5. Very Old Barton 7:25

Evan Williams has so many flavors, 100 proof bnb and around $17 has to be the best value available
This is a gret idea to know about all types of Whiskey. I build a Whiskey Dispenser and planning on building more. Couple of clients requested them for diffrent types of Whiskey.
@S. Williams same with me man...
@S. Williams lolo man thats sound refreshing right now.. i picture you feet up, cigar and an ocean view lolo.... 🍻🤝
@S. Williams 🤣🤣cheers mate 🤣🍻🤝...
Loved Evan WIlliams green label. It seems they've discontinued.
Evan Williams Single Barrel is one I would add to that list, consistent, under$30 and just good whiskey
Thank you guys for the list. I am about at the end of a Middle East deployment (no drinking for many months) and have already ordered several bourbons that are awaiting my return. A few of these are soon to be in the next order!
Old Forester 1920 finally showed up at my local store for the first time a few months ago, it's the last bottle I grabbed before confinement started. Wild Turkey 101 and Evan Williams BiB would be my own best value picks, but there's a lot of good cheap stuff that doesn't get sold here.
Thank you for giving Old Forester some love. I've been drinking it for years and it can't be beaten for a bourbon under $30.
100% agree with the Old Forrester line. My new obsession. Also love the Wild Turkey Rare Breed. I would add Knob Creek 100 and/or 120. EH Taylor Bottled in Bond is delicious and an excellent value if you can find it.
This is a gret idea to know about all types of Whiskey. I build a Whiskey Dispenser and planning on building more. Couple of clients requested them for diffrent types of Whiskey.
Old Forester is becoming my favorite American whiskey maker. Signature, 1920, Rye, and Single barrel are all outstanding and ridiculously cheap for the quality
Yea their pricing is on point for the juice in the bottles for the most part.
Yeah? I wonder if that available here in Canada...I prefer Rye to Bourbon myself, and I prefer Irish whiskey to Rye. I've heard/read a few comments regarding Old Forester now. It's piqued my interest.
The Foresters products rock. I bought a whole pile of the prohibition repeal anniversary pints with two tasting glasses for 6.99 each years ago. Still have a few left.
Just found the channel, I think I can respect the opinions of anyone who holds Rare Breed in high regard. Subscribed.
Thanks for being here man!
Agree. I have dozens of bottles in my collection from $17 to $200 and Rare Breed is my favorite of anything right now.
So fun you guys!! Don't know how I found you but love your videos, I'm new to whiskey so can't wait to check out more of your content, Well done very professional videos👊
Evan Williams was a favorite of mine when I was younger, and while I still don't consider myself a Bourbon expert I have expanded my selections over time. Knob Creek, Bulleit, and so forth, but I recently tried a Four Roses Small Batch, it was about $32 and I have to say it's quite nice. Not sure where you'd rank it, but it's on my radar now.
Agree. Four Roses Small Batch is very good. Its better and cheaper than the single barrel.
50k+ views in 5 days, that’s what I’m talking about! Best bourbon channel on RUclips! I always recommend Wild Turkey 101, at any price point. My whiskey collection is well into thousands- good sh*t, all the top bottles from the top distilleries, no silly novelty bourbons. And yet day after day, Wild Turkey 101 is what I reach for.
Great list guys! Personally, 1792 BIB for $35ish is hard to beat. I’ll also say OGD bonded sells for around $20 in Texas and that’s another tough budget bourbon to beat.
+1 for OGD BiB....the best expression of that brand, punches WAY above it's price point.
I just tried 1792 SB for the first time and I am seriously impressed. It is normally 45 USD here in Canada but I got it for $35. Nice to see there is a shared appreciation of this bourbon.
Old Granddad 114 would be the one of the only ones I can think of that’s missing.
Evan William's BIB is damn good too
Ya I was just going down to comment OGD 114 is a very good value and should be at least an honorable mention
happy to see this is the top comment
OGD 114 is great!!
OGD114 great value. easily one of the most underrated whiskeys. that's ok. stock up folks.
