I was brought fishing maybe 3 times as a kid and I hated it every time, and I haven't thought about trying it as an adult. Watching these videos and having you bring me through this hobby of yours really sets my mind in a different state that I don't often end up in. Like the whole thing about another mans trash is another mans treasure. And you really opened my mind to show me, this hobby really is a treasure if you treat it right. Great job on this fish. I probably would've devoured it.
It’s great to hear people say this! Man oh man, getting out in the middle of nowhere whether you’re by yourself or companied with family or friends is something you have to experience! Getting out and being able to enjoy nature and breathe the fresh crisp air is such a rush..! Let alone being able to catch fish makes the trip even better, the tug is the drug man! Every trip creates a new memory to add to the collection, I look back at pictures every so often with my dad and we talk about what each trip was like. Great hobby that I wish I could turn into a lifestyle🎣
Thank's for taking me camping I love to grill me some Steelhead with garlic butter ( Real Butter ) and salt. Grill it up with a nice light brown crust then drizzle lemon juice and eat...😉
Great video Chiefz, now for my full transparency, I don't eat fish, but watching the video and seeing how much you love what u do was benefit enough
Love that!!! Eating miso ramen while watching and you pop out with the miso ramen 😂😬
Coincidence?! I think not lol. Thanks for watching 🤣
So very atmospheric and picturesque!
Such an amazing upload my friend!

I love the catch and cooks. See you on the stream
Sounds good thanks man
Your videos are so amazing Rob. You truly create a story with the camera and show us first hand experiences with lessons. Keep doing incredible work like this. Especially if you are enjoying it. Great work 11/10, would eat the steelhead. Merry Christmas dude!
Dude the cod achievement unlock music as you landed that stocker made me laugh out loud
Real ones heard it 😏
dude, love the new site!!!
Wifey and I would both enjoy that meal. 😮
I would absolutely eat it and eat it again!! Oh yeah!
looking back.. I would do it all again 🤣 thanks for watching
I freaking knew it !! I knew you were gonna hear noises out there while sleeping!! Woodboogers boys there out there!! Never camp alone and never go unarmed trust me !! Awesome video chief loved it !! But never camp alone !!
Woodboogers?! Oh boy haha.. thanks for the watch man. Happy holidays
Your videos make me so homesick! Keep up the good work!
Another great video! Keep em coming.
Great video! Looks like a lot of fun
Great vid man keep it up!!!!!❤❤
We love the fishing vids. 🤝❤️
We love LoFi🤝
That looks good yeah ill try that. And another enjoyable vid chiefz love it
Top tier production as always brotha, love these camping+fishing vids. So entertaining to watch through & through
Beginning to End.
Awesome video...
Nothing better than be on the river catching steelhead and camping!
Lets Go !! thanks for sharing the trip. S-Tier content as always!!
Wemesis 🙌🏼
Keep the camping videos comin. I usually hike and fish and camp solo in the U.P. in the summer. I love to make use of what nature provides for us!
Always with a phenomenal video!
Much love bro 👊🏼
Chiefz, awesome video my man. Yes, I would definitely eat that, especially camping. Isn't anything wrong with steelhead. Granted now days I let most of them go, not because I don't like them, but because I enjoy fishing for them way more. When we go to Canada and catch Bass they laugh at us for eating them. I'll tell you; they eat just as good as anything else. Stay safe my man and have a Merry Christmas!!
Thanks Travis! I’d definitely say I like letting Steelhead go more than eating them as well. Still haven’t tried eating a bass, feels weird to me lol; but I’ve heard many say they’re pretty good. Happy holidays 🙌🏼
Great video!
Getting better with every video!! Seriously great content.
