Thanks!!
Does my 1999 a4 Quattro 5 speed manual 2.8 30v v6 count ?
@@albertopadilla5615 yes
I just recently spoke with Precision. They said there are 2 important factors with oil return lines. First is to ensure the oil return flange inner diameter is port matched or larger than the turbo's oil drain port. Second is to ensure the oil return hose/line comes straight down out of the turbo. Not sure about your flange but I do remember you had a 90 degree oil return pipe. Apparently these issues can cause oil to not properly flow and back up. Once the oil backs up, things heat up and pressure increases blowing oil out of the seals. Bearings fail from the lack of flow. Hopefully that info helps you and others watching!
Thanks for writing this out!
Noooooooo!!!!!! My greatest fear!! You do so good, and BAM!! The turbo ends up sounding like a Train!
lol 3:04
Hahahaha yeah shit happens
Dude that’s hilarious 😂😂😂
New turbo goofing!
The BB is bad ass and will for sure help spool.
Thanks bro!! Gotta have you work your magic
@@CIPGAS Please meka a video how new turbo spooling on 3rd and 4th gear. Good luck!
Aaaah yes...precision at it again lol
It’s all good brother. Bigger and better that’s it 🤘🤘🤘
Thank you bro!!!
Good information
Sorry to hear you had turbo issues like that. But I'm glad to see you're taking it as an opportunity to change things up and try something different. Always forward.
I appreciate it! Gotta take it as it comes and make the best of it.
I really. Through u did the train sound lol
dhl has become my favorite shipper recently they get stuff across the world in half the time usps takes to get it across the country
I wish I could have everything shipped by them
Can’t wait for new video on how new turbo is
You’re like a more knowledgeable Tavarish. Learning alot from your videos. They are very well done.
U helping keep Audi alive thanks I have a B6 1.8t thinking of rebuilding the engine and bigger turbo
High quality videos. Thank you
Thank you!
Best of luck .. i think you will love the smaller size.. try putting the old compressor housing back on to make reasmbly easer ..
Thank you! Do you mean use the precision housing in the new turbo?
How did the 3076R go? Im building an STK 2.7l at the moment and I was looking at that turbo before I saw this. Would you recommend? Does it flow enough that you don't get heat soak pre-turbo? Love the content dude.
Hey man thanks!
And I loved the turbo, spool was nice and quick and pulled well up top
Definitely do feel the lack of great flow up top
Specially if you go with he bigger 2.8 heads and ported manifold
if your goal is 450-475 ish I think it’s a great turbo
More than that and I think you’re getting out of the turbos and efficiency range
@@CIPGAS Thanks! exactly what I needed to hear. You have saved me a headache. Im aiming for 550-600 atw. I have 2.8 heads and a cam re-grind with more lift and duration being completed by machine shop currently.
Do you think the gtx 3576R would be a better match with 68mm turbine inducer?
@@anthonycraig-pw9oh Happy to help!
And yeah that would be a much better turbo for your goal. Still very responsive but will breathe well will an .82 ish ar.
I always like turbos matched to engine size/displacement for better driving characteristics.
Absolutely! Drivability is more important than peak power
@@CIPGAS Wise words! Peak power is better for specific types of automotive sporting events. If your vehicle is street driven stick with a properly sized power adder.
Yeah DHL is crazy. Bought parts from 034motorsports, and shipping from USA to Norway only took 2 days!
What did they do fly to your doorstep?!?! That’s crazy fast
@@CIPGAS i have no idea how they got it here so fast haha
How do you like the pulsar turbo? Have you had a chance to drive the car with it? I know you’re going vr6 and recently parted a lot of engine parts.
Antisurge delete that thing to get 500rpm sooner spool. Did it on my gt3076 with a billet velocity stack i bought off ebay and some jbweld
Damn man, that's shitty, but atleast it's not an engine pull for a swaperoo, that's the only thing I don't like about my k04s, prepping for tuning tomorrow and had to fix a coolant line, and I did it in the car because I like to waste my own time making wierd wrenches, but it wouldve been nice to just pull it out the top easy like a single, hopefully the new turbo treats you well
Hahaha yeah the amount of custom wrenches I own is ridiculous. But having the top mounted turbo is such a big convenience.
how's the Pulsar turbo reliability? I had a Precision 5858 DBB .82 a/r and it died on me as well. I'm on my 2nd PTE 5858 DBB, time will tell how this will end up.