WT 101 and Evan Williams Single Barrel - good bourbons, reasonable price and easy to find....
This is a gret idea to know about all types of Whiskey. I build a Whiskey Dispenser and planning on building more. Couple of clients requested them for diffrent types of Whiskey.
Two of my favorites.
WT101, OGDBIB/114, and FC are some of my favorite everyday bourbons. AND 3 of those 4 can be found under $20 here in AZ.
Evan Williams single barrel is one of my favorites that's hard to beat for the price. Typically $25-28 where I live
This is a gret idea to know about all types of Whiskey. I build a Whiskey Dispenser and planning on building more. Couple of clients requested them for diffrent types of Whiskey.
So I've been looking for 2 or 3 cheaper bottles for the home bar so I'm not drinking 50-100$ bourbon every night. I subscribed to you guys a few months back and I just gotta say thanks for some solid recommendations. I bought early times BIB and tried for the first time a couple nights ago because of this channel. I'm kinda annoyed how good it is for such a cheap liter lol.
P.s. OGD 114 would be my pick for this list that's left off
OGD 114 is a great bourbon at the price point
Great show guys! I work at a State store (liquor store) in PA. So yea I know different states not getting certain bottles etc. My particular store is a premium spirits store. Lots of times I’m still clueless about certain things. Watching you guys I can maybe get a little more educated 👍
Evan Williams would make my list.. Great daily at a great price
Truth!
Nice action on the double flip!!! Your content just keeps getting better and better! Keep it up! I would add Eagle Rare, most places not yet allocated and 10 year delicious juice for $35... cheers 🥃
That flip was unplanned, and yea we catch shit for saying Buffalo Trace and eagle rare. People always tell us they can't find it in so many states.
Eagle Rare here in Florida. $45 and can't ever find it.
I've recently found the Old Forester line and agree, unique Bourbon and great price point.
OF 100 is a bit peppery (maybe that’s not the right word, but that’s how it registers to me), which makes for a super nice old fashioned
I really like Old Foresters stuff too. I recently mail-ordered 2 bottles of Old Forester Signature Bourbon 100 Proof (@$25 each) and the person picking the order must've been watching butterflies or something because I got 2 bottles of Old Forester 1897 BIB (@$50 each) instead. Well, in the employee's defense, they are both 100 proof! Needless to say, I didn't complain or return them. You guys are fun to watch, keep up the honest, entertaining content!
Glad to see Evan single all over the comments. Honestly my favorite under $40 and definitely the best value at any price
Yea a lot of people really like it!
OF is quickly becoming my go to bourbon. Rare Breed is my favorite bourbon going right now! One of my favorite value bourbon is Jim Beam Repeal Batch. 86 proof and you can find it in some places for $10! Great video fellas! Y’all crack me up! Cheers!
Great video fellas. I recently picked up my first bottle of Very Old Barton 100 proof and paid $13 for it in CA..... Amazing bang for the buck!
For that price it's hard to beat
Forester 86 was my gateway into bourbon, I'll never be mad at it. It's not a bourbon but I would add Forester rye to the list, easily my favorite daily rye drinker
I mean OF rye was our available whiskey of the year for a reason.
Evan Williams BiB is by far my every day favorite. Around Atlanta I can find the 1.75L all day for $25.99! I have blind tasted this with $40, $50 & $60 + 750 ml bottles & it has won a few times. My wheelhouse is Barrel Proof/Cask Strength Whiskey. I have come to realize that I thoroughly enjoy BiB whiskey. 1792 BiB around Atlanta sells for $33.99 & is very good also. Keep up the good work guys & CHEERS🥃😋
My daily jug is Evan Williams, good bourbon at a great price IMO. Years ago I was into Grand Dad 114, more money but good at it's price point, unfortunately I don't see it around here (south of Boston) any more.
Love your Channel you guys have help me out pick out some really good bourbon appreciate it
Glad you're enjoying them, cheers!
