garret (as far as I am aware) was one of the people who worked on designs, not personalities. He was the one (and only one) to express his opinion regarding Clawdeen's sexuality.
Garret (and the other designers) did actually work on the story elements with the diary team. Garret oversaw all of the diaries up until he no longer worked on the franchise, so he did have say over and helped with the story.

@@berrystein9197 He talked about it in his Instagram Q+A. The designers would work with the diary authors to develop the ideas for the characters and overarching stories. When asked where the characters personalities came from Garret said "The designers and copywriters would work together to create them!" I can't find the specific quote where he said he oversaw all the diaries at the moment but I remember him posting it. But I did find where he said he at least worked with the diary author in developing the characters he designed, which Clawdeen is one of.
@@thatponighoul So, if this info is true, Clawdeen's hobby of flirting with boys was (at least to an extent) approved by him.
Also, I do have to say that people working on animations can add new stuff to characters and/or lore. Best examples I can give are 1) the colour of the MH High School and 2) the clip with Astranova talking to Apple and Raven at the end of Boo York (which Garret clearly said was not planned).
@@berrystein9197 Yes that does mean that it was planned by him, but it also means that he changed his mind about the character he himself created and has a different plan for her now. And yes the people on the animation team definitely put in a ton of hard work and deserve to be acknowledged!
my favorite ship that I don't see a lot is Clawdeen x Venus!! both are bold, passionate, stylish and have massive lesbian energy! they interact a lot.. well, kind of interact, in Monster Fusion (because they're fused together) and learn more about their differences and working together :))

Scarah and Invisi Billy! They got a brief mention in 13 Wishes but mostly live in the webisodes. And Ghoulia writing a computer program to help her choose between Slo Mo and Don of the Dead, but there was a bug in her code so it tried to pair her with a Heath - wild times.
The tea on Valentine is he was going to be a gay man suffering some SERIOUS internalised homophobia and that was why he was on a mission to break girls’ hearts, but the network put their big “no gay” foot down so now he’s just a shallow idiot. Neighthan was planned to be gay too, though not nearly as dramatically, and similarly had that part of his backstory ousted. As for Clawdeen being confirmed a lesbian, Garrett Sanders just said he liked the fan theory, but she was only written to be not as boy crazy as Frankie, Draculaura, Cleo, etc.
You know something about G3 that people either never mention or either only briefly mention: The Slavophobia. I think you should make a video on the Slavophobia of the changes made to Drac and Abbey, specifically Americanizing them, and talk about how Deuce may have had an Americn accent despite being Greek, he gets to still definitely stay greek, meaning the non Slavic Eastern European is okay, and how Lagoona was changed to a different nationality (Colombian) but wasn't made American, as ways of pointing out the cherry picking an making it more obvious. Especially would help if you read some Slavs criticism of these changes too. And yes Abbey's Russian. Her relatives are Frostovitch and Blitnichik, a supposed Himalayan celebrity she mentions is Anton Yaklovitch, she says "IN village we have name for this: preluvnachihnatchkovitch" in why do ghouls fall in love? and of course her accent, so she's Russian, Mattel just called her a yeti and put yak and mountain jokes on her and people are quick to disregard the blatant proof. As for the recent claims the accents were stereotypicl and mocking, point out how only now have people pulled that excuse, how plenty of cartoon foreigners have accents and don't get cancelled, point out how a Hungarian girl mentions that foreign accents should be normalized, not shamed and cut, and how she ends with "calling someone's accent offensive is not okay", because it's not accurate but not offensive at all.
As well as how people say "but she's adopted she could still be part romanian" when she so far has no signs of that, but all the signs of being American. And maybe mention the "Asians are all copies and indentical" thing with G3 Drac, who's supposed to be the same, being Filipino in the movie and Taiwanese in the cartoon, and how Filipinos were essentially baited. Maybe also mention my Filipino OC that proves you can have the same rep without changing the characters that already have established backgrounds and lore:

(Clawdeen and Deuce are the new pair in Monster High: The Movie.) I'm actually excited for Monster High: The Movie, but I do have a few things I don't like. I did a few videos on it. THE TRAILER LOOKS SO GOOD! The songs I've heard so far are good. (I hate what they did to Lagoona and the Clawdeen and Deuce relationship.) But the storylines are intriguing and I'm excited for it!

sadly the trailer for the new live action movie is definitely a let down 😭 firstly, we've got the fact that there's only two of the mansters really in it, which is CRAP. those two being, deuce and heath. i absolutely love both of them, but i cannot express how much i hate clawd being kicked out of ANOTHER movie. and no gill?? hold my hoops.
as for the ships...it looks like the only ship they've really got going as of right now is DEUCE and CLAWDEEN. WHY. the creator of mh, garret sander, said that [talking about clawdeen] "...but as the line went along her never showing interest in boys became a great thing!..." he goes on to say that although it was not his initial thought process for clawdeen, that he loves the idea of clawdeen being a lesbian. he ends his post saying "so run with it and celebrate it!" and now that she's no longer the fierce ghoul who takes little to no interest in guys that we all know and love, it became borderline offensive to many of the fans, because a once so relatable and funny character, is now the new "frankie". she's the main-main character now, and she's not at all sassy and an absolute fashionista. shown to be shy, nerdy, and basically just the whole classic main character package. not much has changed with deuce, tho!! i'm incredibly salty about him and cleo not being a couple tho. he even tells clawdeen not to "worry about cleo" because she's just mean or smtg. idrk but him and cleo aren't really on the best terms which makes me VERY sad.
and yk, since clawd isn't in it there's obviously no draculara x clawd, which sucks 😭

