The only thing left is to load it up with all your gear and family and head on down to your closet CAT scale and weight everything. Can't wait to see your new 3/4 ton truck!
@@GreenWitch1 @earthcandleco It's a curiosity thing. That bathroom door is 1" hardwood. How heavy is that dinette? Jason's build quality is AAA but all that stuff looks way heavier than what would have been original to the unit. Doesn't he drive a F150?
@@billjennifer8803 Idk what he drives, but I doubt it’s heavier. Probably lighter. My “goucho” sofa weighs over 100 lbs. The old refers were very heavy compared to an electric model like I have. I added hardwood flooring to mine & it still pulls easily. It’s an aerodynamic thing.
Beautiful job. I LOVE the woodwork you did, the table, the cabinets, the bedframing with the top openings?! Man, you are a PRO. Now…. Do ENJOY the Airstream with the family….. it’s deserved and … time flies! Enjoy, thanks for sharing
Spun sugar happens to be the paint color we chose for my girls bed frames! I asked my wife “does it darker when you lick it?” My daughter over heard me disappeared into her room, came back out and “no, it doesn’t get darker.” Got to love 4 year olds
Great video only recommendation, Router a groove in the bottom of the door with determined stop points. Then screw a pin into the floor creating a hidden track with stop points. Enjoy the camping season this year!
Just days before your first Airstream video came out, my wife bought the shell of a 29’ Airstream. $6k sunk. While you shipped yours off to boarding school to get properly mechanically refurbished, ours served as storage while my old garage/shop was demolished and rebuilt 3x larger. So 2 year later and we’re still at only $6k sunk. Ours is never intended to be road worthy again, so hoping we finish about 10x lower than yours. It’ll just be an extra sleeping accommodation in the woods when the kids show up with their spawn. But it’s been a pleasure to see what I’m in for.
Jason, I want to congratulate you on this build. I also want to say that you are incredible talented. You are an amazing craftsman and entertainer. Your videos make a great contribution to all of us that aspire to up our game or just like to live vicariously through someone as talented as you.
Congratulations on getting it all finished! I love how well you have blended styles to make something clean and modern that still fits the somewhat retro Airstream aesthetic. And as well as being beautiful and elegant, it seems like it will be optimally functional as well. Hope you, your wife and the Foreman can go out and have some awesome trips soon :)
That aluminum guide on the floor for the bathroom door is going to be a toe magnet in the cramped confines of an RV! If you haven't already, be sure to pad that front edge. Also, you're never going to be guaranteed a perfectly level set up. Look at any surface that might have fluids on it, consider that the fluids may flow in any direction, and think about a backsplash or what you need to seal if that liquid goes the wrong way. For example, you don't want fluids from the bathroom counter to flow behind the counter and develop mold.
Great trick on painting doors. On your pocket door, remove that channel on the floor. Johnson makes a plastic covered blade that attaches to the floor at the at the leading edge of the door when open. You router a slot in the bottom of the door for it to run in. It also stops the door where you want it to be open. If you didnt use them, they make soft close and open hardware that holds closed and open. A nice feature for z house and better for a camper running down the road. Great build. Im sure it will get alot of views.
Your work is incredible Jason. A few pointers from those who RV regularly. You should have pushed that bathroom cabinet back more next to the toilet. All that space behind it is wasted and you’ll want more shoulder room. Also not having a shower is gonna take its toll after a while. But the fit & finish looks incredible!
Great start to the morning. Good coffee video to relax with before deciding what I need to work on today. I mean, it's always more fun to watch you work! Thanks!
What a super cool project to follow for many months. Personally I can't wait to be able to buy a house and start building out my own shop, in large part due to discovering you during the pandemic. Cheers and enjoy the airstream with your family Jason! Can't wait to see more of the fixer up re-build.
