(Spoilers in this post) Being completely honest, in Dexter, Carpenter put on the greatest performance I have ever seen from any actor or actress in my life. No book, movie, or TV show has ever made me feel closer to a fictional character than I did to Debra Morgan. If there was one person I knew I was always rooting for during that show it was Deb, and I just can't believe how well Carpenter made her come alive. When an actress' performance can actually make you care about a character that isn't real to the point that you tear up during their death, that's how you know they've done a great job. Thank you, Jennifer.
She really was phenomenal. I don't remember which episode it was in but there was one with a think a drug dealer or relative of a drug dealer where something happened and she freaked out and just started bawling that was just so ridiculously authentic. Almost nobody I've ever seen in anything has done something like that so well.
Agree she was awesome and best character by far Dexter wasnt even close, they fucked up the ending so hard if there was one character who should have had happy ending it was her.Showtime interfered with ending, they butchered Dexter series and considering what they did to some other good shows i am never watching their shit again.
She made me feel bad about her life in Dexter. And I was all emotional about her death. Dexter made me connect with the show. Not many shows are on that level.
AM loki is she diverse enough to deserve a much bigger acting career? Exorcism of Emily Rose we thought showed us that. Now she just goes where the work is and that is a type cast badass cop who doesn't take s*** off of people...... I think that's the extent of her career
here is what I like about opinion: it is just your opinion. Of course, everyone's opinion is based on something but mine was based on the 2015 tv series Limitless. She acted great in that, hence, I personally think she should work more harder to be a much renowned actress. If she is doing that, good for her. If she is not, it's up to her too. It's her choice but I would love to see any movies or tv series that she had a role in it, when I have my free time of course.
Love her so much. She REALLY needs an Emmy already. They better freaking give her one (that AND a Golden Globe!) for the last season of Dexter. I thought she deserved one in season 4 for the phenomenal acting job she did especially regarding the death of Lundy... yet she didn't even get nominated! What is wrong with these people?!
I could not agree with this comment any more. I can't think of a more intensive scene in all my years of television watching than the shooting of LaGuerta. There's certainly a huge wrongdoing for her not to have at least two Emmys on her mantle
The scene where she talks about Lundy's death with Dexter, when she says "I'm broken" is among the best acting I saw on TV. Incredible realism and pure emotion.
I don't think there is a better actress than Jennifer Carpenter in the history of television and film. I've never been so drawn in by any performance than I was with hers, time and time again.
Absolutely one of the most talented actresses out there like a lot of people I too am baffled as to how she isn't starred in more major roles she's beautiful and bloody talented as hell, her character Debra was just played to perfection she is just brilliant I miss her being Debra..
SPOILER: When she trashes Dexter apartment and realizes he is a serial killer, runs outside and throws up/cries at the same time, her performance was so visceral I was like fck me man I feel it
She is so unique and i find her alarmingly attractive. They say there are 7 identical people but not in her case. She is just the only one. She is beautiful in a weird way like individually her nose, lips and eyes are not great but the combination is fireworks for me. can't stop looking.
was so bummed how the series ended. just finished it last night..... turned onto the DVD set by a good friend. watched the whole thing in about 2 weeks.... around a 'disk' a night ( 4 or 5 episodes) but was so depressed and unhappy how things ended. especially with "Deb". then, Dex ends up....well...the way he did. talk about a fucking bummer..... still, what a great show. btw....call me a bit weird, but....i actually WANTED to see them get together. once they introduced that theme ( and the writer's 'knew' they were toying with the audience...) .... it kept everyone 'hanging on' for like 3 more seasons, believing that these two were meant for each other, and despite merely being 'non-biological-siblings....would profess their love for each other in that way. i was hoping....but...... :(
I've seen her in only 3 things, all of which are some of my favorite movies (and show) because of her incredible performances: Exorcism of Emily Rose, Quarantine, and Dexter.
she was the important part of Dexter show.. if she is out then dexter seasons is not gonna survive without her fckn nice acting....i love her the way she played all around in dexter season. show is incomplete without her...
The ending of dexteris his way of him punishing himself for all the evil he feels he has done now that hes more human. I loved how they chose to end it.
Until now. I was ok with him going in exile to punish himself, just not ok with noone ever knowing who he was. New blood's ending... want to pretend didnt happen
She is the most talented actress I have ever seen, by far. When I saw Dexter, her acting reminded me of Andre Braugher's Frank Pembleton in "Homicide". Just search Pembleton in the box. Hope you will see what I mean. The way they handle the character's emotions makes every scene come alive. Please come back for the return of Dexter. Really miss you, Jenn 😍😍😍
J. Carpenter is basically Debra Morgan in real life as well. Same character same everything. She's just natural for that type of role. Fun fact : Her and Michael C. Hall (Dexter) were married 2 years before the season finale and it lasted about 2 years total. so 2008 to 2010?
she is one of those persons where you look at in a film and you always wonder wheter she is pretty or not. And the longer you think about it, the prettier she gets. I like her finally!
why did she break up with Michael C. Hall, they made a good couple in real life...I hope Michael is doing better now after his fight with cancer, and Jennifer is a beautiful woman I love her sharp tongue and bossiness on the show! She takes bullshit from no one, badass Deb Morgan! lol
Man... It's beyond me how she isn't in more movies/shows. Mostly when I watch a movie I just think "yeah yeah you're sad and confused". Jennifer is on a whole other level... You can feel the frustration.
I completely cried my whole heart and soul out while watching the Dexter series finale, season 8, episode 12, titled "Remember The Monsters"? I never realized what a great show this was until now, I watched every season, on Showtime On Demand, I wished it could have ended another way for the characters Debbie, Dexter, Harrison, and Hannah. I would love to see the main characters of Dexter together in another series or movie.
She is the most unique woman in so many ways. She has the most unique magnetism....she is far removed from the rest of the pack in Hollywood. Her acting is beyond anything anyone is putting out there.......her performance in The Exorcism of Emily Rose was astonishing and it's the single most unsettling movie I've ever seen. She never appears to be deliberate with any of her techniques in front of the camera......so i doubt if shes a method actor. She's kinda like the person who gets overlooked with safe, easy movies but gets called up to do the ones that are hard, difficult and complex. She is just simply and utterly outstanding.
Jennifer did such an amazing job in "The Exorcism of Emily Rose". That was the first time seeing her in a movie and I've been a fan ever since. Looking forward to the new Dexter reboot happening this November 2021!
She is so pretty, and people need to stop saying she's built like a man or too thin, she seems naturally athletic and fit to me, and her face looks perfectly healthy unlike actual people with eating disorders. She's lovely and a great actress!
This woman is so beyond beautiful and in my opinion an outstanding actress. I do not understand how she does not have a bigger career than she does.
I think she does fine....great actress....
I want a season 9
we all do...
she has a lead role on a new Netflix show. Trust me she's doing pretty well for herself
yeah, any news on the new netflix series??
Her laugh is fucking adorable.