The reason why people say Clawdeen is a confirmed lesbian is because Garret Sander, the creator of Monster High, did a q&a on instagram and one fan asked about Clawdeen being a lesbian I think and he said he hadn't thought about it but really liked the idea, so people just ran with it lmao
Regarding some ships I'm actually mad to what they did to gil and lagoona, like they could have been really cute and have an interesting story dynamic. The start of their relationship in the webisodes was cute and the fact that they're from different races could have been interesting but at some point their relationship became just that, that they're from different races. Not to mention Gil being toxic to lagoona sometimes :/
I also liked Frankie with Jackson/Holt but I prefered Holt more bc yes 😩
Interesting tidbit: Jackson was actually paired up with Torelai of all ghouls in a prom event back in 2014. It was called "A Night in Scare-adise" and it even had it's own website that updated weekly (for six weeks) with info and polls to decide stuff for the prom.
I really wish monster high went deeper into Claude and draculauras relationship like cleo and deuce but not everything needs to be serious and it still delivers.

It's been a while since I watched a monster high movie, and this video makes me want to get back into my monster high phase. I remember back when I was really into monster high clawd and draculaura and spectra and porter. I was so salty that spectra and porter basically only got one movie and then were never seen again, like there barely in the background.
Thanks for putting Lagoona and Gil up there I hate when ppl put either one down or say Lagoona could do better cause they hate Gil. I mean these are supposed to be teenagers and it’s his parents not him. I think it shows a relationship where the parents don’t approve but they still try to overcome that. I personally don't hate Deuce x Frankie, and this is mainly because of a specific comic I saw recently where Deuce accidently made eye contact with her, but she didn't turn to stone because they weren't "her eyes" technically. She then told him "You have really beautiful eyes" and that just kinda hit me like a ton of bricks. I do still have a preference for Cleo x Deuce in comparison, but Deuce x Frankie is still valid imo. I also feel like a slightly underrated ship is Kiyomi x Draculara. While admittedly, it can be read as one-sided feelings on Kiyomi's part, I do think they would still be cute together. Honestly, a lot of the characters in the show work for multiple ships, so I'm not too pressed about the variety or choosing one pair for a character (except for Spectra and Porter, I feel like that one is pretty cut and dry for an OTP).

I was a bit bitter watching the new series change everything I knew, especially full personalities for some characters and erasing others, but seeing how those two were together and how it just felt natural was so cute that I couldn’t help but love it!
Clawdeen was never confirmed to be a lesbian but her creator did say they enjoyed the fan takes on her being apart of the lgbt+ community. They also stated she was never suppose to be as “boy crazy” as the rest of the girls. Hence why we never see her date (ignoring the reboot movies). Valentine was suppose to be gay the creator got told “it wasn’t the right time for it” and “your first confirmed lgbt+ member can’t be a villain”. Valentine was also supposed to have a bf named Spelldon-he never got brought to the screen but he is mentioned in Valentines diary entries (not as his bf but Valentine does say some incredibly telling things about having a crush on him). Valentine being gay was actually suppose to be a big part of his character development because he was suppose to learn that he had internalized homophobia and that’s why he leaned so heavily into tricking women to love him. Then when he learned to love and accept himself then he didn’t need to trick girls anymore.
One of my personal favorite ships is Holt/Jackson/Deuce. I just think they bring out good things in each other and are really supportive. Plus, I like to think that Deuce can look at Jackson because his glasses are so thicc

When they first meet, Cleo teases her and humiliates her constantly.
Cleo hated her in the fist episodes, though admiting she was good at cheerleading and qualified for her team but continuously avoiding to say it out loud.
When at a certain point Frankie came to apologize to Cleo about something she did accidentally, Cleo interrogated her a bunch of questions about her interests and Frankie's answers were good enough for her last question to be if Frankie had a boyfriend, to which she said yes pointing to Deuce and then Cleo left fuming.
It’s interesting to think that, at that moment when she felt jealous about the situation she could be having second thoughts about WHO she was jealous of, Deuce or Frankie.
There is also an episode in which the ghouls are at a sleepover and Cleo insists on knowing who's Frankie's crush with “truth or scare”, everytime she does it, Frankie gets nervous and gets an electric reaction or something.
Also later on the show when they become “friends”, Frankie is the only person that can talk Cleo into not giving up on cheerleading, constantly reassuring her of her leadership abilities.
Not to mention the moment when they first meet and Cleo does that thing with the finger on her chin and I thought it was hot.

Honestly, even at such a young age, I always had a liking towards Clawdeen and Toralei. Pretty much to the point where I started freaking writing a fanfic of them XD. I'm always a sucker for opposite attractions, whether it's by personalities, backgrounds, history etc and both of them definitely have that with the whole "dog/cat" thing. Plus, I just think there could be so many interactions between them that we had never even thought of. Also, the drama and slight angst there relationship could have is just ripe with possibilities.
