When they were running the CT scan to confirm the perforation for emergency surgery, they found a mass in his kidney. He had it removed a month later and it was cancer. If he hadn't had the bowel perforation, he would have had the tumor perforate his kidney and he may have died because it would have spread everywhere and it was a particularly nasty tumor.... About Aaliyah and the plane crash:
Aaliyah was not just any girl. She was one of the most accomplished and famous R&B singers of her time and an actress on the rise and unlike others who dwell in acting and singing, she was trained professionally in both. At the age of 19 she landed a hit with the song 'Try Again' for the movie 'Romeo must Die', where she also was the lead actress. She was produced by R.Kelly at the age of 15 (apparently R. Kelly also married her when she was 15 and produced the album 'Age Ain't Nothing But A Number') and later she worked with icons like Timbaland and Missy Elliott.
The people who dragged her into that plane were NOT her friends. They were part of the filming crew for a music video to her newest single. They filmed a few scenes at the Bahamas and some folks insisted to get back into the US asap.
She just finished her role in the movie 'Queen Of The Damned' (a spin off movie to 'Interview with a vampire') where she played the queen herself and she barely started her role in the movie 'Matrix Reloaded' (that was re-cast after her death), not to mention that she already had the lead roles in other movies secured.
She was only 22 years old when she died and was one of the most successful artists of her time and on the highway to an even greater career.

    • @DrachenGothik666
      @DrachenGothik666 Год назад +86

I she died while "Queen of the Damned" was still filming, & they had to do a lot of creative editing in post production to make her part look right 'cuz they wanted to save the movie after sinking all that money into it. So, not only did her video crew load her unconscious body into a plane that killed her, her last movie was released not-quite finished in a cynical move to recoup the money they spent. The disrespect is palpable.

    • @olgahein4384
      @olgahein4384 Год назад +111

@@DrachenGothik666 I think you are confusing a few things here:
      - The crew that dragged her into the plane had NOTHING to do with the movie crew of 'Queen Of The Damned'. HER role there was completely done. She played all her scenes. The only thing left to do was audio corrections, where the actor do their own synchro during post production. That can happen months after an actor is done filming, and there were only a few of those for Aaliya left to do.
      - She already started filming scenes for a new role in another movie 'Matrix Reloaded'. THAT was the movie where they didn't have enough scenes with her, so they scrapped it and re-casted the role (Aaliyas scenes are on some special edition or smth as an extra).
      - THIS crew was her very own filming crew, that was filming her own music video for her new single. If you want someone to blame for this, it's her management, her producer, the company behind them, the music label and what not. She WAS on a tight schedule though, with her new album coming out, this new single for which they shot scenes on the bahamas, with acting in the newest Matrix movie AND already being cast for 2 upcoming movies as the lead actress. Neither the mainstream music nor the mainstream movie business has time or money to be kind or understanding to their stars, you can't keep up, you're out.

That, or I'd just freak out and not board the plane.
Yes. It's that big of a deal. If I'd go through with the weighting it would impact me for years and years as a traumatic memory, worsening my already really bad self-hatred with 2000%, and maybe send me back into an anorexia relapse. Psych wards, feeding tubes, sections etc all over again...

A plane having a delay of several hours just because of that was quite common. Nowadays more and more people are not flying for vacation but for business, so being on time is today more important than ever. Redistributing people is easier than baggage and faster.
Also, 'in the past' being overweight was something people were ashamed of and you would rarely see really oversized people on planes, especially with the seat sizes. Nowadays folks are more confident with their body, so more people of really BIG proportions are travelling, by plane too, and that brings a whole new set of problems to the aviation companies.

On the topic of having to get on a scale for the airplane, I can guarantee you that the reason actually was that the weight had to be evenly distributed on both sides of the plane. The bodyweight of the passengers does have an impact on performance, but mostly related to steering and consistency for the pilot.
Similar to how you're not supposed to put shopping bags on the handle of your bike, cause the uneven weight just fucks with everything!

    • @katharinafranke0351

  • @robertheinrich2994

I've recently got to know that planes also have a problem to take off, if the weight distribution is wrong.
and the flight attendents usually go the path of least resistence, so instead of making airport personnel rearrange the luggage in the belly of the plane, they just ask one or more fat people to sit somewhere, where their weight is actually beneficial to the airplanes flight characteristics.
only needed during takeoff. they can go back to the regular spots afterwards.

