I love Tori's perspective on her miscarriage ~ so much more than just the biological occurrence ~ it's not just that the BODY wasn't accepting ~ it's the emotional spiritualistic side of feeling rejected or unworthy ~ one of my favorites ~ and the line that gets my heart is "Those angels cant ever take my place" ~
I listened to this song after my ex kidnapped my son and I had just miscarried another son. It was like she was reading my mind. I was in turmoil. I feel Tori is a blessing to me and all other women out there. I love you Tori!
This is such a stunning song, and this is such a breath taking version. I get teary listening to this song! What a glorious voice. I love this song - I love Tori.
I always have tears in my eyes listening to this version of that beautiful song. Once again - thank you, Tori. And thank you nothingbutmeat for posting this video.
I can't remember where. I downloaded an entire concert from 2002 (I think) and this came with it as a hidden bonus. I didn't realise it was in there until I opened the folder. Very nice surprise indeed!
Women feel this song on a different level. It's not just about loss, it's about feeling like it's your fault, feeling like you and your body are failures, like you let yourself and your child down. Either you've experienced it, you're going to experience or, or you're afraid of experiencing it. I don't doubt men get this song. And I'm sure it can be interpreted in many different ways. But it's just not the same for men as it is for women.
Men feel it too just in different ways they expierance their pain they may not blame themselves to the extent we do as every fiber of our being tries to turn on us because we were the literal vessel for that life but they have to watch our self destruction in many cases and feel powerless to do anything about it. It's like watching someone slowly commit sucicide.
It's actually the Wurlitzer, they sometimes sound a bit similar so it's easy to confuse them. She did do Playboy Mommy live on the Rhodes in 2005, also a nice version!
I didn't really like this song. Maybe cause I was thinking the situation Tori went through that inspired her to write it. But when she played it in Vienna a few days ago.. I've been listening to it a lot.
Frankly, your English is so recongnisable that it is downright clear you are from Poland. Btw,walk your talk and type in English urself. Take care, babe.
Its now 2023 and this song is still part of the fabric of so many souls, like mine ❤❤
Always love Tori ❤❤
If you see a guy at a Tori Amos concert crying his eyes out to this song... that's me QQ
It's probably her most touching and emotional song ever (along with Winter and Northern Lad) and definitely in my top 5 Tori's songs.
The single concert I've attended as an adult was Tori Amos and if there is to be only one, I will never be sorry it was that one.
Best preformed version ever of this amazing lament
I've heard her do this live-she puts SO much into it. You can really tell shes going back somewhere when she sings this. So sad.
This song rips my heart open and leaves me feeling raw. It's beautiful and touching yet sad and riveting. Thank you Tori.

Tori's normally associated with the acoustic piano. I love to hear her play the Rhodes electric piano. So soft and warm.

This song makes me cry almost every time I hear it...and I'm a straight guy. Some of connected to male bodies also get it.

@modarXmodar No, it was never released as a single.

She did do Playboy Mommy live on the Rhodes in 2005, also a nice version!
LoL. I think Famous Blue Raincoat is the most saddest. But my first thought was "Cooling"
lol? why would you laugh at this song? and Famous Blue Raincoat is a cover.. but yes, Cooling kind of surpasses Playboy Mommy
I was laughing at myself not the song, I was laughing at myself because no matter my mood I always end up crying when I hear her sing these songs.
:chills:
@nothingbutmeat yes you r right this one is wurlitzer 140b
Does anybody know where a full version of this song from the piano box set can be heard because on the CD from that box set its only a demo?
