Are the school board members cold and callous? In watching this video several times, it seems that the school board allowed everyone to express their concerns and did so in a respectful manner. Because of the number of people who wanted to address the board, naturally they no doubt wanted those at the podium to make their point so the next person could be heard. Those who wanted to speak had over 90 minutes to voice their concerns. As the position of school trustee pays nothing, those who serve on the board must care about public education and children or they would not have run for the position. The citizens who those who spoke at this meeting have made it abundantly clear that they want the school district’s chief of police fired. But, there is a process for dismissing employees who are under contract and the school district must follow the process. I believe that the school board will do that, once due process has run its course.

"School Administrators" have always been useless. Take bullying for example. They can't even handle that well and oftentimes we see and hear that they punish the bully victim for standing up for themselves and have some sort of excuse of why the bully Is the way they are.

The worst failure in law enforcement history. It’s the only way to explain the epic failure of every police officer that was in the hallway or right outside of that building! Disturbing when I broke those videos down. A police officer is trained from the police academy on an active shooter. Even if you are solo responding to an active shooter, you are to identify where the shooter is located and eliminate the threat. Time is not on anyones side with an active shooter, every second counts and they let 4,200+ seconds tick by without eliminating the threat. I am sad for those children and two teachers. To know some if not a lot of them could have been saved if action took priority to waiting. The suspect can never turn into a “barricaded subject” when injured are in that room that need immediate medical care.
All of this backlash could've been avoided and healing could've begun if authorities, even 1 person, stepped up and said they messed up!! Awful how politics is controlling this entire situation!!

Sad that the bus driver had to come to the school board to ask for training. Why couldn’t she go to her supervisor and be assured that she would get the necessary training? I know in California, we have bus evacuation drills with students periodically and I hope those drills cover all situations. The drivers also have regular trainings in our district, without students present. I hope this district starts listening to ALL stakeholders-a Superintendent who has never been a bus driver can’t understand what all the safety issues are for them, but if you ask your bus drivers they can tell you, etc.

It seems the school board is trying to convey a sense of being attentive to the members of the community, the attendees of the meeting, listening to each person, calmly responding and that they are able to do what they are able to do, when they are able to do something, anything, within the requirements of the process. It will take time. The community seems devoted. Hopefully they find a greater sense of ease and contentment with the final decisions.

Why can't schools be build with securities in place like the airports. All schools have safety rooms in each classrooms like a cellar, to protect the kids. All classroom doors are close and made to stop bullets. How many kids have to die before schools become safer????? It killers are allowed to get guns, they can't hurt or kill people if they are in a safe place. Or at least make it extremely difficult for shooters now. What people don’t understand is i am sure they want to fire him but they have zero just cause because he was following procedure because cops have no duty to protect. Legally speaking he did nothing wrong and as such they cannot just fire him. The supreme court has ruled that cops are within their rights to standby and watch people get murdered. He has a lawyer and is actively fighting his firing from what I suspect. This is what we have sowed by allowing the police so much unregulated power and authority. No one involved in this disaster will be punished. I am certain he will just retire with benefits and a pension.

I can't believe they are actually reopening that elementary school in September. I actually would never let my child go back to that school. It should be torn down. There's innocent blood in those hallways, no matter how any times they clean it, it's a place of death.

I am not against law enforcement at 64 years old I have seen a change in law enforcement for the worst. When a cop or any law person does wrong . There is no place for the people to report them if you try this the report goes nowhere law enforcement has become a cult with the courts too . It seems the school board is trying to convey a sense of being attentive to the members of the community, the attendees of the meeting, listening to each person, calmly responding and that they are able to do what they are able to do, when they are able to do something, anything, within the requirements of the process. It will take time. The community seems devoted. Hopefully they find a greater sense of ease and contentment with the final decisions.

Why can't schools be build with securities in place like the airports. All schools have safety rooms in each classrooms like a cellar, to protect the kids. All classroom doors are close and made to stop bullets.
How many kids have to die before schools become safer????? It killers are allowed to get guns, they can't hurt or kill people if they are in a safe place. Or at least make it extremely difficult for shooters now. It's too easy to just walk in and start shooting. Police officers need to be at the schools. Of course that means officers who will actually do something to help. Lock down schools once bell has run. There is so many thing that can be down but never is, oh lots of meetings year after year. The teacher propping a door open was a myth pushed by officials seeking to cover their azzes. The door had a shitey lock that wouldn't properly engage when the teacher closed the door. I'm curious about why their were shitly locks at that school win the first place when the state gave LE and the district money to prevent that very thing from happening. I feel really bad for the family lost it hurts and for the Texas deputies enforcement didn’t do there job what happened to their training they didn’t do what’s called we are here to serve and protect our community these families deserve a lot. I do not know why this one hurt so much. Why this school shooting was harder on me. Maybe it’s just that the other shooting was so close to it. The other thing just when I thought it could get worse was the betrayal by the police. That stole something from all of us. I understand the evil that walked into the room and murdered those children. I’ve seen it so many times. You don’t expect them to be anything other than evil.
But the police (and so many of them) the police listening to the screams and gun shots while they stood outside the door is a loss of humanity I can’t grasp beyond how could they. It’s a rape of our beliefs. That a child sat there on the floor with their head down on their knees and arms wrapped around them thinking “Are they going to come get us soon?” And “Why wont they help us” and they never came. You never came. They bleed out waiting for you. I knew the police could be cold. I didn’t know they didn’t want to help dying children.

And to those blaming the parents...i hope you never have to go through this with your kids. The only parents you need to blame are the school shooter's not innocents. When you drop your kids off at a school, the onus is on the staff/school board to protect them. If the kids are not protected, it is the school's responsibility.
So if the school was underfunded to where they could not have good security, that's certainly the school boards fault. How can they have the finances to take these vacations but to not make the kids safe? 🤔 They need to reevaluate their budget.