FYI for the people talking about there is a shower outside the camper. Those showers are for rinsing mud and sand off things before bringing them into the camper. They are not meant for personal hygiene. Shower water is regarded as Grey water and is usually either banned or outright illegal to dump directly onto/into the ground at most campsites and parks. Oregon where this airstream is housed, it is illegal to dump grey water with out a permit or recycling system in place to protect the water table as it ia considered sewage. So unless there is a water collection system configured, many RV sites will figure out real quick you are dumping. Also, if you RV you know many camps you are close to your neighbors and they will absolutely know you dont have a shower. I recommened bath houses or waterless shower wipes. Also, is there exhaust for that stove? Cause if not you are never gonna use that cook top. Grease and smell EVERYWHERE. Everything is your decision and the wood works great but RVing is work, and there are actual rules and things you need to know. A few tip videos on RV youtube channels and you would have made different choices and still would have a beautiful yet fully functional RV.
This has been an amazing series! I loved seeing your struggles and accomplishments. I am sure that over a few years of use you will figure out additional pieces, like shelves or cubbies, that you will add later. Thanks for being so “real” with the costs and frrustrations. I look forward to your new home reno……even though you might not be!
Great work! I enjoyed tagging along on this Airstream journey. I hope you make many happy memories with your family in it. Your craftmanship is truly amazing.
You have to wallpaper the panels on the doors and under the TP cubby. Overall a fantastic build. I see where some complain about the lack of a shower, Truck stop showers are an option, you avoid mold issues and the complexity that would add to your build.
Very nice! Thank God it's done and now you can enjoy it. Gey yourselg one of those outdoor shower deelies...it has a frame for curtains for your outdoor shower, or something to that effect, and you will be in business!
Looks great. Would have never thought to go with the olive green and pink palette but it all just works. Hope we get some good not smokey camping weather this summer!
Great project completion. I bet that will come in handy for not just vacations, but also for when you are working on the house renovation "out there" in the woods.
Can’t believe it’s done! But looks fantastic. Such an accomplishment to know you built the entire inside of that thing. Looking forward to next weeks vid.
Well done Jason, it looks fab. You can tick that one off the list. Now onto the house reno. Will you also be showing us the extension reno of your workshop too?
Just a heads up: those little pex swivel elbows with the plastic parts will break apart and explode if the water in the pipes freeze. Happened to me. Go for the full brass ones. Thanks for the video!
That’s a great idea to paint the floor. I might do the same with my AS, that would save loads of weight. Right now it has (I kid you not) ceramic tile in the kitchen.
So happy it’s finished. I bet you all are stoked. It came out great. What kind of paint was the spun sugar? What cap/needle set were you using in your sprayer?
Congratulations on finishing, it looks great. I just bought a van that will be built into my home. I'm not doing it myself. I have neither the time or the skill you had to do the Airstream.
Looks great I WOULD still do an audio system in it like a kenwood 2 din size with DVD and TV screen, and 4 6x9" speakers and a second LED type TV screen that works off the Stereo Or better yet a portable Lazer type projector you can aim at the side over a screen. Plop down lawn chairs and watch a dvd outside with. You also have room for a camp stove and other stuff. The projectors a pretty cool idea To show movies outside with. You can also use it in your driveway to watch football games on. The lazer units are pretty bright as long as sunlight don't hit the screen
Awesome work as usual! Definitely using the screw trick for painting. Where did you get that cool mattress? I was hoping for a link, but alas, they must not have sponsored you. Well done! It’s been fun watching you build this. I’m surprised you didn’t create a little extra work rounding off that bathroom/fridge corner to match the rest of the airstream 😏
Love your Airstream. Worth every penny and hour spent. The only thing I would change is the wallpaper. I lived through the 70's and I don't ever want to go back! (Of course, you could put shag carpet on the floor and that would complete the retro decor!) Looking forward to the cabin remodel.
Where’s the shower most vans here have showers and toilet mostly because we tend to do more off grid travel in Australia but beautiful work on the van❤🎉congratulations on it being finished
Beautiful work! But it’s not done until you have a couple of polished aluminum Worthington LP tanks clamped in place. And to finish the look, you need to spend for a couple of braided s/s lp hoses. Expensive but a “need” not a “want”, lol! Just don’t tell your spouse.😅

