Dion Waiters was one of the most polarizing players in the NBA for about 10 years. He was definitely talented but left the league in his prime. Now he explains what happened and it’s both depressing and inspirational.

I've been in the same place as Dion. I studied hard in school but in university the result hit my ego, I started disregarding people and work, a lot of useless stuff took away my attention from studying. A few years passed and at one moment I realised the goals and life that I was expecting will never be here. Depression hit so hard that a thought of su&cide crossed my mind and I stayed emotionally paralysed for some time. It took my a lot of time to forget all the bad stuff and learn behaviour, remember the way I was in school.
Hope Dion stays on track even if not in the nba.

It was beautiful to see. Most people won't ever see that side of him. I don't know if I should have said that, but it made me think so much of what you hear about someone couldn't be far from the truth. Here was a millionaire NBA player taking time out alone in the middle of the night to pray and show gratitude to the Most High.

Would you dare put him in Memphis as a mentor style player with Ja? They have a enough games before Ja returns to feel him out and see if he is the new and improved version or if he would revert back to his old ways.its kinda a perfect fit really, most of all if his game is still at a high level so he could be a Dillion Brooks replacement because in game shape still in his prime he can go get 15 or more points a night especially in that offense. A prove it contract could give him bonuses if he is the new improved version and he could either be part of a 3 guard line up or come off the bench as a 6th man to help their depth for a playoff run

funny thing about 2012 draft is at the time it was seen as a really strong draft as leading players returned to college due to lockout the year before. i can remember big time prospects like kidd gilchrist, harrison barnes, jared sullinger, perry jones iv, thomas robinson, jeremy lamb and none met expectations although barnes has been a decent even underrated starter throughout his career. Only really Beal and AD had a great careers out of those expected- lillard came from nowhere. and for the same reason why people thought this draft would be great (freshman returning) is why they thought 2011 was weak. and that draft had some of the best players of the era- kyrie, klay, kawhi, jimmy butler