This is a gret idea to know about all types of Whiskey. I build a Whiskey Dispenser and planning on building more. Couple of clients requested them for diffrent types of Whiskey.
Buffalo Trace! Delicious straight or in a cocktail, readily available and at a 20ish dollar price point, it’s a great bottle for the regular drink.
yeah not sure why thats not in there!
"readily available" 🙄
It's still at grocery stores in MI lol
@@BourbonJunkies How much and or why does nobody in MI drink BT?! 😂
@@Hotlog69 If I can get my hands on it here, it's readily available. For perspective: a couple weeks ago I hit all but one liquor store in town looking for a bottle of Laphroaig. Not a special bottle, just ANY bottle. I finally found a 10 year without having to go to the one I avoid because the owner's a prick, but it was a hunt. And they all had Buffalo Trace.
Fitzgerald’s Larceny (92 proof) $30/a bottle in NY. Great value for delicious whiskey 👍🏽
That’s a good bourbon. When it’s on sale here for 24 I stock up on it.
$24.99 standard price at most liquor stores in Colorado
I love larceny, Im lucky I can get it for 20 all day
Great channel! I agree with GBJ30....Evan Williams single barrel is a GREAT value. Having bought it from coast to coast its very consistent.
I continue to enjoy the several seconds of the BJ intro music, gents😄 Keep up the great vids and amazing streams too
Streaming is about our favorite thing ever so for sure not going anywhere on that.
Discovered OF products through you guys, thanks for that! I still need to try the SB 1792, that's def on my list. The only one I'd suggest is WT 101. So stupidly good and less than $20.
VOB 100 proof is $12.95 in Houston! VOB crushes a lot of higher priced bottles.
Same. I'll be honest, when I was just looking at bottles on the shelf Old Forester didn't pass my smell test. The whole whiskey row line stinks of branding and marketing. Even when I discovered the Old Forester Rye and started using it as my well cocktail whiskey I still ignored the more expensive stuff. Big mistake!
I don't like the 1920 as much as they do, but, I love love love the 1910.
All good choices. I keep a handle of Evan Williams 1783 on the shelf for friends just getting into bourbon as well.
Bang on with those choices boys! Can’t find the Very Old Barton up here in Ontario though but I’ll take your word for it.
It's not in Michigan either. We stocked up on some when we went to Kentucky!
JTS Brown is the best for the price for me, followed closely by Very Old Barton. $12 in NC for JTS. Thank Bourbon Junkies for the videos!!! I love them
That Early Times is amazing, and unavailable where I live. I miss it real bad. You could have added the Jim Beam Double Oak. Shocked at its price-to-flavor ratio. Oh, and Evan Williams Bottled-in-Bond. Not as smooth, but it’s my workhorse.
I finally tried Early Times on my last restock of Whisky, and my lord, am I so disappointed in myself for not trying it sooner! Turn the snob mode off and reach for it, gents!
Buffalo trace. Thats my Favorite overall bourbon. I also really like 291 Colorado Bourbon
Buffalo Trace is the best bourbon under $30! So buttery and delicious.
Nailed it with Old Forester 1920! 1897 is amazing too and cheaper. Also good old Buffalo Trace and Michter's for $42?...no brainer. Strong work fellas, keep it up!
Thanks!
All solid choices.100 % agree about OF . Pretty much the whole OF line up is fantastic reasonable priced and available. Rare breed also great bottle for the price.
Another great video guys👊.
My favorite value is Elijah Craig.
EC is my go to bourbon....other then BT
My favorite under 20 bottle is(14 bucks in my area) Even Williams 100 Proof.
Turkey 101 and Rye 101 is great. Can you tell me what you guys like about Early Times? I like everything on this list but can't stand Early Times for some reason.
Cool to see you had Very Old Barton in there. I have seen it locally and have been curious but always shied away...but now I'm ready to try it. P.S. I have always been really happy with the Old forester stuff. In fact I'm becoming a pretty big fan of theirs.
