- Have you ever wondered what sets wine, beer, rum, gin, vodka, tequila, brandy, whiskey, and scotch apart? In this video, we'll break it down for you in simple terms.
We'll start by exploring the fermentation process, which is how alcohol is made. You'll learn about the fascinating journey from raw ingredients to the delicious beverages we enjoy. Now, let's talk about wine and beer. These drinks have a limited alcohol percentage, but fear not! To boost the alcohol content, a process called distillation is used. This technique helps increase the potency of these drinks.
Speaking of distillation, it gives rise to spirits or distilled alcoholic beverages. Some popular examples include rum, whiskey, scotch, gin, vodka, tequila, and brandy. Each spirit has its unique characteristics and flavors that make them stand out.
But wait, there's more! If we add herbs or sugar to spirits, we get a special category known as liqueur. These delightful concoctions offer a whole new world of flavors to explore.
In our video, we'll also dive into the concept of ABV (Alcohol by Volume). It's a measure that tells us how much alcohol is present in different drinks. We'll explore the alcohol content in various alcoholic beverages, giving you a better understanding of their strengths.
Lastly, we'll unveil the crown jewel-the strongest alcoholic beverage in the world. Prepare to be amazed as we reveal the drink with the highest alcohol percentage.

During distillation, when the mixture is heated, both alcohol and water evaporate. (Alcohol boils at around 78.37 degrees Celsius, while water boils at 100 degrees Celsius at standard atmospheric pressure (1 atmosphere)). However, because alcohol has a lower boiling point, it evaporates more readily than water. So, when the vapor rises up, it has more alcohol in it than water. This helps separate the alcohol from the water in the mixture.

It is good that you clarified this point.
I started drinking alcohol since my teenage, spent my whole life fighting alcohol addiction. Also suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Not until my mom recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.
No doubts shrooms are 100% blessings from nature. Indeed nature's little miracles.
Can you help me with the reliable source 🙏. I'm 56 and have suffered for years with addiction, anxiety and severe ptsd, I got my panic attacks under control myself years ago and they have come back with a vengeance, I'm constantly trying to take full breaths but can't get the full satisfying breath out, it's absolutely crippling me, i live in France. I don't know much about these mushrooms. Really need a reliable source!! Can't wait to get them.
YES very sure of Dr.alishrooms. I have the same experience with anxiety, depression, PTSD and addiction and Mushrooms definitely made a huge huge difference to why am clean today.
Ive done shrooms last month in my home. It taught me how severely traumatized I was from alcohol. I healed from many mental traumas from my past and was able to forgive, let go. Shrooms to me is a remedy not a vice. I even felt more refreshed the morning after. So no hangovers. No depression mood for days. No anxiety.I now have a more calm mind

I worked in a liquor company for over 5 years, but I never knew the differences. Good video.
That is because you are that type of worker who just doesn't give a f***. If you had any interest you would try to educate yourself. I worked in store on section with drinks, and felt stupid for not to know any answer on buyers question, so I read anything I could find about wines and other. My dedication wasn't unnoticed, I was promoted later. Now I'm in nautical company, and again my learning started again. Lots of people just waiting to end their work day, that can't bring any good to them. Not saying that you must be a slave, but little interest will improve you and (if company is fair) will bring more money to you, maybe even a better position.
I think you are still high😂
Glad it was helpful!
What a chu worker 🤣🤣🤣
Haa.haa!!
Beers taste good. Brandy gives a kick, also for health and warmth when drinking moderately. Vodka, Rum, Gin and Tequila for pleasure. Whiskey makes you alive. Too much of each gets you to some regrets the next day. Drink Responsibly.
Rightly said 'drink responsibly'
Scotch is written as "whisky" - whiskey is Irish.

Jim, Jack and Johnnie used to be my friends for about 37 years. It's been 13 years now since the last time i saw them, but we made some very good memories.😅
They come round to mine place occasionally, though normally individually, not together, Jim brings OJ, Jack brings Coke, Johnnie with his blue jacket has some Water.
Ah, it's time for you to meet your old buddies once again very soon. I mean, you must be missing your old friends.

I am not a drinker, but I am training for a job as a server at a pub and this video has helped me in my introduction to alcohol types/categories
I never gave much thought to the actual differences between all different alcoholic beverages. When I saw this, I decided to sit in and listen. I am glad I did. Nicely presented explanation. Thank you.❤
Thank you very much for your presentation
Informative must watch
Informative. Informs you in detail about the adverse health effects of these beverages.
Great video. One thing, water starts boiling at 100, but evaporation occurs at much lower temperatures. It's alcohol's lower boiling point (~78 C) that makes alcohol evapurate much faster than water.
At atmospheric pressure water evaporation acceleration only can be achieved at 100C. Yes, water can evaporate at a much lower temp, it depends on the humidity.

In Brazil we have a distilled beverage called "Cachaça", which is made from sugar cane and has around 50% abv and with it we make a drink called "Caipirinha", by adding some sugar and lemon juice and ice, but it's important to be served cold. It's delicious and I recommend you try it.
Thanks for the input
We made that stuff during my varsity days. Filled 50 litre bins with that stuff. Cases of cane spirit, 10kg bags of sugar, sacks of lemon/lime, litres of lemon/lime cordial and a whole bunch of ice. Mix it and let it sit so the lemons can soak the alc then add the ice. People would crawl to their rooms.
Please share the recipe
That's definitely a rum
Love it! We drink it here too in Suriname.
Thanks for bringing out this information .
Great, simple and excellent informative video.
Thank you!
I shall watch it again when I am stable ! Thank you
This is a great video, knew about some but this explains all types. We have this thing in South Africa called flavoured beer, it's not a cider but beer, I always wondered if other countries have something similar too because there's only 1 brand of it called Flying Fish. it'd be nice to try out others when one gets a chance at travelling.

Good presentation. I'd like to introduce you to the best of the Mediterranean drinks called "Arak". A spirit made from distillation white grapes, often for three times. It's very tasty and famous for its white colour when you add water to its clear spirit.

Is any kind of alcoholic beverage having Sugar content with out adding Sugar in it during the process?
Sugar is not externally added, it's actually the starch or glucose content which get converted. Without that fermentation process will not start and we won't get alcoholic beverages.
Best Explanation I saw
Feni or cashew liqueur is my favorite. Its flavor is fantastic, and it is made in Goa ,India.
Thanks for sharing
There is also a coconut liquor which is quite good and different too.
Excellent thanks ❤
now i know why i love my rums. good job, mate!
Very well done sir! As I’m swiggin’ a beeeeah…. Cheers to you
This is why Tequila is the best, the blue agave plant is the best plant in the world to ferment into a distilled spirit, in my humble opinion. It has a slightly exotic taste with a certain smoothness and ease of consumption that you don't get with any other type of distilled spirit. It's certainly the best/easiest thing to drink straight, making it by far the best drink for taking shots!
Thanks for your information gbu
In my hometown, a rum fermented naturally is strong but also affects the stomach if you drink too much.
Thank you. Very nice video. 👍
Strongest alcohol is methyl alcohol one glass and you never need another forever..

Nice Explanation.
Love ‘em all !!
I love scotch single malt neat, no additions at all🤓 No ice cubes, no water, no soda, no coke 😂 I like scotch single malt about 20 ml during gatherings because it’s smooth, soft with that great feeling of something spicy going down the throat 🤣
is it okay no water mixing in scotch?
Good scotch or whiskey doesn't need additives. That's what the cheap stuffs for. Although a splash of water is supposed to enhance the flavor.
Agree! I'm sipping my single malt Scotch now as I'm reading your comment.
