- Patrick Beverley is an amazing NBA story having gone from overseas to a 12 year career but what happened before all that is just as fascinating. The All-NBA player was on the verge of a deadened life when something tragic turned everything around.
I've heard that Pat Bev was poor with his family and that he grew up in a gang affiliated and drug dealing area, but that still didn't really explain to me why he took every challenge and opportunity in a personal way with most of the players that he has guarded. He likes to test players, trying to see how they will react to his antics. But then I started to realize with all the information in this video why his demeanor is the way it is, sometimes excessive. Once again, thank you Casey for another great vid explaining players' backgrounds and life before the league.

He's 6' feet. He needs that anger and to be a little Chihuahua with 6'6+ guys running around . He's all far from a NBA star. His defense isn't even good. It's more about being annoying and trash talking. Pissing people off to make mistakes.

Got some respect and the right to brag and then trash talk sometime somethings... But not all the respect... There are many ' sad' and inspiring stories inside the NBA ... And I would say Bev is one of many... And at the end you are what you harvest... Some times Bev's harvest does not look good.