Never gotten into bourbon, though I have wanted to do it. It's a 'romance' thing how bourbon sipping and life just go together. Ive had some good (Knob Creek) and some low-price. Wanna find some good shelf-takers to enjoy at a good price. This is the kinda bourbon snob-less, real dude talk, no-bullshit list I have been wanting! THANKS! Subscribed to learn more!
6 months after you made this comment, I'm wondering if you've progressed your bourbon journey?
@@Jbroker404 yes I have. And got my first rye, also-High West Whiskey Double Rye. My go-to’s right now are Knob 9 year, 1792 Small Batch (looking for Cask Strength), Elijah Craig and Larceny. Just got a Bradshaw to try. Hbu?
I only had Rare Breed out of those. I'd maybe put Maker's 46 on that list. It was the first Bourbon I ever had and it was beautiful when I tried it at a bar in Berlin during my holidays. It's less than 40€ here, so I'd still consider it somewhat value.
Maker's 46 is one I always keep at home, Dan would disagree with me on that. Cheers!
Do you remember which bar in Berlin? I live here and, as soon as life is back to normal, I will definitely head there and, if it’s not out of business due to the pandemic, I will happily try it 🥃
@@davidanania5618 It was the bar/restaurant of Pullman Berlin Schweizerhof.
You should be able to go there, even if you aren't staying at the hotel.
This is a gret idea to know about all types of Whiskey. I build a Whiskey Dispenser and planning on building more. Couple of clients requested them for diffrent types of Whiskey.
This is a gret idea to know about all types of Whiskey. I build a Whiskey Dispenser and planning on building more. Couple of clients requested them for diffrent types of Whiskey.
Glad you included Very Old Barton. I love that stuff and I live in Texas, where we can get it pretty regularly. For under $20 it's a steal.
Jim Murray says it best: "Find fault with this whiskey."
I’ve never seen a bottle of VOB in oregon. Maybe one day it’ll show up
Elijah Craig small batch or old grand dad 114
OF 100 Rye, WT 101, and OGD 114 of course!
Totally agree!!!!!
Nice selection BJs....and awesome synchronized bottle flips. I wouldve added Knob Creek 120 and OGD 114...
Love the list! Cannot find fault in your picks. I would add Wild Turkey 101 if possible. Cheers!
Thanks boys! I can get WT RB for $54 CAD, so it’s always one I’ll have on my shelf. Dan, I agree; 1792 has the worst cork in the game.
Evan Williams Bottled in Bond
I'd love to try the Heaven Hill BIB but I agree that the EW BIB is worthy.
Heaven Hill green label 90 proof. It used to be Ky only but you might be able to find it. 6 year old
Honestly, all of the Evan Williams products are great budget picks. Well, maybe not the 1783.
They just started selling ew bib near me, and then it’s great! I think i still prefer OGD bonded and WT 101 a little more, but for the price you can’t beat it
Bought a bottle of this the other day in NJ for 55.00! OUTSTANDING! But don't tell anybody!
Bottle of what exactly?
"This" ... duh
I'm a fan of Evan Williams Bottle-in-Bond. Very smooth and $20 a liter. Started out with the green label(80 proof) jumped to black label(86 proof) then graduated to white label(100 proof) All are good and inexpensive.
Evan Williams Bottled in Bond is a hell of a bang for the buck.
EW white label is the best bourbon under $20 hands down.
I do think 1792 is underrated by many, but for the same price I think regular Knob Creek is better.
Also Cooper's Craft Barrel Reserve is damn good stuff for $30.
Truly entertaining and informative. Thanks guys!
Thanks!
I tried Bulleit, 1792, Woodford Reserve and Buffalo Trace and still when back to Maker’s Mark. I like Blanton’s but not available in Houston. Oddly it is readily available in Sunriver Oregon so I keep a stash at my house up there.
Woodford reserve for me in our area is a killer deal.
I would change very old Barton for evan Williams bib or evan Williams single barrel but other than that all other solid choices!!!!
Very Old Barton is a solid choice. I like the BiB over the 80 proof.
