@HalfLifeSistah I've loved this song and this band for decades. But watching and feeling your reaction to this song made me appreciate it even more. Thank you for sharing. Your absolutely beautiful reaction was my beautiful experience. Amazing..
Very true
It almost made me tear up just seeing her reaction to it. “Silent Lucidity” is one of the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard. Queensryche was one of the first metal bands that used a full orchestra in one of its songs. Their versatility is amazing. They have songs that will punch you in the face. They have songs that make you think. Some of their music makes you happy. Some will leave you pissed off. Others, like this one will make you cry. I believe music should bring an emotional response and I don’t think there’s another band that will bring out every emotion like Queensryche does.
Geoff Tate has one of the greatest voices in History...Queensryche is severely underrated. Incredible musicians
You are so very right. Totally underrated. A true voice in the music world.
Most of the time you hear this song... but man, Operation Mindcrime!!!!
The opera training and his four octave range is AMAZING!!!
Listen to
When the children cry
By white lion so beautiful and the message was ahead of its time.
Most definitely underrated, brother. Keep it metal, my brother.
I don't usually cry with songs, but this one hits hard.

Spot on good sir.
Every. Single. Time. For the last 30 years.
If you watch the video it is even more emotional.
u sop lol
There are some songs that are perfect: Perfectly constructed, perfect vocals, perfect production, and perfectly timeless.
This is one of those songs.
This song makes me think of my first son. He would've been seventeen now. Instead, he is an eternal child.
Been seeing that a lot in this thread, the song certainly evokes those feelings, sorry for your loss ❤
Not this song, but can relate. I have had a VERY hard time hearing Three Little Birds by Bob Marley since '97, Wes was born to it. Can't honestly say it gets any easier, over 20 years later. Stay strong for the survivors.
@@WolfKain Been reading through the thread - you were not kidding. Just wow.
@@datwongai3903 ♥️✊🤘
My wife and I lost two before our Caleb was born. It never stops hurting, but rejoice in the ones we have
Im 76, I cry when I hear this song. Cant help it
One of the most iconic songs... Geoff... forever
This is one of the best songs written by anyone in any genre
NO doubt about it!!!
Yup!
Girl... Your reaction is priceless. You felt it from your heart. And the Song is a Masterpiece. Geoff is the Best. Great Queensryche 👏👏👏👏👏👏
I used to play and sing this song for my daughter. She loved it. Now she's a teenager and is all mouthy and wants to fall asleep watching RUclips. I miss those younger days. lol
Lol....man , I 100% relate. I have 3 teen girls, I'm just waiting this period out
She will find her way back to it. I played to to my girls when they were kids ... my daughters are 23 and 26 now, this song is on their playlist for occasions where music matters. This song ... and Dream Theatres "The Answer lies within".
I love this song. I play it every year on the anniversary of my brother's death. When I heard this song was a month or so later it instantly made me think of my brother. This Nov 18th will be 29 years since his death.
That's moving and I can relate. You move on but you never truly get over it ❤
I completely relate..the sound that does it for me is Blackbird by Alterbridge. If you do not know it...its very beautiful and moving
Not going to go too deeply into it, but 11/18 is a black letter day for me too - but in a nutshell, loved ones and their death. Will be with you in spirit in about a month and a half.
@@michaeldinsen7641 Also Albridge

Alter-bridge did in loving memory. One of the band members lost his mother.
Every time I hear this song...I think of my Dad comforting me from the other side when I was a 7 year old child after he lost his battle with cancer.
I'm now 51 and I still miss him every day 💔💔💔
Those of us who are affected by music in this way are a special group; not everyone has this emotional hook. It keeps us sane.
I am from Australia and only heard this for the first time recently and my reaction was the same as yours. Why had I never heard this masterpiece before? I have always been so into music yet had never heard of this band. It is stunning!!
It's crazy how sometimes you find a song that's been around for years, yet you've never heard it but it happens to be EXACTLY to your personal tastes. It's like finding gold.
@@karldammann I just could not believe the sound reaching my brain. I adore Pink Floyd, and it reminded me of them but different, in a great way. I just wish that I had known of this years ago but am so glad I listened to it and know it now. Best wishes to you.
