Larger wheels and wider foot decks make commuting on an electric scooter more comfortable and convenient. Should all scooters be designed with such features? Share your thoughts below!
More convenient? It makes them heavier, bulkier, and less accessible. They would be safe with larger tires, but they'd be in a different class of vehicle at that point. Many local laws would restrict nearly all scooters like that.
When choosing an electric scooter, there are so many things to consider. Portability/size, folding handlebars, range, power, comfort. It depends on what you want to do with the scooter. For last mile solutions, the larger tires and deck would be a negative feature. People who are taking these on buses, trains, trunk of cars would want smaller lighter options. Weekend warriors just out for rides to the beach or around town might want bigger decks and tires. As of now, there is no perfect option. I own 2 scooter. One that is portable and can fit easily in cars (Apollo explore) and one beastly power scooter that rockets to 55-60 mph (Dualtron Storm) for weekend fun.
@@chrishayes5755 haha. My scooter can go that fast but I never do! I’ve taken it to about 40-45 one time just to see how it felt. I usually keep it under 30 most of the time. I’ll never be testing the top speed. I can say at the 40+ mph it felt rock solid and stable. But I definitely felt like if I took a fall at that speed it was going to be bad.
Hello, thanks for your feedback. The list includes several upcoming models but we should also point out that there are definitely entries that are already on sale.
Hi, this is a cool product to ride, but what happens when this scooter get into a accident with a automobile who is responsible for the damages? Who is going to pay out of pocket to repair their automobile ? These people that are driving these electric scooters are very dangerous. An Attorney needs to sue the city to rewrite the code for these electric scooters.
Large decks, huh? This is CLICK BAIT. The riders on most of these scooters are standing with their feet together side-by-side, because that's all the room there is. "Large decks," who are you kidding?
Hello, thanks for your feedback. There are some people who refer to ride in the standing position (there are also some studies showing that there is less stress on the back and joints compared to a bike ride - many of us spend lots of time sitting at the offices anyways).
When you are unable to sit on a bike seat?🤚(hip stress fracture) ...or when exercising a dog and need to step off quickly cuz your dog took a 90 into the ditch to catch a gopher(I have experienced this)...not for everyone, but for some purposes they are safer than a bike.

Hello, thanks for your feedback. All models shown in these video have larger decks compared to an average street e-scooter.
These looks really dumb. When would they be better than a bike?