Was going to add Evan Williams sb to my suggestions before I saw you did already. Best buy in bourbon today.
Definitely agree
@@ericsutton3069 - I can't stand the 80 proof. It tastes like brandy. It reminds me of my early 20s drinking E&J.
Was thinking the Evan Williams BIB as well. Best under $20 I've had so far
I wish I could get the higher end expressions of Old Forester in my area, but all I can find is the 86. I keep trying new bourbons, but I keep going back to OF86, because it just tastes so damn good. Even my better half who is NOT into whisk(e)y at all, likes it.
I am so excited to find this, you two are GREAT 🧡🧡🧡🧡
Thanks, cheers!
This is a gret idea to know about all types of Whiskey. I build a Whiskey Dispenser and planning on building more. Couple of clients requested them for diffrent types of Whiskey.
buffalo trace for $25 is incredible
old gran dad 114 for $32 as well
Old 114 is only about $22 in Houston area. May be the best reason to live there.
Agree with just about everything. I love Rare Breed!
Solid line up. Cheers!
Have you rated Oak and Eden? It’s about $40. Probably my favorite. IMO, quite smooth
you left out Russell's Reserve Single Barrel and Knob Creek Single Barrel Select (especially store picks).
Yea, store picks are the true secret in bourbon. Guess they were going for more widely available through
Agree with Russell's Reverse, I was scrolling trying to find someone mention it. I go through one bottle every week or two Haha
I'm not fond of Sazerac's allocation either. Kudos to the stores that don't jack the price of Buffalo Trace when and where I can find it.
Nice job fellas, but I gotta throw knob creek small batch into this mix. Not sure about availability in other states but everyday here in the OH. $30-32 price.
As a blue collar dad providing for a family on a budget EWBiB and WT101 are my go-to's for nightly sipping. They are fantastic. I'll have EW Black for mixing if I want a cold drink during the afternoon. Iam sure a lot are better but living up here in Seattle its spendy to buy alcohol. We have the highests taxes on booze in the country.
Isn't it something crazy like 25%?
Knob Creek Store picks are such good value for the money but I know thay are not something everyone sees on shelves everywhere. Rebel Yell 100 is $21 dollars and is a damn good wheated bourbon.
We tried to keep store picks out of it because they differ and can be hard to find but those knob Creek pics are among the best value in the store pick space for sure
Love Knob Creek
@@deamoore120 Me too!
I’d like to see a review of the top 7 most commonly known whiskey. For example, Jack Daniels, Jim Bean, Jameson, etc.
Yes, how about these:
Jack Daniel's
Johnny Walker
Jim Beam
Jameson
Crown Royal
Bulleit Rye (or whatever the #1 selling American Rye Whiskey is, I'm only assuming that it is the Bulleit Rye. Either way, I'm confident nobody produces more Rye Whiskey than MGP, and Bulleit is a fine representation of their juice)
I know that is only 6 and you suggested 7. But I honestly can't think of another example without starting to get redundant. There's already a lot of overlap between JD & JB, just one went through charcoal filter and one didn't. You could throw in Seagram's 7 Crown, but that's closer to vodka than Whiskey (about 80% "neutral grain alcohol"). We could throw in a Japanese or Indian whisky (5 of the 7 best selling whiskies by volume are from India but get very little attention in North America) The next 2 top selling non-Indian whiskies that are not in my list of 6 is Ballantine's and Chivas Regal., They are both Scotch like Johnnie Walker. So my recommendation is to just stop at 6 rather than trying shoe-horn a 7th brand into the mix. If you really want to reach for 7, rather than adding another Scotch (the two previously mentioned , or Bourbon (Maker's Mark), or Canadian whisky (Canadian Club), I would consider a Japanese Whisky just so that it has a representation in the video. Previously would go with a Suntory or Black Nikka.

You're comparing applies and oranges.
Bourbon whiskey and whiskey are NOT the same thing. Google it.
@@geoben1810 lol, OK dude. Seems you have a lot to learn my friend.
Everything I listed is a whiskey.
