When she was 6 years old and in school she was given the terrible news of her sisters death and the song reflected on how she was coping with it as a child. The emotional roller coaster of the singing, the sound, the instruments and the meaning of the song, especially coupled with the video once it was released was just TOO MUCH! I’ve always loved her so so much since I was a teen, always drawn to the feeling in each song as they weren’t just words. The musical and influential direction the band had turned to these days; I’m sad to say I’m not a fan of. From the demos, Origin to The Open Door was just another level! Lost in Paradise and The Last Song I’m Wasting On You are the last of that era of the emotion within the music, to me. Hope she gets back to her roots!