"Pale as a corpse, got it."

Don't forget she's an English Titty Vampire , and she's gross.
"She is obviously a vampire, a gross English, titty, vampire."
DextAAAARRR.
Her role on Dexter deserves so many awards. She killed that role 4 sure!
I see what you did there...
Naa she was ass
She said the f-word about 996 times in all episodes combined :)
Damn Jesse Pinkman only said "bitch" like 56 times throughout breaking bad

Dexter is the best show ever. Jennifer is one of the most underrated actresses ever.
Because of her giant head, which is bigger than anyone's in series
I love Dexter, but to say it's the best show ever is a stretch. Let's not talk about the horrible last season.

Met her and Seth one day randomly in my small town... She was really sweet and genuine and even knew my name. She's got a spark to her.
Who's Seth? Sorry I'm bad with this

She knew my name too, I married her.
Why did she know your name? Who are you?
her laugh is so damn cute. also funny how she seems to be camera shy but is such an amazing actress
Man, she has such an infectious, delightful laugh. It's hard not to want to laugh when she does. ^_^
i balled my eyes out in the finale, thanks to her, she was soooo good!
Finished it last night and woke up depressed today. It really hit me

I still can't believe The Bay Harbour Butcher is famous for being creepy, and antagonising and intimidating poor Dexter with "surprise moutharucka"!