Whiskey comes in several types, or subcategories.
Bourbon
Canadian
Irish
Japanese
Rye
Scotch
All of these are types of Whiskey (or "whisky")
four roses i was personally dissapointed in mostly because i found it to taste more like a blended canadian whiskey like crown rather than a bourbon
Old Forster and Evan Williams is my go two's when I'm wanting a bourbon
Old Forester made the list! “Shocked face” jk, Prohibition Style blew me away when I first tried it
If they would stop making good affordable products we'd stop talking about them lol.
OF has upped their game. Love the Prohibition and the 100 proof 'orange label' is a fabulous daily sipper
Old Fo 1920 & Lost Monarch all a man needs
This is a gret idea to know about all types of Whiskey. I build a Whiskey Dispenser and planning on building more. Couple of clients requested them for diffrent types of Whiskey.
I’ve added some of these to my ever growing wishlist
Can't go wrong with any of them!
Elijah Craig Small Batch $31 everyday or $27 on sale IMO is a fantastic value for money. Ezra Brooks 90 is my daily driver. $26 a handle and from time to time it goes on sale for ~$22 here in Charlotte, NC. Cheers!
Another Michigan soul, so I'll have to hunt VOB BiB when traveling. I would add regular Henry McKenna (not the 10yr BiB), Eagle Rare, and 4 Roses Small Batch as value picks
This is a gret idea to know about all types of Whiskey. I build a Whiskey Dispenser and planning on building more. Couple of clients requested them for diffrent types of Whiskey.
Wild Turkey 101, which I can buy locally for $19.99
This may not be as easy to find in some states, but Bowman Brothers small batch (aged in West Virginia but sourced from Kentucky, Buffalo Trace I think) is roughly $30 here in Southern California and is delicious.
Yea we like their products quite a bit
I cannot find VOB 100 BIB, it says crafted in that spot under the neck for me. Is this state specific or did they do away with the BIB?
Did away with the BiB apparently
Bottles left out : Evan Williams BIB and SmokeWagon base bottle $30
Totally agree on the Smoke Wagon base bottle, so delicious despite its younger age.
Really Buffalo Trace is one of my favorites.
I agree with this one too--it is excellent for the money--but in my area, you have to order the 100 proof by special order in case lots only.
Can you guys do a review on the KC9? Great review on the KC 12 by the way!!
Really wish I could find Lost Monarch and Early Times BiB in FL.
For a (very) cheap bourbon that I think is good for the price, I’ll often buy Benchmark (By Buffalo Trace).
Ssssshhhhhh! Quiet....
My best bargain daily drinker bourbon for years was Heaven Hill 6 year Bottled in Bond. $11.49 and damn tasty!! Since they stopped making it, I switched to Early Times Bib $24.99 a liter.
I buy Old Forested 86 as my go to. I drink it straight, juleps, with ginger, and my favorite Manhattans. Best buy going for pretty dang good quality. I just bought a bottle of 1870 Original Batch but haven't opened it yet. My next try will be 1920.
I'd agree with most on that list, but I hold the line at Old Forrester 1920, especially at $60. FWIW, I love Rare Breed - been drinking it for 15+ years. I have also gotten a few Larceny Single Barrel bottles for between $26 and $29 (before tax). I don't necessarily enjoy Old Barton, but would happily change it out with Evan Williams BiB for $18. I appreciate the content, and the recommendation to try Early Times from a few months back.
Yea a lot of people have said to swap in EW BiB for a couple things. It's honestly a good bottle as well so I don't hate the sub for some different pallets

Elijah Craig Small Batch @ Costco
In my home, we have been enjoying Tin Cup, and the Tin Cup 10 year. Also a huge Orphan Barrel fan.

Tincup is so smooth. Love it
That seals it, 1792 small batch is my next purchase, I’ve passed over it too often lately, time to pick one up.
Dan hates to blind it first
Bourbon Junkies admittedly there is some appeal to the 1792 simply because of his begrudging admission that he likes it 😂
