Good to know that a person working at a liquor store actually knows stuff about liquor.
Is it aye
Vodka - stoli. Gin - beefeater. Whiskey - black bush.
It's wild how many liquor stores have people who don't drink or know anything about liquor
@@JonJonJonJonJonJonJonJon 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀 4 freedoms vodka 1.75L 10.60 after tax, Platnum x7 1.75L 12.90 after tax. stoli 750ml 14.40 after tax. u dont know nun bro, trust.
Eh… his take on gin being flavored vodka was a little disingenuous
Some of the best advice I have seen in a long time for novice.
Definitely taking notes
Smirnov is a hangover.
Awful choice
Another great budget bourbon is Evan Williams Bottled In Bond. It's 100 proof and around where I live it's currently going for right around $16.50 for a fifth. Bottled In Bond is a federal regulation that governs how the bourbon is made. Any bottle that says that is likely to be good. It was actually the first federal regulation in the US to ensure the purity and quality of any food product. It stipulates such things as the bourbon all having to come from one company, and from one year. It has to be aged a minimum of 4 years in a federally bonded warehouse. Etc.
Watched the video to see this bottle and was disappointed so straight to the comments and thank you
@@sirred3052yep ancient age is a shit pick compared to evan williams bib.
Evan williams makes me puke hard lol.😅
Evan Williams, Bottled in bond is my go to.
Ol' Evil E 😂 the budding alcoholics closest companion
Bro scared me when he started talking about bourbon while holding a Mac. But he brought it back. 🎉
Same lol
Also, if you have a Costco nearby (and your state allows it to sell liquor), Kirkland brand liquors are a steal. Their spiced rum and Canadian whisky (only 2 I've tried so far) are pretty solid and a 1.75L bottle averages $18.99 or less which is insane.
I like the vodka.
Their Vodka is great too
My Mexican neighbors both love Kirkland tequila anejo. Gave two separate neighbors a bottle not too long ago, they asked where to get more a few days later.
My dad did a blind taste test of the high dollar Johnny Waller and Kirklands brand.
Kirkland was the better buy.
Their vodka is thr best I've ever tried its almost tasteless lmao
I'd personally go for Evan Williams BiB for a budget bar bourbon that is more likely to be shot or mixed into a cocktail than sipped, but can do in a pinch.
Watched the video to see this bottle and was disappointed so straight to the comments and thank you
Ahh good old EW White Label.
I'm probably a little more partial to JB BiB myself, but still an excellent whiskey that won't break the bank.
I genuinely love Evan Williams BiB, it's my go to daily along with standard Makers TBH. Ancient age is best as a mixer.
My favorite mixers are either Jim Beam White Label or Canadian Club 12 which actually is a great whiskey for the price. It may not be American but it’s pretty good
@@olianderson1194, when I tried Ca Club 12, I was astounded at how much better it was than the 8.
I like the regular video format instead of the shots, very good. Keep them coming.
It also depends on what you want out of it, if you want it neat, you might want to spend a couple more dollars to get some that are great neat and can be in cocktails.
I like Sobieski for a cheap vodka, it's generally well regarded.
Maybe not "cheap" but on the cheaper end Deep Eddy's makes the best flavored vodkas, especially the lime, grapefruit and cranberry.
fleur de caña actually has some of the best middle shelf rums. Great pricing and a brand I don’t see frequently in the craft cocktail scene as they have no representatives in my area
I recommend Diplomatico's lineup too, namely Mantuano for the price and the good blend they put together! Flor de Caña is by far my favorite too
A personal recommendation on tequila from experience: Milagro! Blue bottle (silver) for mixed drinks, and the orange bottle to drink straight (reposado). It’s generally about the same price as other tequilas too!
bring this guy out more, he knows his shi very well
What I will say is if your juniper notes are too harsh in your gin I'd suggest sticking it in your freezer to chill and/or investing in a nice botanical blend
McQueen and The Violet Fog is a Brazillian gin thats become more popular in the states over the past couple of years. If you like fruitier flavors, the lemongrass they use in their blend sets it off so well! ((If you chill this bottle, swear to God it tastes like Froot Loops))
$35-$40 for a 750 ML. Worth every penny!
Alternatively, Whitley Neill Raspberry is delightful!
Flor de Caña is a great recommendation. Excellent rum at an affordable price!
Also, they have a product for every price range.
Some of the best liquor advice I heard
You guys are like go to experts when comes to it
Mind blown..yall are the liquor store bros I need.. 41 yrs old i still stick to the same ol..please open a store further south..say Indian River County 🤙
How about POLK COUNTY too 😂
also Evan Williams BoB is one of the better under 25 bottles of bourbon I’ve had. State minimum in Michigan is around 19 last time I checked
Watched the video to see this bottle and was disappointed so straight to the comments and thank you
what you mean by state minimum?
@@shivampatel7510control states like Michigan and Ohio have a set price that an alcohol is priced at.
Are you telling me there has to be a minimum price? Ok crossing Michigan off the list
@@lastname-Nm by a minimum price it’s more like a maximum price, but yes.