And merry Christmas to everyone
From the walking W himself. Thanks buddy
Love the music in the vids this is the kind of stuff I’m listing to all salmon season… I do hammock camping salmon season in the fall and in the spring for steelhead never never tryed it early steelhead but this year has been such a weird year for mi this is like perfect for it
CHIEFZ CHIEFZ CHIEFZ
Wiebs 🙌🏼
Happy holidays and have a happy New Year! Great vid fam!
i would 100 percent eat it. looks amazing
Chiefz always poppin off with the content
I would eat it…as a matter of fact I am drooling! Looks delicious 😊
I'd eat it looks scrumptious
Great video again chiefz 😁
You cooked that fish perfectly 🔥
I’ve never cooked a fish on a stick fire so it was interesting to see, also the filleting the fish into a butterfly was a new one for me. I’d usually fillet the fish by going the common way, knife horizontal and using the backbone has a guide, cut all the way to the tail 😌👍 or else cook it hole and add butter garlic a bit of lemon in it and wrap it up 🤤
Love ur videos bro. I live in buffalo ny area. If you ever make it here, id love to fish with ya. Not as good as ur area but we have a great run
Perfect eater, nothing wrong with keeping some fish but no need to go overboard. I have only kept 1 skipper this season but I really haven’t caught many fish in general. Great vid as always
W upload
I'd love to try steelhead some day, definitely saving up for one ur fancy trips 🫡
Great video man. I eat several steelhead a year. I love the ones right from the lake best. Great solo camp trip.
Hard to beat anything right off the lake! Thanks for watching. Happy holidays 👊🏼
Never had steelhead but image its pritty similar to trout ate plenty of those even did exactly what you did with stick butterflying the fish turned out great
It wouldn't be my go to ever but if we went out and did this then I would def. eat it. It looks delicious though for sure!
Get yourself an under quilt and a top quilt combo for that hammock with each rated for subzero temps, you won't regret it. Awesome trip man, what a picturesque river!
Any recommendations? I have been looking. Think I’m getting a double sized hammock for the future as well.
Definitely would eat that.
Probably not so much seasoning. In foil with sweet onions, apple and butter.
great video! keep them up man
Much love brother
I would prefer the steel head over the ramen. Good vidja Chiefz
I don't know if it's my hunger talking to me now, but that actually looks pretty. dang good my guy!
Haha dammit bro you effed up doing the taters ahead of time. Who wouldn't at least give that fish a try? Keep up the good work. Always looking forward to your next video.
your content is so underrated, you deserve a mill subs atleast bro!!
Awesome video! I’m so jealous for
seeing you catching those fish. I’m from BC and here catching a steelhead is a very rare thing and just getting worse year after year unfortunately
So unfortunate. I really want to make a trip out there one day. Thanks for watching
Dude, bro, nice video.
You would be a lot warmer without air under you.
Man, bro, dude, thank you
Killer vid! Subbed. 🤙🏼🎣
Awesome video! Those tracks are most likely wolf tracks I think.
Kinda what I was thinking.. thanks for watching 👊🏼
Wolf @@Chiefz
Steelie on a stick! Love it Bro. Would I eat it, sure if it were what was available and if it was planed like you did with seasonings and Budder. Sweet Vid man!
Thanks man! Definitely a solid meal. Glad you enjoyed the video; happy holidays 🙌🏼
i have been waiting for a vid from you lol
I’m tryin!
No stress man love the vids !!!
not gonna lie, I'd fuck up that steelhead. But not because it looks good or doesn't look good but just because we're camping, eating what we catch, river side, deep in the Michigan wilderness with our waders on, stomping through the bush and the river like tanks, untouchable. to me it's such a cool kid like feeling. I love fish also. take some lemon next time. the steelhead in my pro pic is from the Muskegon many years ago (circa 2017/2018).I fish the PM, Muskegon, and manistee
can't wait for our trip. you hear from me soon... soon
The fish looked very tasty. You probably attracted a yeti to your campsite with cooking smells. Good video
Lol thank you
Let’s goooo
I laughed my ass off when I saw this in my notifications... I knew right away it was because of that dude's comment from the last video hahahha.... Some people don't understand that you can't catch and cook every single Steelhead you catch. It's just unethical to the sport BUT cooking up the little guys is fine and they taste delicious. I kept a couple large ones many years ago and they tasted terrible, but the little eater sized ones taste delicious. I enjoyed the video, keep'em coming!
