Tascam should hire you as a consultant and product demo President- the best quality tutorials on youtube , saved me countless hours in the Model 12 learning curve-which imhop is pretty steep but very rewarding Thanks keep helping us !
Thanks. Your comment means a lot. As to TASCAM, not sure they even know or care. My videos are foremost about helping users. Last year, a TASCAM rep contacted me about the firmware update and asked me if I was willing to test the next firmware version with the newly added features I was making videos about, ie. Normalise, Digital Gain, etc. It bricked my M12 and I had to work out how to get into "Service" mode to install the prior working version. While at the same time, they released the official release version the next day :P Ohh, well. LOL!
@@RecordingStudio9 wow !! Maybe how to get into service mode is an on deck video!! Lol hope not! Ie that They have better QC evaluation They’re stuff is usually solid I still have a 424 If they aren’t listening to you - they aren’t as savvy as I thought them to be!!
@@woodreed52 O, they are listening to my ideas and implementing them, like the Main Bus compression on the new Model 2400. And, that's good enough for me :)
@@RecordingStudio9 oh I know It’s prob due to you we have a lot of the update new stuff So -Thank you for everything your videos Really helped me The detail in the one knob should Get a RUclips Oscar!
Love how relevant the model 12 still is! I swapped a focusrite interface for the model 12 and literally have never looked back! This is the best lil standalone unit there is!
Very helpfull..thanks..I bought the model 12,3 years ago..sold it. Did not understand a lot. With this vid it makes me want to buy one again 🎉 regards..
I have watched multiple of your videos as you’ve advised. However, I still can’t seem to find any information on how to simply record the 8 individual channels to DAW with the mix I physically did on the mixer. Also, not sure if I understand correctly, but it sounds like the FX on each channel will not be picked up by DAW as well? Tracks 1-8? I am using the 8 outputs from the MPC into the 8 inputs of this mixer by the way. I just want to pan and EQ on each channel and have the DAW record what I did exactly on the mixer. Channels 1-8 or 9/10
The mixer in it's default mode doesn't work the way you describe. You can't record the mixer's faders and pan control movements in your DAW. The DAW has its own independent software Mixing Console and does not correlate to how you use the mixer. Might want to watch my video ruclips.net/video/qSpn7l-irNg/видео.html It might give you a better idea of how this mixer works.
@@RecordingStudio9 Wow. I was in love with this mixer until this info. I thought it can be used as both. Well you answered my question then lol. I think I will just use the MPC’s mixing and panning functions and simply use the 8 outs on the mixer for track separation when I record into Ableton then. And bypass all the buttons on the mixer. Pretty bummed now but at least I can still multi track
My God man... fix your own vocal audio. That clicking noise ruins the concentration. Did you mixdown your output and did you hear the click noise? Please...

Thanks for this video. Very helpful.
Great video, thanks. Question: Once you perform the first swap, must you delete the dry vocal from tracks 11/12?
No need