That Flor de Caña white rum is a good one.
Regarding Scotch, there are no truly budget friendly single malts out there but some blends are cheap and very decent. Teacher's is particularly good value for money.
Speyburn 10 is a decent budget pour
That was a great detailed video on liquors!
95% correct...Smirnoff sucks & there are better options. Sobieski or Wheatley if you want to stay on the low end.
Everything else he said is 100% spot on....but it serves the lowest tier customer.
I always break things down to 4 categories:
$20-40
$40-60
$60-100
$100+
There are rare exceptions where you get a $40+ spirit for $20-30...but generally speaking? You get what you pay for.
$40-60 will get you the highest quality everything - except scotch...
$60+ is really like "This better be amazing - or you better have a good reason for this price." Lol
The only part that doesnt make any sense is when he said "it doesnt matter the brand, what matters is what's inside".. like bro i think the brand is a pretty good way to determine whats inside
Glenmorangie 10 and Monkey shoulder are both $35 and scotch is so much different than bourbon. I get they are under the same umbrella of whiskey but it’s like comparing a Pinot noir to a Cabernet.
Brother holding the Bumbu when he talked about rum made me smile
Cazadores was one of my go-tos for tequila.
Seagrams vodka is banger, and the NA Gin is actually really good
Budget Sazarac bourbons are wonderful ancient age and Very old Barton are nice drink!
Sobieski vodka is $10 per 750ml in my neck of the woods. I'd put it against Absolut, Tito's and Stoli any day.
more drink reviews and 15-20 min videos please!
Good Honest suggestions
Benchmark 8 is the cheapest straight bourbon whiskey on the shelf and is a buffalo trace product. Cruzan is a great budget rum.
im a recovering alcoholic and no matter how many times i click on “stop recommending this channel to me” youtube still keeps recommending it 😵
Flor de Caña...thanks for so many black outs. Cheers 🥂
Dude went straight for the smirnoff it’s over
My go-to budget alcohols:
Vodka: Korski
Gin: Seagrams
Whiskey: Paddys
Scotch: Dewers White Label
Schnapps: Lightning / Thunder 101
Wine: Carlo Rossi Moscato Sangria
Liquor store bro never fails to let us down!
I agree on everything except Gin. Using Drumshanbo or Hendricks instead of fucking Gordon's in plastic bottles makes an insane difference, especially in gin&tonic. Drumshanbo with Fever Tree Elderflower Tonic is like a mansion and Gordons with Schweppes Tonic is like a tent.
But the question is, are you going for classic tonic, or something that deviates from it? Because both hendricks and drum deviate from london dry, and so does fever tree's tonic water deviates from classic tonic flavor. I'm not saying they're bad, on the contrary they're delicious, but it all depends.
@@xSintex Yeah I guess it deviates from the classic tonic. But even then taking fever tree premium dry tonic water and tanqueray to make a classic tonic is still way ahead of Gordons.
Makes sense as to why the Jose Quervo hit different 😂 I was on my asss
Team Flor de Cana! God I love that stuff
Evan Williams White Label is a good one too
Yukon Jack is the best cheap liquore keep in mind its a liquore not a wiskey but its best used in place of whiskey.
Very good advice
As someone from europe my favourite cheap liquor is spar budget vodka 0.7l for 8e
Ancient age and benchmark are staples at my house when mixing drinks 😂🤘
The only thing i would replace is the gin for either Beefeater or Bombay/Sapphire and the tequila with El Jimador or Milagro. Good stuff 👍🏽
Nah, New Amsterdam is half the price of anything else in a glass bottle. It’s the best budget liquor out there across all types of liquor. Bombay Sapphire is gross. Tanqueray Rangpur is the best gin out there overall.
I'm definitely a fan of the Sapphire. One of my all time favorites for a classic gin and tonic.
Bombay is good but not cheap. Beefeater is kind of the golden sweet spot but it's overpriced at most small liquor stores and grocers.
I love when people film regular videos in HDR like it’s a nature documentary, it totally doesn’t blind me at any time of day and make the video that much harder to watch.
I work at a Walmart in Las Vegas and we have a brand of vodka called Caliber and it's by far the cheapest and honestly maybe the best vodka I've ever had even out of the expensive ones.
This was helpful.
Cimarrón is a wonderful budget brand of tequila that's also verified additive free... Unlike monte Alban and José Cuervo.
Vodka tastes like what it is made of, it is not tasteless.
Flor de Caña. Finally. A man of culture 🔥
I HIGHLY recommend the 12 Y.O. bottle.
I used Monte Alban for a long time because it was so affordable. It's definitely a sweet, peppery tequila. I always felt like it was a good choice. I feel like I just got confirmation of that
What wines do you recommend for first time
Great information! The Tequila is a funny one, and needs clarification. Cuervo silver you showed at the end is the exception as it is "Made With" blue Agave vs. 100% Blue Agave. Big difference when you are considering a great sip vs. a night of bad decisions. Jimador Tequila is another great budget brand.
Cheers and keep these great video coming.
