They'd be paying the prices of entry level US made fender guitars for a lightly modded stripped down mim strat. I have a signature guitar on pre-order so I definitely understand paying the artist tax for fans. But they should ignore my comment anyways, if they want it they should get it. But you gotta admit $1300 was pushing the limit to the max considering the rest of fenders signatures
There’s a local premium guitar shop nearby where I live and they’ll receive new custom shop Fender guitars once per month with an *Average* price of CS Telecasters and Stratocasters snugly at $3,800. Some are priced over $5,000. That’s big money. I always wonder how good the CS strats sound compared to the American Professional and MiM lines
The “regular” MIM Strats are $850 right now. The brand-name Invader pickup is $100 if you buy it alone. You’re already basically at $1k, plus the fact that the fretboard is Rosewood which you can’t get with MIM guitars right now. I’m not saying everyone should think it’s worth the price but I also don’t think it’s a blatant ripoff: guitars are just expensive AF across the board right now, and many people came in with expectations that just don’t match the price of what guitars are going for right now.
I ordered one of these yesterday from sweetwater. I missed the first run and don't want to miss out on this reissue. Wil probably have to wait until next year to get it when it finally ships, but I'm excited that I'll get one
Awesome guitar, but I feel like they missed a trick with this reissue. Rather than doing the same 4 colours as the original run, it would've been cool to see some of the colours Tom used that were never available such as Capri Orange, Inca Silver etc. Still, I'm so glad it's been revived. I had to grab a Daphne Blue one. I've wanted one for as long as I can remember, but I couldn't bring myself to pay £2k+ for a used one 😅
I think it was the right move to release the original colors that all the kids dreamed of years ago. This is a total nostalgia purchase and I'm here for it!.
Agreed. My biggest gripe is that for the price, they could have actually made them with vintage style neck heel truss rod adjustment like Toms on stage. Instead they have the cheap black plastic plugs at the headsrock like a squier.
For the specs that arevery modern but very common nowadays, you could easily partscaster a near exact copy for half the price except the custom neckplates.

That yellow is sick! I love hard tail strats also. If I hadn’t of spent my money on the John5 Tele, I’d be getting this today!! It sounds awesome which is what matters most to me.

I wish I could’ve gotten 2 so I could keep one brand new! 😂 I also have a Squire CV 50’s Tele that was my first guitar and it is still a great guitar in my opinion. I’d like to get a Starcaster like you see Delonge playing alot also. They’re going to make a US model for him later this year or next year. But I’d take the Squire version of it if I was going to get one. I know one thing, I need more room for more guitars! 🤣

A lot of people think single pick up guitars are limited. They’re not. You learn how to use the volume control properly and can get various tones. Love this guitar but at £1299 UK won’t be buying one. Why not make a much more affordable version?
I think it would really bother me to not be able to switch between pickups to adjust the sound i want. Ive never played this guitar though maybe it sounds amazing clean.
@@connor_gee For sure but it's only got a custom backplate. Still a sick guitar, the price is just super inflated cause $200 of mods was a generous estimate. Hard to justify just like Epiphones new stuff imo. I could do these mods on my 2009 mim fender I got for $400 and have a nearly identical or better performing guitar considering it's past that "too new" feel. Not saying this to crush any superfans dreams, people should just know the artist tax is high on this one with everything considered.
I am shocked Fender even wanted to re-release these guitars considering he only uses Epiphone's now and went on the record to say Strats are too small for him.
