Hey, this might be a stupid question, but how do you get the powder on the part where it's being suspended from? Like if you're hanging it from a wire, how do you get it under the wire where it's holding on to the part? Can you move it without running off the powder? Thanks
Wow, I have to get one. I just restored my 4th dirt Bike and I sand and prime everything before taking it to a Guy who has a Custom Cycle Shop. I'd rather do it myself. Love Painting.. Thanks for the Video...
Hi there, nice things you do there. do you know anything about epoxy coating???? they used to put "iron mostly" parts in a pool with epoxy to make it high resistant for many years to rust. True is using it in his refrigerator wire shelves. it supposed to be more resistant from powder coating
Hey John great video! I really didn't know it was this easy to get professional results at home, especially without using compressors and and other expensive hardware! Thank you again for this informative vid! Nick. :)
i know Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any help you can offer me.
@Tristen Bryce I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Good day sir, is this better than eastwood powder coat gun? gonna use it for production use. but i cant afford a bigger machines since just planning to have small shop. thanks. btw very informative video!
Great vid, man. Never done any powder coating at all. Are there problems with all that powder in the air?? Meaning does it get on everything? Is it hard to clean up? And do you need a respirator or any other safety equipment? Can't wait to try this!!
Thanks for another great video!, now that you have used both types of powder coating methods ( compressed air and non ) which has shown to have the best results? With the least amount of waste?
hi john whe you say 400 degrees, you are talking in fahrenheit, right? means 205 degrees celsius right? because i am trying to find a toaster in eurpo that goes at least to 400 degrees celsius and can only find till 250 degrees in america you use fahrenheit thats why i think you must be talking in fahrenheit
great vid i'm very much interested in getting this system, a couple questions: what is the voltage rating/spec and could this system use the textured powders that give a gritty finish like the coating on the honda valve covers?
+Dividend -- I got one of these guns, but didn't have instructions. What do you use the two round pieces of foam for? Guess its to plug up the entrance and exit ports when switching canisters for different colors? New ones are not labeled as Craftsman.
Thanks for your videos man, very helpful. Do I really need a very powerful powder system to apply powder on 3'x3' steel sheets, or this sears guy will do the job? What u think chief?
Last night i was reading on instructables about using a garment bag as a spray paint enclosure. folds up and out of the way when done. I am sure if it was a good idea a shop vac could be hooked up to suck out the fumes, and out the window. I dont know how expensive a tank of nitrogen is to fill up at a welding shop, but it has no moisture dryer to get the moisture out. Now to ebay
Great videos, thanks for sharing your knowledge! Regarding the air compressor method vs non air compressor method. I saw the powder gun you use with the compressor on amazon.com for $160 in a kit. What advantages does the more expensive kit with a compressor provide over the cheaper non compressor kit? Thanks, Dek
This is even easier! I do have an air compressor but the mess in my homeshop makes it difficult to bring out for use - I intend to do the spray out of my home. Thanks for showing this.
Thanks for the response big guy. Your right I will have to pick up an oven. Since I do not have sand blaster. .could I use sand paper or a scotch Brite to scuff up my cage? Then wipe it down..dry it...and powder coat. Followed by 20-25min in an oven....sound right?
good video, Im waiting on my craftsman gun now, after watching your video I understand alot more now than what i learned on tons of sites i gone through, thanks a million
is powder coating heat resistant once it is cured, because i want to powder coat my motorbike exhaust system but i don't know if the heat from them would ruin the powder coating
Outstanding! I guess this set up will work for me...I want to powder coat my goalie mask cage from a polished stainless steel to white..can I bake it in my kitchen oven? Please get back to me. Thx
Use Krylon Fusion....prep the plastic correctly and be patient when paint cures... it works GREAT!!! I also use adhesive promoter to make the paint stick better.
Ya for sure...I will be doing cages 1st...both my own...one will be white, the other orange...I will make the order next week...pretty excited...You can chk out my channel to see some of the goalie masks Ive painted. The Oiler ones are mine...
its a bowl "or a tank for industry" you baptize the peace inside and after that you hang it to dry "probably room temperature" probably the bowls needing a heater , this epoxy chemical is developed to make high resistant in humidity "like a refrigerator wire shelve" because the standard way is to galvanize the steel and after that powder coat the shelve, while the other way was just to coat the steel with a plastic coating "similar to epoxy process" but with very few years of life.
I'm curious, does the set up with the air compressor give you a better/more durable finished part? What are the benefits to using the unit that requires a compressor vs. this one that doesn't? Thanks
hi great video was wondering if its ok to powder coat hard plastic. i recently bought an item that was hard plastic and it was powder coated white. it was a dj midi controller.
Hello, I've seen your video using the gun that requires compressor and this one. It seemed to me that the one requiring the compressor wasted less material, maybe since you could regulate the flow more? Is this correct or am I just having the wrong impression? Can the air flow be regulated on this Craftsman one? Thanks a lot for your videos and in advance for your response.
i would stay away from powder coating the actual exhaust system. I mean you can powder coat levers, rear sets, wheels, springs etc but nothing that gets too hot
Great video! Is there a way to order this item in Europe? I have looked on Ebay and Amazon but haven't found any shipping possibilities to Europe. Also just googling for companies which might sell this item in Europe didn't lead to any success so far. Anyone who did manage to order one in Europe?
Till today i never manage to learn the epoxy name, but is surely existing as true coating refrigerator shelves with it. the disadvantage will be for sure the fat material layer in not the same thickness, that will have impact in details. But its a solution for some things since galvanized is very dirty thing and of course its very difficult to send one or few peaces to galvanized If i ever learn the name i will pass you the information, if you learn it before me please don't forget me
John NYCCNC thanks for the link,i was hoping i could find one roughly near the same price u paid 35 dollar is around 21 pound just to experiment with ,the one in the link is a really good one and its like 200 dollars, bit to good for what i have in mind ha