Looking forward to it ripping again.
Do you need to re tune it for new turbo?
Yeah I’ll need small changes but nothing crazy
I bet you're glad you're not digging twins out!
Lol, I’m waiting on my twins to blow to go single. They’ve been treating me nice so far
@@myster__e My compressors are wobbly. Just redoing valves after smashing into a deer. Had it put together once and now doing it again. wasn't to bad with the engine in. Others made it sound like hell.
Tell me about it! It took me 20 minutes to pull the out. Winning!!! Lol
"Turbo lab" is a firm in the USA and he is good.👍
I’ll check them out.
I'm currently at the tail end of a very similar build. Newb with all the turbo specs tho. I have the same XS STK. Exactly what size/type flange does the turbine housing flange need to be? Thanks in advance
Hey, the flange is a 2.5” precision vband. You’ll be able to use Garrett v band turbos on the flange as well
U ever thought about the g series turbos heard they are great. Great s4 btw👍
It’s an option for sure been eyeing the g30 660 for a while now.
@@CIPGAS I highly recommend checking out BorgWarner's newest AirWerks lineup, the S200 and S300 SX-E turbos are absurdly great value for money.
The S257 SX-E for example is only around 800$ with a turbine housing and is good for anywhere between 300 to 650whp. The compressor maps are very impressive for a turbo that costs less than a grand and being a BorgWarner it's guaranteed to last.
No need to pull engine aha great content! Oil feed restrictor needed on that Precision perhaps? Sucks losing a turbo.
Yeah having the single makes sorting these things out much easier. And no restrict or on their jornal bearing turbos, just the ball bearing. Definitely sucks to have it go but shit happens.
@@CIPGAS www.ebay.com/itm/264270517498 this style came to mind.
shop.precisionturbo.net/steel-4-an-to-1-8-inch-fitting note also JB in some.
My Gen2 gtx3071r builds full boost at 4200 on my Volvo 5 cylinder. I’ve always heard the 3076 is laggier… hopefully your turbo puts the power band where you want it. Sucks about your PTE, but they’ll take care of you I’m sure.
Yeah man I’ll have it on the Dino soon for tuning so we’ll see how it goes. Thanks for the info!
Hi what size turbo is the biggest one that will fit in it
Really depends on brand but a garret g34 frame and a precision 6666 is close to as big as the space allows
Great video. Just have a question. Did it have cracky noice on broken one when car was on? Another question did you have any changes in oil when you found out issues in Turbo?
The turbo didn’t make any noticeable noises and oil was fine when I drained it.
@@CIPGAS what was a main reason you thought you blow up your turbo?
@@ehtirammusayev1 The blue smoke coming from the exhaust
@@CIPGAS did you mention blue smoke in a video?
@@ehtirammusayev1 yeah i did
@4uattros4 I replaced the head on my 2.7, now I’m getting oil in the hard coolant line. Do you know how that could be?
Might have a cracked head or a leak on the head gasket
@@CIPGAS thanks
Why does the intake mani has to get removed to get the turbo out? Isn’t just a v band?
Yeah just a V-Band but it’s much easier to access the bolt for the band without the manifold in the way
what is the engine size in your s4?
They are 2.7l V6 with Twin Turbos. from the factory
damn the turbo blew because you had an absolutely horrible oil drain, they need to be straight drop down from the turbo, not instantly into a 90* coupler for 10 inches horizontal before it actually drops down again, you backed up the oil and thats what blew the turbo.... I was thinking that when watching your "how to single turbo your s4" that you're gonna blow the turbo in less than 5k miles with that horrible of an oil drain. Hopefully you don't do the same thing to this one
You think $9,000 for a 2000 s4, 150k miles is a good price
That depends a lot on the condition of the car, the color, the maintenance, performance mods and a bunch of other things. But $9k seems about the middle ground for pricing
