As a catechist, I feel a strong sense of calling to help the youth and the far away to know and love Jesus in the Eucharist and receive Him frequently in a state of grace. God transformed me 17 years ago from a life of promiscuity and I pivoted from that lifestyle completely with God’s grace. Nothing is impossible for God. You're awesome, I so glad this happened to you. I'm afraid. I want to be a catechist/theologian type, fully-rooted in the faith, but I've never felt accepted by the Church. I've now met a grand total of two priests who helped me a lot, I really 'get' the faith, but I've met a lot of people I have not been able to connect with; we don't give one another a chance. I have my feet firmly set in the secular world but my heart and soul on a yearning for active religious life. I have a secular girlfriend now, strong secular friends, and so I'm torn from even being able to practice because my friends can only hang out on weekends, and so can she. I feel like God and the Church are not extending an arm or any reassurance to pull me back. If I just meet 'crusaderbros', Republican MAGA types who act like brutish bubbas, and the only young women around are (discerning) nuns or very few who are not this, I cannot grow in the Church, I feel. The priest (God love him) is protected by these old people (gatekeepers) who run the church office and refuse to give his phone number out or let him do anything without their approval. It's not the Newman Center anymore where the priest gives out his number and is available for you on a dime, or even much at all. You know the Church, what should I do? I'm losing it now, I'm becoming a full member of the secular world and not able to meet God anymore. The confession lines are long and filled with guys more OCD/autistic than I AM, so even if practicing, I probably wouldn't be able to receive, especially if I now have a girlfriend and mortal sin is unavoidable in one's life. I wish I was accepted by Catholics and not treated like nothing; if I were met by others and helped out, had actual friends, I'd not stray too far, I believe. Then again, I am more Orthodox in my spirituality; I do not like rosaries or certain devotions. Maybe I should change to Eastern Catholic or outright Eastern Orthodox?

We also have so much resources online today like Theology of the Body bybDr. Christopher West and All Things Catholics Podcast by Dr. Edward Sri to form our conscience to not only become Catholic but become saints.
@@Awakeningspirit20Hello brother, many of the struggles you are experiencing in the faith are normal and understandable. Let me tell you about myself if you wouldn’t mind. I was born into the Catholic faith(like my father) and received my sacraments. I was confirmed at the age of 13. At age 14 I was attending a Methodist church(like my mother). My mother and father were never married and separated when I was young . At 15 I self identified as non denominational though attended the Methodist church and was confirmed there. I became an Atheist in secret by the age of 16, and still participated in church functions and ministry. I rapidly fell into Rage and Lust mostly. I hurt myself and other people through my actions. At age 20 I wanted to restore my faith but couldn’t see its truth and would fall back into sin. When I turned 21 I fully committed myself to God in fullness. I approached it from the notion that if I dedicated myself to starving the cycles of sin within me that the knowledge would follow. Where I found God was crying myself to sleep for years and feeling like I was dying inside. I yearned for meaning and realized my want for God was actually a need. My life had to fall apart before I could appreciate God. I have since chosen to return to the Catholic faith. The Orthodox Church was a considerable option. I have never felt stronger in my faith as a Christian. Though the Catholic Church isn’t perfect I do believe it is both good and fortified with tradition. My belief is that if you honor the Trinity that is God and live by God’s word then that is what matters. I personally returned to being Catholic because I see it as the most straightforward way to honor that.
I'm glad you have, but that was your own journey with God. In fact, we all have our own paths with God. Even people who have abortions. That is theirs and only theirs. Not mine, not the churches, on them with God. Did God not save a murderer right before he died. God is all-knowing. He knew Judas had one job; to betray him. That was his journey. We have to stop getting into people's journeys. This priest forgot one thing. Jesus only command Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to another. -John 13:33-35 Jesus commands divine love for one another that is modeled on his own acts of charity, which Trump lacks in his immigration policy. Jesus does not talk about abortions, and his words supersede any other Old Testament verse. It's part of the New Covent. We should strive to be better Christians. Jesus didn't come here for the pure, he came to save. Jesus would have scolded this man. with Luke 37 “Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; 38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.” 39 He also told them a parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? 40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. 41 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.

If that’s all it takes it is immensely easy to coerce Catholics to support a candidate with immoral positions. In a race with one pro-life candidate the Catholic vote would be ensured. In America this issue is unsolvable in the long-term. No election will get rid of this issue, we are too divided on this topic. It will come back the next election and the next and the next. The Catholic vote will be chained to this one issue indefinitely. Any other issues we could work towards solving and making our lives and our neighbors’ lives better are voided. It’s much better in the long term for us, the country, and our conscience to not support candidates that violate our beliefs. If they want our vote, they have to put their morally best candidates forward. It’s disheartening to hear that an adulterer who combined a political document with the Bible and sold it was the most morally aligned with Catholics. I frequently read through Matthew to remind myself of the higher standards I’m supposed to live by, and then I watch his rallies unedited and I can’t help but notice it’s just always the opposite of what I read.

