Agreed, not fantastic. Video is better than the cake. I served mine with sweeten, whipped cream, the portion of cream I didn't use in the cake. Cake is light, airy, not really sweet, rich, or chocolaty. Also a bit dry, maybe 5 minutes less in oven.

In Portugal they sell this version of chocolate cake a lot. I’m not a fan personally. It’s too intense in flavor and doughie for me. It falls heavy on one’s stomach, almost like a brownie. I prefer the Austrian style chocolate cakes, their fruity (apricot jelly) addition makes them fresher and lighter. Those are harder to come by tho.

You are talking about the world famous Sachertorte. It is protected by trademark law and may only be produced by Hotel Sacher. Only a handful of people know the exact recipe. There are many copies but they are not allowed to be called Sachertorte, just Sacher-style cake.