The tequila budget bottle he shows is Monte Alban silver which does state 100% agave on the bottle
I think this is great for mixing but when it comes down to pure liquor / shots - flavor makes a ton of difference between brands
Arette for tequila is also a great budget option
Never before has so much wisdom on liquor been condensed in 1:30.
thanks liquor store bro, now i can feel better because i saved money when i get shitfaced 3 days out of the week
Legit tequila will also always have an ArteNOM certification stamp/icon on the bottle.
Gordon's gin is honestly great
i'd take it over any other, most of the time
Bumbu is vanilla extract, with sugar, and notes of ethanol....
Yea i always go for the titos handmade stuff is the best
Any advice for cognac options?
How do you just have a bar in your house… Having a stocked bar would destroy my life I think.
Ancient age is pretty dang tasty, so is that bumbu rum. as far tequila goes, mixto's tend to be cheaper than 100% agave and unless your drinking it strait, it'll do well enough in your cocktail.
Bumbu tastes good but it's like syrup. And not as strong as most rums. So it's tough to mix rum cocktails with it if you're someone like me that sucks at making drinks.
"Well enough" is not "good", and if your mixto choice is Jose Cuervo... the entry 100% agave ones are just 5 bucks more for the fifth tops and you will get a better agave flavor
Bumbu is stupid. Just buy a nice rum that doesn't have sugar added. I'd rather add sugar as needed.
Also don't recommend mixtos, they aren't good in anything. Drinks with better liquor taste better.
Ive had jin once in my 34 years and i took off and blew up like the shuttle in 2003
Sobieski vodka is the absolute best value in my opinion
I guess everybody has to start somewhere lol Cheap isn't where I'd put priority, but I get it
Malibu black it's pretty good stuff for cheap
What's a good quality tequila or potato vodka for someone with autoimmune disorder. Love beer but I have a reaction.
finally!! thanks :)
Notice to my Liquor Brothers (and Sisters): 100 on the AA Bourbon .
you can make your own gin pretty easily. Just vodka, some juniper berries and maybe other spices or herbs
That's not gin though, gin is that + you distill it again so it's once again clear. It's illegal to make your own actual gin
@@nevadanate4957 it tastes almost the same if not better. So yeah it technically is not gin, but i dont care
@regeman100 I mean enjoy your bitters (I think that's technically what it is?)
@@nevadanate4957 Actually scrap my previous answer. Quick google search and some books made it pretty obvious, that adding juniper during distillation is not the only way to make gin. You can use term Gin for infused plain alcohol as long as it contains juniper berries. So yeah i drink and make my own gin
goodnight
Flor de cana is fantastic especially the 18 year
If it gies down and stays down, all you need to know is how
fast it works.
Lunazul is the best cheap tequila I've tried. It's like $20 a bottle, and is just as good, or better than the others.
I don't agree with Smirnoff over Tito's. Around here, Tito's is like $25 a bottle and Smirnoff is $24, yet Titos is way better. The best Vodka I've ever had is Zyr Vodka. It's definitely worth the price. What's interesting is my bottles say they were made in Russia, but current ones say they were made in USA.
The Rum and Bourbon recommendations I haven't tried though. I've been looking for Buffalo Trace, and so far my favorite Bourbon has been Maker's 46.Perhaps I'll try them soon.
What about cognac?
what about shine drinkers like myself, Ole Smokey?
Skol.... Good God 💀😭 THE EFFING WORST
Gin is not essentially flavored vodka tho. The distilling process is super different
Bourbon
Go with "Ancient Ancient Age"
Or Evan Williams bottled in Bond
My workhorse tequila? El Jimador!
John Barr just about matches JWB, in every measure, and for half the price too.
Hey liquor store bro, dumb question. What do you do with people born on leap years? Do you still mess with them stating they aren't the legal drinking age or do you allow it? Next year is a leap year and I know someone born on that day.
I was expecting the massive bottles of liquor
Old forester 100
Another great budget bourbon is wild turkey 101
Svedka is ky go to vodka, 1800 tequilla and Jim beam
Legit, i’m 21. Really fucked ip and listening to “ El Enamorado” (i’m in love) by Los Titanes De Durango. (I got ID but the cashier)
I've been trying to find good whiskeys for under $30. I drink mine neat, so I am not looking for something that is only good for mixing. Sadly, none of the liquor stores here have the one whiskey I loved (Kavanagh's single malt).
The ancient age suggestion can not be forgiven
Flor de Cana Rum is the best rum ever!!
True story!
Flor de Cana is bit untrustworthy as a company and they are part of the problem of rum being so vague
ANCIENT AGE?! SERIOUSLY?!
What about cognac
Bumbu is an excellent tasting rum. I don’t think people drinking rum care much about additives especially 4 year flor de cana
I dunno about that ancient age my guy.
Smirnoff? Hell no, you can’t drink it straight at all, taste like hand sanitizer, and hangover is terrible. It’s distilled within an inch of being an industrial solvent, then diluted and mixed to get the desired ABV. That makes for a pretty harsh drink
Not sure I agree about Smirnoff... It was 1995, I was in college, but Smirnoff was a rough drink compared to Absolute.
