That's what i didnt care for on the vxf12..i had a double baffle but made the 1st baffle an inch bigger in diameter.gettin the vxf 15 soon😎

A couple sheets of 3/4 inch plywood isn't exactly a 1,000 dollar investment. I'm sure he paid more for the wiring than he did for the box. It's plywood, not gold.

Thats why i dont double baffle unless if im going to invert the subs. Great explanation 👌 or make the hole bigger before putting the top peice just incase.
That amp shouldn’t be overheating. I mean, it will get quite warm, but not hot. I’m thinking he is running low on amperage which is making his alternator run up the voltage to compensate. Box sounds good and strong but unless that port is 40” long, I don’t think it’s tunes to 32HZ.

Ordered a zvx 12 and im building a 3.1 cubic ft box tuned to 33hz 38” port area should slap
He gained 4db just by flipping them yet he hasn't metered,and on top of that the double baffle doesn't matter cooling wise,the cone doesn't need much cooling it's the coil wich has more than enough if the sub is mounted regular, you sir made him look like a genius with his theory which was not one bit correct
So how does he know he went 4 decibels higher by inverting them when he just said he metered it before inverting them 🙄

Unless he wired those subs separate to separate amps his amp may be 1ohm but you cant wire 2 zvx v2s at 1ohm either 2ohm or half ohm..
Unless he’s got the dual 1 ohm zvx v2s. You can wire two dual one ohms two one ohm
The zvx 12s come in dual 2 ohm or dual 1 ohm
Actually you can wire 2 zvx 1ohm to 1ohm. You wire each sub in series to 2ohms then run them in parallel to drop your ohm load to 1ohm. You can find the diagram on Skars website. Super simple to do. Just make sure you meter the ohm load before connecting to your amp.

Hey I have a question.. are these and the Vxf 12s better then the orion hcca 12s?? I'm doing a single 12" system for both SpL and Music "SQ" and I been checking out the VFX hard because it's currently 269.99 and also been thinking about these subs your showing as well.. and also been thinking about going with a Sundown SA classic 12 or the V2... I could also go to the yard sale on sundowns page n pick up a X v2 12 for 267 I believe... But my main question is do you think the Skar VFX could n would perform better then a Orion hcca 12??.. I used to have 4 hcca 12s on 4 hcca 4ks back in 2010 or 2011. And just one of em hit hard as hell for a single 12.. but the price is way to high. So I'm turning over to Skar n sundown which I know sundown subs could n most likely would do better n last longer then the hcca would most likely. But I'm not so sure on Skar..
I personally would go Orion Hcca>Skar VXF>Sundown SA.

I have 2 skar zvx's on an Orion Xtreme 4k and they CANNOT handle the power, they keep getting hot and smoking. But they slap REALLY hard though...I'm sad because I actually like the zvx's sound quality
I bought a pair, was thinking about feeding them 2k watts rms, is that good enough?
@@davidbrennan5 Long story short the zvx break in period took a while for me. However! Once they broke in they took 4k no problem! I run 4 sundown x8's now on a sundown sfb 5k they slap now, but don't come close to those 2 zvx's and I've had each sundown replaced once. For the price I don't recommend sundown x series.

Looks like 2.5-3cubes net tuned 32/33hz. Port area around 40sq in. It got down for the demo.
How much power can these take daily? Do they get hot?
Clean non clipping power probably take 2k RMS Clamped but rated for 1500 Watts RMS. So a 4500 Watt amp should do for a set.

Petty sure they are Dual 4s and just wired all poss and all neg together and then ran to 1 ohm on amp as he mentioned in video. Thanks for watching!
@@JacobViral so lots of talk when it comes to inverting subs ...some ppl say to switch the phase 180°...some say to just hook up regular pos to pos ..negative to negative ext.. ....so jacob in your experience *even though I know your sub aren't inverted* which is best ? I’ve had multiple systems I have tested where I tested inverted and not in a 4th order and also a ported box and it did not matter at all about Polarity. Never touched polarity and a lot of amplifiers don’t even have polarity on the amp. I think the polarity is just if you run some inverted and some not to not battle each other.

Hey I've got these Same subs ! I need advice on how many batteries are you using I've got a 290amp alternator made by JS alternator with the big 3 kit and I'm just kinda worried about hooking up . My amp pushing 3000rms certified all 1/0 cable but only have my cars battery and wanted to know how many you used in this video and what kind are they if you don't mind the information will help me decide on what to do next
I would suggest replacing stock under hood with AGM fit for vehicle and a Group 31 AGM second battery and you'll be set.

joshua jones usually that sounds about right for a 15 to be at 3.5-4.5 cubes per unless your throwing a lot of power on them or don’t want lows.
Inverting subs does NOT change how loud subs are. It can make it sound different if the box is the incorrect size. If the box is too small inverting them will help but that's it. Been proven over and over again. Nice setup though.

Jon Doe how long/loud do you play. Usually i have more amp than i do Subwoofer and i play long and loud.. i prefer inverted so i can hear clipping faster. what i perceive to be faster** and you will smell anything a lot quicker if you are in the same chamber as the voice coil***

I doubt 4 db's, Just 3 db's is the equivalent to double the power.
Inverting the subs changes what the enclosure is tuned to, which is typically the best way to gain DB's. I'm not disagreeing with you, but in theory it's possible!

The only way he gained even close to that is if his box was too small from the beginning. If the box is too small and you invert your subs, it allows more airspace by removing most of the driver displacement in the box.

Cool video, but according to his theory about the double baffle...speakers should never be placed in tube enclosures or the mounting baffle of a sub enclosure shouldn't have any angles way less than 90 degrees. Just my opinion.
bkrgls tubes wouldn’t be ideal.. wouldnt say neeever.. theres a lot of benefits from inverting*** you can tell if your wiring is still secure(wires move get hot) you ever seen wire flex? Heat and vibration affect things** its nice to hear the motor when you play lots of different media from different sources or let people plug in? You can hear clipping better and smell burning or hot voice coils faster***
Those subs are at half ohm lol there v2s you can’t have two dual ohm subs and run 1 ohm impossible he doesn’t know his own set up lol but it sounds good as hell though I have two zvx v2s with a rp 3500 I’m under power but still efficient I’m going to run another skar audio rp 3500 one to each speaker at 1 OHM which will be the only way you can run these subs at one ohm
timothy hardy not trying to undermine your comment. But there is a way to run two dual 1 ohm subs at 1 ohm. You run hot to ground as a jumper on each subs. Then you run all remaining hots and grounds giving you a 1 ohm final impedance.
There’s only one problem I have these same subs and they are dual 2 ohm not 1he says it in the video at the beginning know disrespect but it’s impossible ti run two dual 2 ohm subs to one ohm see a mono block amp cuts the load in half if you wiring them up at one ohm when you hook them up to the amp it will see half ohm

Yeah, I've never owned Skar, but their amps put out good numbers. Paid about 350 a piece for the x12s, but I bought and had everything in that system installed. I'd like to do my own budget build for like 3 evl's. That could be fun.

Ask Mike Jones DD's world record Holder 180+DB's with 1 18" and not 1 of his is like that. I did that to just play around and it dose nothing but make it look cool and I have a DB reader and it didn't even read .01 difference.........