The "Luck inside of bad luck" saying that the Click described actually describes my experience with appendicitis pretty well. I woke up one day in 4th grade a little queasy, but since I was prone to stomach bugs, I decided to just tough it out and went to school anyway. Then in gym class, the boys were having a contest to see who could throw a basketball the hardest, and one of them had terrible aim and accidentally hit me in the stomach with it instead. For some reason, balls hate me, so it was pretty common for me to accidentally get hit with them in gym class regardless of anything else happening (I'd already previously had my head slammed into a metal windowframe for the exact same reason and had to have my head X-rayed for skull fractures) so the fact that I immediately flopped over silently instead of shrugging it off or complaining about it like I normally would immediately caused the boys to start panicking, then the gym teacher came and yelled at me for laying on the floor 'for no reason.' I managed to stagger up with some help, and tried to lean against the wall in the hopes the naseua would fade and the horrible pain in my lower abdomin would subside, and genuinely thought that if I could just sit down for a bit I might recover on my own, so I asked to go to the bathroom. After laying in the bathroom trying to vomit for a while
(I thought that might help) I gave up, managed to get up again and requested to go to the nurse, who also immediately panicked after seeing how much pain pressing on my side caused, since I was kinda known for having a high pain tolerance, so she called my mom to take me to the doctor, the doctor sent me to the hospital, and I had my appendix removed the same day. Apparently, it wasn't very far gone yet and hadn't ruptured or anything, and I probably wouldn't have noticed symptoms until much later if I hadn't been hit so hard in just the right spot, so it got caught super early. Still the most painful thing to have happened to me so far, and a major contributer to why any round moving object in my peripheral vision now triggers my fight-or-flight response now...

About the cheating stalker: I can relate. I am married to the man I "cheated" with and the ex of my ex also "cheated" with.
In reality, my ex is an abusive ass who threw her into a wall and beat her and chocked me unconscious und held a knive to my throat while I was pregnant with his child. My husband is just really good at rescuing and healing people emotionally. The best partner an abuse-survivor can wish for.
My husband, my ex and their ex all went to the same school. I was introduced to my husband by my ex at his birthdayparty.
No one ever cheated on my ex, but he gave almost all of his girlfriends stds.
Funny thing is everytime he gets dumped, he calles the girl and tells her, that he did stuff with his pp and now it is "amazing and huge". It was kind of a running gag between me, my husband, who read this message twice (once on his exes phone and once on mine :D) and every ex of my ex we have the pleasure to meet. By now, he must wear pants with three legs. :D
Sometimes the particularly f*cked are f*cked by themselves... with magically growing pps :D

Ok this version of that story makes sense, and I'm SO sorry you had to go through that, I'm glad you're doing better and I hope he never gets a partner again but that's likely not going to happen unfortunately, I just hope some of those exes can spread the word about him..
but if that's not the situation the girl went through then was it just the partner being cheated with just stalking the girl and finding every possible chance to hurt her? Including getting with her obviously unfaithful exes? If so, why? Did the girl do something to warrant that? Was it literally just a 'I met a bad person and now they won't stop coming after me' situation?

Omg.. I actually knew a Cathy with a bunch of ferrets!! 😂 She was my aunt's best friend. I remember there were holes in her couch because the ferrets lived in it, and she always had the only house in the area with pigeons COVERING the roof because she liked to feed them.

My mom is Polish and immigrated to the US right out of high school, and when she moved to the south after college she could not understand heavy southern accents, and would need someone to translate for her. But over the years she got used to it and didn't have any issues anymore. It's very interesting how accents can seem so difficult to understand until you've been around them for a while.

The Pompeii guy wasn't apparently hit by the boulder, he died like everyone else and the boulder was just carried there by stream of lava, at least that's what the scientists found out after checking the remains.

I've flown small planes before. The total weight isn't necessarily the problem, the center of mass is. In a four seater plane, there is a noticeable difference in how the plane handles if the passengers on one side are substantially heavier than on the other. It's common practice to deliberatly move cargo around to balance the plane out, because if you don't then you have to continuously adjust for the plane naturally turning on its own. Worse than the left-right balance though is the front-back balance. If the center of mass is ever behind the center of lift, then the plane becomes unstable. Pitching up or down changes the amount of lift the plane gets, because it changes the angle of attack of the wings. If the center of lift is in front of the center of mass, you get positive feedback: if the lift increases, it makes the plane want to tilt upwards, which increases the lift more. In this situation the plane is pretty much entirely impossible to fly, even if the plane could handle the weight alone. With the center of lift behind the center of mass, the relationship is reversed, so there is a stabilizing negative feedback loop. However, if the center of lift is too far back, then the control surface of the plane may be unable to overcome this negative feedback, and the plane will be unable to take off, or if it somehow moves in the air, the plane will nose-dive uncontrollably.
With large planes, it takes a lot more for the passengers to unbalance the plane, and the crew is able to balance things by how they load the luggage in, so they don't really need to ask everybody how much they weigh.
Long story short, a passenger who weighs more than they say they weigh isn't a problem because the plane won't be able to take off with more weight, but because they won't be able to balance the plane correctly, and that can make the plane uncontrollable regardless of what its actual maximum carrying capacity is.
