I love the way the song modulates twice adding tension when he resolves that he's made his mind up and willing to risk it all, then we hear the backing vocals from that point on to the end of the song. I personally feel that these are the best backing vocals ever recorded in a song.
Kind of took Bob Seger for granted decades ago. But I have a whole new respect and admiration for this man’s music since my late 40’s and into my 50’s now. Amazing artist.
This has always been my favourite Seger song. Its smooth, beautifully written, and encompasses everything that Seger does to perfection. Some beautiful melodies and lines to get the song started and then the backing vocals with some Seger grit to ride the song out. Just wonderful.
From the 1980 album, " Against the Wind" a great tune that starts out as a slow melodic ballad but gains momentum by the end. The piano and organ provide the passion for this song while Bob's unforgettable vocals adds layers of emotion accompanied by a gospel back up. Phenomenal song, off a classic album. The "B" side of this single was " Betty Lou's Getting 'Out Tonight", one of his best songs, I think. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Brandon. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦
Finished high school in '82. Played this album so much that I was singing the words 1 beat ahead of Bob. Lol. Great driving music or fading off to sleep tunes. I miss those days
Brandon, you have exquisite taste my friend. I love Bob Seger and even had the honor of seeing him live. Great song off an amazing album. Thoughtful input from Harri and we have the recipe for wonderful listening. I wonder how many of you can notice when I have been enjoying some edibles 🤔. Anyway, thanks Brandon and Harri 🌺✌️

Brandon - I am astounded that this Bob Seger gem hasn't been played and reviewed until now. For me, this is one of the very best hits. Bravo Brandon and Harri.
Never a bad song with Bob Seger. This album is one of the few where the album cuts are better. Bob Seger live songs usually blow you away. Please keep doing more Bob

Bob Seger had some excellent backup singers throughout his albums in the seventies and beyond. They made his great songs, just that much better.
Love this song ❤😊
Bob Seger does a great duet with a woman named Martina McBride called "Chances Are". It's from the soundtrack to a movie called "Hope Floats".
