Jordan Belfort when you play a character for such a long time you begin to relate and gain aspects or features from that character. I can agree with this as I've played a role for theatre and you begin to become quite attracted to the character and it almost becomes apart of you.

Satan I agree with you. It's not just that he doesn't change his voice at all, he just overall seems to be similar in temperament to his character. Seeing him in Six Feet Under and in interviews you can tell he's not putting on much of an act with Dexter, with the exception of the serial killer thing.

They should've scratched the ending of season 8 and done season 9 which focuses on Miami Metro closing in on Dexter and ends with him getting caught. To see the everyone's emotional reactions at Dexter being the Bay Harbor Butcher would've been a perfect climax and utilization of the eight year long built up suspense the audience has felt for Dexter being exposed for a killer. Such a waste of potential to what could've been, one of the best TV shows ever.

I was quite confused about the reason which he abandoned them, he said something about protecting them, however he no longer felt the need to kill any more, so was therefore a better person than before.

I am one of the few that liked the ending to Dexter. I thought it fit the show's theme pretty good because at the beginning of the show Dexter was a loner with no emotional attachments but as the show went on he began to love the people around him but his murderous side won't allow that. t the end of the show he is more of a loner than he was at the beginning which I liked. The one thing I would changed is Quin and Bautista finding out that Dexter was the bay Harbor Butcher when he kills that guy in the interrogation room instead of just shrugging it off. I would have liked to have someone find out that Dexter was a killer but can't arrest him because he left. Other than that the ending was well done. When Dexter has to let Deb die was one of the most heartbreaking moments in TV.

You can't escape reality. A happy ending would have been too unrealistic. Rita, Doakes, Laguerta - all innocent people who died because of his actions. You don't get a happy ending when killing people is more important than your loved ones.

Died funny… funny as in meta-funny ending, at the writer’s expense, of the series where the writers tried to fake out the viewers in an unfunny way just to make the point that Dexter didn’t deserve a good ending because of how horrible of a person he is, because they’re a bunch of virtue signaling lame-asses who are too lazy to write a few more episodes and bring David Zayas, Lee, King, all the other cast back for a few flashback sequences or ghost apparitions.

Toward the end of the season I saw a different side of Dexter...or maybe I just saw how he affected everyone around him in a negative way...which broke my heart. It made me second guess how I looked at him for prior seasons. I understood the ending. Probably needed to happen that way. I think it would be amazing to get a young Dexter series...or a Harrison series later in life.
i wouldn't let myself watch any interviews with him until after i finished the show so i didn't ruin his character for myself and i'm so glad i made that choice. Except now, i can't help but think of him as anyone except dexter. michael c hall is just a disguise ;)
Dexter new blood was even more of a disservice than the original ending. In a sadly ironic way, they did make Dexter's ending better. NB ending was so abysmal that the original S08 ending looks way better in comparison LMAO.

Nearly all of these ideas are better than the two separate finales that we got.
I always wanted Dexter to kind of get away with it, foreshadowing that Harrison would ask Hannah about the past and him discovering he was a murderer.

They didn't kill dexter
Dexter didn't get caught
They still left the ending "open" if for whatever reason, do decide to make another season.
They wanted to end the show before it became shit, as the story writers were running out of ideas.

Died funny… funny as in meta-funny ending, at the writer’s expense, of the series where the writers tried to fake out the viewers in an unfunny way just to make the point that Dexter didn’t deserve a good ending because of how horrible of a person he is, because they’re a bunch of virtue signaling lame-asses who are too lazy to write a few more episodes and bring David Zayas, Lee, King, all the other cast back for a few flashback sequences or ghost apparitions.

@@minliminli502 this is a deep question. I enjoyed the season. Toward the end of the season I saw a different side of Dexter...or maybe I just saw how he affected everyone around him in a negative way...which broke my heart. It made me second guess how I looked at him for prior seasons. I understood the ending. Probably needed to happen that way. I think it would be amazing to get a young Dexter series...or a Harrison series later in life.
It's so funny seeing him showing emotions and stuff. Whole 8 seasons he didn't. Just finished. Cried a bunch. Now I m here.

It's so weird seeing someone I view as unemotional and inhuman being so human.
i wouldn't let myself watch any interviews with him until after i finished the show so i didn't ruin his character for myself and i'm so glad i made that choice. Except now, i can't help but think of him as anyone except dexter. michael c hall is just a disguise ;)

Dexter new blood was even more of a disservice than the original ending.
In a sadly ironic way, they did make Dexter's ending better. NB ending was so abysmal that the original S08 ending looks way better in comparison LMAO.