@@karenglenn6707 Same to you Karen, hope you find more of these songs :)
I love your reaction. I have always loved that song. But it meant alot more to me starting on June 22, 1995. That CD and that track just happened to be in my car player when I was racing to the hospital, tears streaming down my face, as my first child was being born into the beyond. All these years later, anytime I hear that song, it brings me right back to that moment in time, probably the saddest in my life. And a still cry like a baby. I love that song so much. "You're safe from pain in the dream domain, a soul set free to fly." I love you and will always remember you, Robert Darnell ❤❤❤
That must have been awful, wow, so sorry to hear that 😔❤
I had a friend that absolutely loved this song, and I grew to love it myself. My friend would always say think of me when you hear this song. It never registered with me the context, until, because of a terminal illness, which had been concealed from me, the symptoms became too obvious to deny. I was soo angry that it was kept from me, but there was nothing I, or any doctor for that matter could do. My friend passed not long after, I was crushed, forgetting about this song completely, just going through the motions of life, on the verge of emotional breakdown, riding to our favorite places, just to relive every moment I could. Our favorite spot was at a beautiful state park, headed over this song happened to come on the radio just as I was pulling up, my eyes may as well have been waterfalls, my skin tingling with 'goosebumps' all over, and a calm came over me. I thought I could literally feel the presence of my friend sitting right next to me! I understand the request my friend made, 'think of me when you hear this song', in the most intimate of ways now. I know you are watching over me, I love you as much as I miss you, and the day we see each other again will eventually come, I know this as much as any truth. RIP AAB du_ub
This song means the world to me. I played this at my fathers funeral. I am comforted by the idea of him watching over me, protecting me.
In everyone of these reaction videos, you can literally watch the song taking over their soul.
There was reason for this song shooting straight to the top. Chris DeGarmo out-did himself when he wrote this. I've always hated the fact that he left the band although as a parent, I now understand his need to do so.
In addition, this is a song you can listen to when you've lost a loved one and the hard grieving is done and you've accepted that they are still with you. You can hear and feel the beauty of the after life spilling out of this song and into you. Death is not the end it is simply a different beginning of a new existence.
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful song. Makes me cry too. It has such a full, rich sound with the orchestral strings and deep, interesting lyrics. Top it off with Geoff's immaculate voice and you have a masterpiece!
I seriously "hear" my grandfather to a degree/and my ancestors before me, that they are here with me. ♥️♥️♥️ Telling me I know you're scared, but we are here. You will be fine. We're here for you. We want you to know...we're here for you. Your mom is here as well. 😞😓
Girl! I have the same reaction when I hear "Silent Lucidity"!
Just beautiful, deep, soul lifting.
I watched this again tonight almost a year later and I am still blown away by your beauty and the reaction you have. It is so genuine. Thank You So Much For Sharing.
Thank you so much 🤗♥
this song is a gift that Gods (Queensryche) have given to mankind
Always brings tears to my eyes...such a masterpiece!
gets me ecery time,my first daughter was stillborn, sang this to her as best i could,i kmow ill see her again
Sorry to hear that ❤
Michael, my heart goes out to you, my dear chap.
So sorry Mike. Yes, you will see her again. God Bless!🙏💯
So sorry for your loss.
@@maximolopezjr2249 thamk you all..MLH & respect...❤
Incredibly powerful song! Very happy you get. Your reaction says it all.
This is the song that made me actually pay attention to Queensryche back in '90 or so. I had heard them, a friend was a big fan through the 80s, but never actually payed attention until I heard this song. And since then I've been a fan of the Tate/DeGarmo Queensryche. They were a force in music, and they never pulled any punches.
I suggest the studio version of "Speak", from Operation Mindcrime. It's at the other end of Queensryche's style; "Silent Lucidity" is a soft and introspective ballad. "Speak" is a hard-hitting rant against injustice and abuse of power and doesn't associate itself with any particular party or affiliation.
Ditto.... in fact my 16th birthday cake had the Queensryche logo on it. Second best B-day cake I've had. Number one was when I was about 9, mom made a Pac-Man cake with gumdrops as the ghosts , red hots for power pellets, red string licorice for the board - Twas awesome.
@@datwongai3903 Very cool birthday cakes you had.