Vasnished? I bought one last week online. They are still around for online purchase only. Just taken off the shelf at a Sears.
Thanks for the feedback. You have a great voice for the presentations. Good job !
I bought that about 4 years ago. works REALLY well. Powdercoated power supplies out of computers with it.
It’s a step by step demonstration on how to perform powder coating using easily accessible things. Keep up with the good work.
Ok, you've driven me over the edge! I'm going to give powder coating a shot. Thanks for the video and inspiration! Guy
Hey, this might be a stupid question, but how do you get the powder on the part where it's being suspended from? Like if you're hanging it from a wire, how do you get it under the wire where it's holding on to the part? Can you move it without running off the powder? Thanks
i want to know this too
There is a ground wire attached to the part. This causes the part to be grounded and then the powder coat is electronically attracted to the part.
Wow, I have to get one. I just restored my 4th dirt Bike and I sand and prime everything before taking it to a Guy who has a Custom Cycle Shop. I'd rather do it myself. Love Painting.. Thanks for the Video...
this is fantastic, definitely convinced me to perhaps invest in one for motorcycle parts
Hi there, nice things you do there. do you know anything about epoxy coating???? they used to put "iron mostly" parts in a pool with epoxy to make it high resistant for many years to rust. True is using it in his refrigerator wire shelves. it supposed to be more resistant from powder coating
Thanks John, this is great! For a project, I want to powder coat some ammo cans. Do you think that would be very hard?
Hey John great video! I really didn't know it was this easy to get professional results at home, especially without using compressors and and other expensive hardware! Thank you again for this informative vid! Nick. :)

Got my Craftsman PC gun for Christmas!
first i thoght it can be done only at a factory, im realy glad to see your demonstrationI Im going to try it at home very soon , thanks a lot.
Fantastic info. I've read gloves and using acetone work well to clean.
Dude, thank you so much for this video. It gave me everything I wanted to know. Many thanks for sharing this info with us.

How was the coverage where your hook was around the part? Did you just reshoot that or did it cover it with the hook there? Thanks..Looks good!
Excellent video, actually it was so good, I'm gonna order a kit and start powdercoating my own stuff, thanks
Thanks for another great video!, now that you have used both types of powder coating methods ( compressed air and non ) which has shown to have the best results? With the least amount of waste?
hi john
whe you say 400 degrees, you are talking in fahrenheit, right?
means 205 degrees celsius right?
because i am trying to find a toaster in eurpo that goes at least to 400 degrees celsius and can only find till 250 degrees
in america you use fahrenheit thats why i think you must be talking in fahrenheit
well done John -- only wish I could use to do my wheels -- toaster oven too small :)
Thank you so much very brief and precise video !
great vid i'm very much interested in getting this system, a couple questions: what is the voltage rating/spec and could this system use the textured powders that give a gritty finish like the coating on the honda valve covers?
Great video champ!
The powder cure schedule is based on PMT part metal temperature, the powder cure by the temperature of the part not the over, just an FYI
Just bought one of these. Thanks for the advice.

Is it okay to heat something in your normal kitchen oven if its large because I have something that is not going to fit in a toaster
Thx for sharing this video!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice video. Question: Is there any type of metal or surface that can NOT be powder coated? Steel, stainless, aluminum, copper, brass, magnesium, etc.
if i were to drop something that is powder coated on a hard and rough surface, will the paint chip? Thanks!
What do you recommend if you don’t have access to a sandblaster to prep your parts?
Nice video. Is it ok to powder-coat an anodized aluminum like the square or round tube?
Thanks. God bless you.

Quick Question: Can you cerakot using this method?
can i do this with steel, copper, brass or bronze? what happens to the place where the part is in contact with the paperclip hanger?
Hi could you tell me what happens to the mark left by the wire hook, do you have to do that bit again.
How do you charge the piece? I am looking to get this gun and coat, but I dont know how to charge it to attract the coat
that gun looks just like the one that i have the summit racing sales.
how well does this process work on firearms parts (ar15 lower etc)? Is it too thick compared to anodize?
hi great video was wondering if its ok to powder coat hard plastic. i recently bought an item that was hard plastic and it was powder coated white. it was a dj midi controller.
i.ebayimg.com/images/g/5t8AAOSw9mFWGWa7/s-l1600.jpg.
NYC CNC well he powder coated this just click on the link ul see. its hard plastic.
When powder coating large parts (too big for an oven), is it possible to cure the powder with a heat gun w/diffuser, infrared parabolic heater, etc?
Oh ya lol...where and what brand of powder paint can I get? Thx
Nice 👍🏼👍🏼
did it come with powder coating paint.
Would this work for a yeti cup? If so would it work to put it in just a regular oven at 400?
plastic parts will melt
Can i use this to powder coat a set of wheels?
actually no. what i should have asked is if the gun is 110V or dual voltage but thanks for the info still i definitely will be getting one of these

I saw another video where I got the impression that pressing more or less on the trigger speeds up or down the air...
I picked up the same toaster oven for $3 at the local thrift store :)
Won't that high temperature remove or alter the temper from the aluminium?
aluminum does not expand with temperature, also, aluminum is not a tempered metal
@@fordperfect1227 Obviously you're wrong.

can I paint rims with this
I mean I keep posting questions on your video...thank you for replying...Now...I have to find a big enough toaster oven to fit a goalie cage
does anyone know how much powder I would need to paint 4 19 inch wheels?
how can i get one of these in england? ive got an air compressor tho