I hope Jason reports back with UVW and perhaps compares that to "as built" UVW. There are some heavy builds in there. Nice...but heavy.
That’s not necessary with an Airstream. I have a triple axle, 34’ Airstream that weighs 10,000 lbs. An F250 pulls it with ease.
@@GreenWitch1 @earthcandleco It's a curiosity thing. That bathroom door is 1" hardwood. How heavy is that dinette? Jason's build quality is AAA but all that stuff looks way heavier than what would have been original to the unit. Doesn't he drive a F150?

I think one would at least want to know for sure. Especially to make sure one is still within the axle weight rating.
That trick with the screws on the door, that was slick.
Im gonna have to adopt that.
Great job man, i really enjoyed this build series
I love that trick for painting the doors - so simple but really clever!
Amazing build!! I've always loved Airstreams and this has made me 100% sure I NEVER want to renovate one myself!
Slick trick for painting a door! Good job Jason! Enjoy.

YAY!!! The Chrome Twinkie is complete!
It turned out great!
😂 chrome twinkie - great one!
Well done Jason, the airstream is looking fantastic. So will we be seeing more of the house you have bought and taking apart. 😁
An amazing transformation, I hope your wife appreciates all the hard work and dedication you put into it.

What a lovely guy.
Beautiful job. Can’t wait for some pics of you enjoying it with your family.

Shaking her drawers? 😂
Finally finished. Very well done. Enjoy lots of trips in your beautiful Airstream.

I just binge watched the entire build over the last 2 days that was an amazing turn around, really enjoyed it good work
The projects end when you do. Good luck with the projects, and may they continue for a very long time.

Awesome build, and I like the painted floors. Load it up, scale it, balance it and rescale it. You will be worry free on the handling on the road.
Would LOVE a compilation video for this series!
Complication? Maybe just watch them out of order? 😂
Have you watched any of this series? All of it looks like a complication. I’m guessing you are talking about a compilation video?
Hahaha, edited

Jason, your voice over work is really good. It sounds like you were in radio before RUclips. Great Production!! Keep up the good work.
My favorite part are the gold ball sacs. Nice touch.
That looks amazing! Thank you very much for taking us along for the journey.
What a fabulous build, the build quality is to highest extreme. Now go and enjoy with your family Jason!!! I enjoyed the whole thing, cheers..Si..
Love all the built ins! I do think it’d be neat to see you come up with some mid century modern cabinet doors and especially in this classic rv

Great build, loved the series
I greatly appreciate the counter space. Yeah, you really don't need more that 18", but it's nice to have more.
Beautiful! 🎉 I don’t agree you need a shower. Plenty of other options. Nice having a beautiful toilet sink area. 💯
Congratz to the Airstream, Jason. Well done and keep the good work up 👍
Nice job. Lot of work but now you can enjoy it. I’d take it back to Seattle and show it off.
I was JUST about to paint three doors in my house. I gasped at that GENIUS IDEA!
Congratulation, Jason, you’ve done a fantastic job very nice!
That transformed beautifully! Amazing work as always, love the look your wife is a great vision, absoultly perfect.
It came out so very nice. Now go out and make some memories!
Kaleidoscope telescope, tomato tomato. Nice build and video. As always! Come to Han’s Peak and hang out at our ranch.

I've enjoyed living vicariously through you on this build. Well done. Who dented your fridge?
now you have to make a video of your first outing with the family. I know its not woodworking but I want to see that baby in action. :)
Digging the peach graphic on the toilet paper wrapper. The bathroom build is adoorable. Get it?
That airstream, now, looks absolutely amazing!
This was an awesome project. Only wished the camper company you used film their projects on it

Wrong. The wallpaper is amazing.
I'm glad your channel is doing well enough to support this project. Too bad about the cable TV show.
Where’s the shower most vans here have showers and toilet mostly because we tend to do more off grid travel in Australia but beautiful work on the van❤🎉congratulations on it being finished
Great job Jason. Quality effort and hope you get enjoyment out of it.
the picture of the foreman is just the cherry on top of the cake 😍
Beautiful work! But it’s not done until you have a couple of polished aluminum Worthington LP tanks clamped in place. And to finish the look, you need to spend for a couple of braided s/s lp hoses. Expensive but a “need” not a “want”, lol! Just don’t tell your spouse.😅
so happy for you man, it looks so frackin cool! great job!!!
Really awesome to see it completed Jason, well done and super cool! Any chance we could get a link for where you had the custom folder mattress made? Thanks for such great entertainment!
