guy who's extremely obsessed with, dedicated to and has a wide knowledge of Garfield here: yeah, Garfield isn't really that funny anymore it seems. it definitely had a lot more spark and charm in its earlier years and jokes would land better because they were new and fresh. classic Garfield is just so charming and warm, full of life and relatability. modern Garfield just feels so... stagnated. it's tired and very obviously worn out, and its characters have suffered quite a lot of flanderisation, and yet it still goes on with stale punchline after stale punchline. but you know what? i'm a huge fan of Garfield, and i love it to bits. i'm just happy that even with how chaotic and fucked up life can be, the comic strip is still a constant in my life that i can look forward to reading every day. it's nice to know what something i love is always there for me every morning, and i take great comfort in that. also i find it funny how there seems to mostly be like three categories of Garfield fans you'll find in most places. there's the younger fans, people who are extremely committed/dedicated/in love with the comic, and then there's just boomers who have politics that are a liiiittle too outdated for the general public's liking. it's really funny. and then... then there's the fourth category we don't talk about... _the horrors...._
My theory is Garfield is meant less to be funny but nostalgic and comforting, just a peek into the life of an owner and his cat (or friends) highlighting the simple, mundane moments of lives.
You should make a video where you make your own Garfield or even Heathcliff comics, maybe just a comic strip generally! This was a good video, hope Sleepy Joe and his *LIBERALS* don't show up and WOKE it! Also, it's 1:24 when I'm writing this.
I used to read the recent Garfield comics online for awhile, but they suddenly just got unfunny and even then I made it a personal rule to never read the comments on those comics because like here, they were weird. I do love the older ones (probably pre 2010s) but after that, they started getting stale and never trying anything really new with the comics or make the creative week arcs in awhile that are actual stories. I occasionally find funny ones from the new comics, but they just now do what is safe and never try to develop the characters anymore.
Dude I actually hate people who bring up politics even if the thing they're commenting on isnt political. Like yeah, Biden's a bad president, but that doesnt mean you should bring him up into every single existing subject on Earth.

Yes, become the Garf.
The editing was really good for having less then 1K, you earned a sub

Garfield is good. It makes me chuckle in my head, thats enough
I loved the part when nibs said “it’s nibbing time” and nibbed all over the place

Garfield is definitely my 2nd favorite comic
Very funny
😹😹😹 (I was going to write a long comment, but I can't top the ones you showed.)
if you read the old comics (80's/90's), oh boy i think you would laugh PRETTY fast.
you need more subs
I thought you had like 100k subs based on the editing and the video so good job
garfield used to be funny, but these days they just feel AI generated. It had a good run, they just didnt knew when to stop.
How do you have less than 1k
Watch Garfield and Friends then you can see how Garfield can be funny.
I asked and he said he won't watch
are you doing ok?
do part 2
Sorry Jon, I forgot to comment on this one. It's my fault the algorithm hates you.
