My GE microwave from 2005 finally crapped out. At first ruclips.net/user/postUgkxO_Bc204MGjxDl87cOKcdgaRhzSqGmv_g I was unsure because I was looking for something with the exact same features. Found it with this one. Interior space cavity was large, but the outside was smaller than my old one. I love the one-button push for 1-6 minutes, and the 30 second add or 30 second start. and MOST IMPORTANTLY, I love how you can adjust the power level during cooking. The reviews said it could not be done, but this marked all the other boxes. and happy to say, it does. I can hit 1 minute start, and change the power level from 10 to 5, 30 seconds in, without interruption. my favorite feature!
This was such a helpful video as someone who’s a visual learner I really appreciate it ! I just got my Ge cafe model installed yesterday and was so overwhelmed with all the trays it came with. Had no idea it was so much more then a microwave.
Had a hard time finding this thought others might too so I’m sharing…

Best explanation on features I have seen, was think to get the Miele version, but I like the toaster feature here. I did see on install instructions that it’s not for under counter. I planned on placing in an island under granite. Have you seen people install under an island?
The 120 Volt can but for some reason the 240 Volt is not UL rated for installation below the counter. 🤷🏻♂️
we have the previous generation of this guy with the dial interface and it's great (240v version). However, if you use it as a speed oven, be aware that it takes a l-o-n-g time for it to cool down if you want to use it just as a microwave.
And it’s not quiet while in the cooking process. 😬

Super helpful video - thank you. I was wondering if you could use this as a replacement to air frying. It doesn't say air fry but its my understanding that air frying is like convection. Maybe on the precision cook mode?
No air-frying feature in this oven but they do now have that feature in their wall ovens.

Thanks for your videos! Having been looking at a full Bosch kitchen, but the feedback on their microwaves is concerning. I'm curious to know if you have insight into Bosch built-in microwaves. This might be a nice alternative in an otherwise full Bosch kitchen.
We have a Bosch speed oven/microwave and I do not recommend it. The control panel has failed twice in four years and costs $450 to replace

I’ve read a lot of inconsistent feedback. I’d opt for the Benchmark version to have the nicer display. But for not much more money you could get an Advantium.

I dont cook much oven really at all. Could this replace a traditional oven? Or does it feel really small?
I wouldn't consider it a good replacement option but yes you could theoretically replace traditional oven. But you'd have limited space, limited baking and broiling capabilities and obviously there'd be no Self Clean feature.
That is a gorgeous Microwave but 4k+ is just too much for a microwave LOL

So, if I get one of these, do I need a conventional wall oven? Do I still need a toaster oven? What if I get two of these? Or even three?
The inside of this isn’t the easiest thing to keep clean. I’d still want a traditional oven for roasting and a self cleaning feature. I think you could probably nix the toaster over though. It depends on your expectations as well.
@@theappliancereview if you’re not a roaster (vegetarian) are there any other limitations? Does it have a standard oven feature or only convection? Any bread settings? Best video I’ve found so far explaining this magic. Keep up the great work!

Nope. There is an over the range version though. I believe it’s a ZSA1202PSS.

For future reference though, you aren't supposed to run a microwave when it is empty. Ever. You will shorten the life of the microwave.
Correct. Running it empty for a few seconds on a brief demo won’t kill it though. If it did, I would have killed hundreds of microwaves of the last 23 years.
Does this has air fryer mode ?
GE pushed a wireless update to their wall ovens that added an air fry feature but nothing on these as of yet. It does convection bake up to 450 degrees so I’m assuming air frying is possible though.

it does awesome with toasted bread/bagels sandwiches! However I highly recommend the 240V version for toasting as the120V version takes longer than a traditional toaster IMO
very nice but the Miele top of the line speed oven is probably the best one available today.
Depends on what you’re looking for. The Miele is a much better convection oven. It’s basically a compact Mini oven. The Advantium is a much better Microwave and Speed Oven.
Which top of the line Miele model are you referring to?

@@theappliancereview The amount of menus and taps needed for simple things + the lag makes me cringe honestly lol
Also remember, the software engineers that needed to write firmwares for these interfaces in embedded devices doesn't come in cheap. That interface alone probably added 1K in the price of this oven which is pretty pointless.

Just bought one of these (240V, branded as Cafe) and am overwhelmed trying to learn. User manual is crap, actual Advantium technology is unavailable unless you connect to the internet, so you MUST become a marketing target if you want to use this oven's best features -- way to respect your customers GE (NOT!!).
Googling around trying to get information and I keep running into a "Speedcook" feature. Is this now marketed under a different term, or is this feature now unavailable?