This song has always made me tear up. The feelings, thoughts and emotions are hard to control. Thanks for sharing and for your reaction
Such a beautiful song
This song is a warm blanket wrapped around you whilst sitting by the fire.
This is a beautiful video. A beautiful woman connecting with a beautiful song and letting her emotions truly show. Thank You for sharing with all of us. WOW
Thank you so much!♥
I don’t care how tough you are, that is everyone’s reaction to this song
This song was huge when I was in high school. At dances everyone got real close when this came on. Queensryche must have all looked at each other in the studio and KNEW they had a winner. And it was. Your reaction is why we get into bands and play our hearts out. Damn Covid. All the best from Canada.
I did miss this!!!! I love how you actually get into the music you don't just hear it you feel it.
I'm a native American pow wow dancer and the drum is the heartbeat of our people. I would love to see you and some of your dance friends do an interpretation of this beautiful song.
This song always reminds me of my mom who passed away in April this year!
❤️
My prayers are heading your way for you and your mom. May God bless all your family 🙏
I love watching people’s reactions to some of my favorite songs. This is by far my favorite reaction to Silent Lucidity. Love your passion for music. You have a good heart and a pure soul. Thank you!
NOW THAT WAS A VERY HEAVY REACTION, SO MUCH SO, YOU HAD MY CRYING TOO. THANK YOU TOO. X0
one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite singers. I have had lucid dreams before and they are awesome.
I've listened to this song thousands of times over the last 20+ years and it still often makes me cry
Geoff Tate comes to Jergel's in Wexford PA nearly a couple times a year. The wife and I have seen him 4 times now, going to be 5 next month, and he sounds great still to this day.
Wow you must really enjoy your work I've never seen anyone get so emotional over a song I love the way you show your feelings. Thank you for being you.
I'm glad you enjoyed watching and thank you :) ♥
I loved your truly genuine reaction! This song still brings tears to my eyes as well!!
In 1990 when the first time I listen to this song I crying and it still the same today when I listen to this song.
Been listening to these guys since they became a band. Loved your reaction. It's hard not to be moved to tears by something so amazing, and in their heyday, Queensryche was amazing. As a professional musician myself, I find it hard to not become so emotional when listening to a masterpiece such as this song is. You got a new sub out of that reaction. Thank you.
Queensryche was my favorite band from 84-95, Geoff has a phenomenal voice and knows how to sing :-)
He has the most AMAZING voices of ALL time.
That voice gets me every time! So powerful and beautiful. 💓
Words are not sufficient to express the emotional reaction this song elicits. Beautiful.
I LOVE watching her face enjoying such a great song. Makes me happy.
This is one of the first albums I ever purchased and I'll never forget listening to it on my CD Walkman at night out on a balcony overlooking the beach while on vacation. Easily the most moving, memorable music experience of my life. Unforgettable.
What was great i saw them back in the 90's
And every song that had a video on MTV
They played on a huge movie screen in the background
A lovely riff! I had never heard that song, thanks for introducing me to it! :oD
I was 20YO in '82. Absolutely the best of times for music.
Monster Ballads forever.
so glad to see your reaction to this. one of the most beautiful songs ever. this is how i feel too. this is my song for my daughters and sons (whom all have 4 legs) when they cross The Rainbow Bridge, cos this is how i feel about them [el'sda2].
Aw my love, so glad you felt some magic. Queensryche is definitely something special ❤️❤️
It really is! ♥
This is the first song of theirs I had heard, a mate was playing it in his car. I haven't much heard of them before. There is another of theirs that is really good too, it's called Bridge. The vocals are great and it's about a father-son relationship that has fallen apart. Give it a listen. Good reaction, music can make you feel so much.
Beautiful reaction to a beautiful song, subbed. I listened to Queensryche when this came out, I was 15 and it has certainly taken on more meaning after having children. Can you pass a tissue please?
Love The Warriors as well, Can You Dig it?!
such a beautiful song. it stuck w/ me since the video appeared on mtv all those years ago when i was still a kid :) i held my moms big radio/tape player to the tv speakers & recorded this & a bunch of other songs off MTV so i could have them all on tape lol, i rememer Warrants "uncle toms cabin" was on it too that songs amazing as well wow such a good memory....
Quite moving deliberate and beautiful, both musical piece and gracious hostess.