I used to be pretty good at catching steel head wife and I ate some many of them that we got tired of them.I started giving them to her son . After having Major stroke I can't get in to the holes anymore
Love catching steelhead….not a fan of eating them… lots of catch and release
I like releasing them more too
🔥🔥🔥
Awesome video. Does this happen to be in the UP?
You’re a beast chiefz, I would be a fuckin popsicle the next morning getting into frozen waders lol
Love your videos man. Is the center pin rig your go-to for Great Lakes steel?
Thanks man! Not necessarily, I like using my centerpin in the winter mostly
Have you found any issues with the new atlas mikes bags 🤷🏼♂️. All of my new packages seem to be thicker material. Just looking for another opinion. Thanks. Great Video as well .
Thanks man. Funny you mention it, thought it felt different last time I was tying. Never had any issues though, still catching fish 👍🏼
Cooking fish like that only seems weird to Americans lol
I eat a steelie or two per month. Like you said, bleed right away, always eat fresh never frozen. We eat it with taters as well! Smoked or fried, it’s tasty! Not walleye or perch but not bad at all. I’ll bet yours was deelish and I would totally love to do what you did there. Thanks for the great video!
Couldn’t have said it better! Wouldn’t say I eat Steelhead too often, but it’s good a few times a year. Tough to beat fried walleye haha. Thanks for the watch 👍🏼
I see you are embracing my way of life and cooking your food MY WAY!!
Prints looked a little too small to be a wolf IMO. Maybe someone brought their German Shepherd out for a walk .
That steelie looks like a 6 if I ate it at home but it would def be a 9 when I was on the riverside
Completely valid lol
1st?
If chow that 100%
Whats your 10/10 fish to eat?
Freshwater, I’d say fried Walleye 100%
Great video I’d eat the hell out of that fish!
Let me know how it ended, I left at the potatoes.
😏
The tracks where wolf or dog definitely not coyote
Yes definitely could be wolf if he’s in Upper Peninsula, but with all the tire tracks very possible dog. Too large for a yote
Seeing the track side into the woods has me thinking wolf for sure
Baldy was after your fish.theres a reason it's the symbol of America .lol sorry guys as a canuck I couldn't resist
I wish I had footage of when it was closer!! Seriously insane lol
Love the videos, but why do y'all call them steelhead if they aren't steelhead? They're just rainbow since they've never touched salt water.
Steelhead are born in freshwater streams, where they spend the first years of life. They then swim out to the ocean or one of the Great Lakes where most of their growth occurs. Steelhead are also known as rainbow trout. However, they are typically called steelhead when they spend most of their lives in the open waters of the Great Lakes.
@paul340mopar no, that's not how that works. Look up the Definition of Steelhead. Any rainbow trout can produce a Steelhead, and any Steelhead can produce a rainbow trout. However, to become a Steelhead, it has must travel to the salt, not a great lake. Y'all just have large trout. Not steelhead
Dude...Rainbow were brought here in the late 1800's from California to replace the extinct Grayling. Rainbows live their entire life in Rivers/Streams. A Steelhead is a completely different species than a standard Rainbow Trout because of it's migratory nature. A Steelhead is a strictly anadromous fish, meaning it returns to the river where it was born. Our fish "Migrate" from River to Great Lakes and Back, That is what makes it a "Steelhead", nothing to due with Saltwater. @@ericklagos1431
@@ericklagos1431 they are literally steelhead buddy. We also have coho and chinook salmons in these rivers.
Anyone who wouldnt dive into that meal doesn’t know what they are missing out on
i've done what you are doing with channel catfish
