Manhaden are also called Mossbunker or just Bunker. They have been called the most important fish in the sea. They are filter feeders, and as such they bioaccumulate nutrients from the single called algae that they consume. They are in turn, eaten by just about everything else, including bluefish striped bass sharks, tunas and seals.