Awesome kick ass song Love this jam. Thank you for sharing.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
I had the pleasure of seeing these guys a couple of times I'm glad to see you enjoyed the song.
Such a magnificent song. Hands down Queensryche is my favorite metal band of all time.
I have always loved this song. Being a super nerd I have always pictured, in my head, Morpheus from the Sandman comic by Neil Gaiman singing this song.
Such a beautiful, uplifting reaction. Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful reaction my friend!
His voice is absolutely amazing and phenomenal. My son Sean loves you and your husband for keeping it metal, regardless of the genre of metal.
This song gets me in tears all the time. My brother Abrahams fave song. He passed in an accident. He passed in 1995 was 24. Geoff Tate has a god given voice.
your reaction made me cry along. thank you. :-)
I loved your beautiful reaction to this amazing song. It mirrors mine exactly.
1)Queensryche has been my favorite band for 30 years. I, too was introduced with Silent Lucidity
2)I STRONGLY recommend this specific song: 'Right Side Of My Mind'--the in concert version from dvd entitled "Live: Evolution" from 2001
3)You're Pretty
Its not suppose to be a sad song but it so pulls upon your heart strings, Right. I'm there with you. A Joy mixed with hopeful plaintive sorrow. Realizing that some one you lost in life truly is with you in your dreams and is flying with you.
thank you , you show what i feel...
Masterpiece...a little bit of Floyd influences. Incredible amazing sounds
I love seeing her emotions, I share emotions with you. We experience this together friend, even this is not new to me, this song. It's like hearing it for the first time seeing you react.
makes me cry.. I miss my family..
One of great relationship songs of the 90d
Watching you drowning in this amazing song, it made this all the more emotional. God, this is such a beautiful, haunting, and powerful song.
You should listen to The Maze, by Manchester Orchestra. The first half of the song is written from the perspective of his newborn daughter, Mazie, looking up at him. The second, written from his perspective as her dad, looking down upon her.
Channels like yours are why I love RUclips so much.
Geoffrey Tate is also classical trained. This song never ever gets old....just beautiful
Ahh, what a masterpiece! Every time!
Great reaction to one of the greats!! If you go back to the outro, the baby lullaby is being played by string section. Not to age me but it was so cool to find that in early listening stage 90s.
This breaks your heart, plain and simple simply because it's from a fathers love for his child. Something every person craves and whether or not they got it, seeing an example of it written and performed by a musical genius will crawl inside you and awaken that within you.
It's different entirely to say for example the emotional reaction you get from listening to "Hurt" by Johnny Cash, again that's a very personal emotional roller coaster, but it speaks to the realisation and fear we all have about getting older, losing the people we love along the way and the wisdom to know that all things end and the material things in life are meaningless compared to the connections we forge with other people.
I've come to understand that the music I enjoy is written by people that figure out how to speak to everyone about things that matter to us all. It's music that crosses all human boundries/differences/cultures.
Rammstein's Deutshland is an example of this with regards to the history of germany and how many German people feel the conflict between wanting to have national pride while wrestling with recent history... and yet Germany has a rich past prior to the horrors of World War II of which they should be proud of, but many cannot get past what happened during the war. If you look through the translated lyrics you'll better understand what I mean.
A lot of modern music is trash, it follows a formula to make money and nothing else. There are plenty of absolute gems out there if you're prepared to look and follow genres you wouldn't normally follow.
Mastodon's Emperor of Sand album is another recommendation. Also the band Opeth is outright amazing, particularly their more recent albums (their older stuff is a lot heavier but is still amazing).
I Love this song, all time favorite band, but I have to say.. I love the intro! The Warriors is a Classic!!!
Incredible. Beyond words.
I was very emotional watching your reaction and thought how fool I am sometimes for not showing my emotions. Thank you for touching me so deeply and feeling more human.
Greatest Song Ever Recorded
A love song to his child.

Is the best reaction for this song I have seen. And i love it
Yes, thiis song is to die for... love it!
OMG Marilyn, it's so amazing watching you react to this song. You still have the most magical presence. I had no idea you were doing this now. Can't wait to see more of your videos. Much love, mendi
Im happy you experienced that song... I think we all feel in the same way. Greetings from Perú
