Helluva project. I just finished my 1999 A4 1.8T to 4.2L from a C5 A6 along with a manual swap... I'd say the your swap is a bit more involved...

Can't wait to see the finished product. I just pruchased a 01 B5 Avant, 6 spd Stage 2 with down pipes. It's going to be a fun car to tinker with and of course fix issues.

questions,
Why are you engine swapping the s4, is there something from the 2.7 that you didnt like?
How did you tune the s4 with the 2.7.
I recently bought a b5s4. it has k04's and it pulls, but what gets me is the tuning. Im seeing that there are a lot of over priced options. I like standalone but would have to go through emissions as well. do you have any suggestions on the tuning realm
He is chasing a dream, the 2.7t is bad ass but just like most of us want more power and after 500-600WHP the 2.7t is not reliable it needs lots Of $$$ but i would say its the same with any engine and car after that power leves its just that people never disclose all the problems and cost of the build.
Obd2 check for emissions? Stay with stock ecu with tune and suppo mods.

I’m not sure if anyone asked already but how did you setup the coil packs on a vr6?
are yo using stock oil pan or ? do you have somewhere images under engine
I’m using a stock steel 12v vr6 pan that was persuaded to good fitment with a mallet lol. Switching it up now and going to use an aluminum pan that I am modifying to clear the subframe
What Bellhousing and flu wheel did you use
Stock 01e transmission and bell housing
And Ringer Racing partnered with clutchmasters for a. Billet flywheel and clutch package for these swaps
Only way you going to learn is doing it yourself