So is the death penalty. Also trump is less aligned with climate initiatives which in Laudato si' Pope Francis outlined how that goes hand and hand with the churches mission and catholic values. Neither candidate alligns 100% with Catholic teachings and beliefs.
Abortion is the worse form of murder. Closing the borders doesn’t not necessarily kill immigrants though it’s not very good. Trump doesn’t want to kill immigrants. Not welcoming immigrants doesn’t equate murdering them.
I'm just going to say it. The Holy Father is wrong on this observation. Removing illegals is not the same as killing babies. at all. And a bit hypocritical given this: Immigration Principles The Vatican City’s immigration policy is guided by Catholic teaching, emphasizing the importance of regulating immigration in the interest of the common good. The city-state upholds the principle of preventing illegal immigration and combating exploitation, as reflected in Pope John Paul II’s statements on the matter. In conclusion Vatican City’s immigration policy is characterized by strict limits on residency and citizenship, with only a few select categories of individuals eligible for entry. The city-state’s unique status as a sovereign entity within Rome, Italy, influences its visa policy, which is largely governed by Schengen Area regulations. The Vatican City’s immigration principles are rooted in Catholic teaching, prioritizing the common good and preventing illegal immigration.
Agreed. I don't always like Trump's delivery, but sending ILLEGAL immigrants (not just any migrants) back to the country they came from is not anti-life. With all due respect for the Pope, there are people who have died at the hands of some of these undocumented immigrants with prior criminal records in their home countries. It is very pro-life to protect American citizens from these issues. Not to mention, we can help our own homeless and veterans when we aren't allowing so many illegal immigrants to live her off of taxpayer dollars.
Maybe the pope is referring to the republican and trumps support of the death penalty and not immigration. I find it difficult to disrespect the pope given Catholic teachings of him being infallible. I think Americans begin to view the pope as elected official with people saying he’s got to go. Excuse me disrespectful. You don’t have that authority. Show some respect to the Catholic catechism please.
I will hold my highest respect for Pope Francis. He's the successor of St. Peter. And in this election there were 2 evils ..and not any of us can deny that. Not all migrants who go to the USA are bad! That's what the Pope imeans.... many of them arrive from extreme poverty / hardships and see the USA as their only hope.... The fact that they are willing to undertake a long and perilous journey is testimony to that. Needless to say, unscrupulous individuals will also use the same means to gain illegal access to your country..... and those migrants who do commit violence will get a lot of hype from the media. I am Catholic. I have thought long and hard concerning this. And when I look to my Pope I see a wall...all around the Vatican. You can visit but you can't spend the night there uninvited. Maybe not even spend the night there.....I hear about who all lives in the Vatican. I think about how my Pope helps others, out of the Vatican. America is without a doubt the most generous country in the world. I am voting Trump. When it comes to immigration, I looked to my Pope and he aligns perfectly with Donald Trump. Abortion is something else. But again, Trump is closer to my beliefs. No not perfect, but closer than Harris.

@1:18 - 1:48: I ask any Catholic who is like minded to Fr. Thomas Petri to provide answers to these questions... 1) What specific deed or collection of deeds provides the proportionate reasons to justify support for or even tolerating the policies of a pro-abortion candidate? 2) What good is inherently within a person that outweighs that person's behavior of voting for candidates that have made possible the killing of the reported 60,000,000 babies executed in the womb since the unjust Roe v. Wade opinion became law?
Arizona just passed Proposition 139 which creates a constitutional right to abortion up to the time of birth, as I understand it. It was brought up in one Holy Mass if I recall, and not during the homily but a quick mention at the end before the final blessing. Other than that, why aren't the priests and bishops more vocal on this abortion "Child Sacrifice" issue? What are they afraid of?
We had great Popes who were solidly Catholic. But, people embraced ideologies like Modernism, Americanism and Liberalism among a long list other isms and continue to not listen to their solidly Catholic advice. So now we have a Pope who plays to all the ideologies the world has embraced. Feels like divine punishment.

I turned this on just to see, and my jaw dropped when I heard that man say it was justified to vote for a pro abortion candidate. Mother Angelica never would have stood for that kind of misrepresentation of our Churches teachings.
I think you may have misunderstood what he is saying. What he meant is that you may vote for a pro-abortion candidate *despite* them being pro-abortion, but not because of it.
That isn’t quite what he said. Other than not voting, the options open were between two bad candidates. Whilst the Pope said “lesser of two evils” (which I do not think is a good way to look at this) this person turns it around and says that you should vote for the better candidate. None of the candidates are good choices according to him. There may be other considerations too. But it seems to me that trump, whilst he is apparently against abortion still supports IVF. As a person from the UK I have no say in this matter - however, it seems that the choice was for one candidate that could significantly reduce the number of babies killed and one which supports abortion for any reasons without restrictions. I do not like the abortion being equated to immigration. They are different things. There are different ways to support people in their own countries, and ultimately taking in immigrants doesn’t solve the problems they face at home either. Having an immigration policy which aims to help people who need asylum and solid international policies which support America first and other nations is important too.

In England the only thing that normally comes from the pulpit is "love the Lord your God... and love your neighbour". With the State that we have, real morals can very often be dangerous.
Regardless of religion. Jesus calls us to FOLLOW HIM. Had He said to FOLLOW his religion, I would have to ask which one. Living the life of Jesus is much harder than any religion on earth.
I am pro-life but, I am also pro-democracy and pro-women. It is abhorrent to me that women are dying in childbirth because doctor's hands have been tied by the overturning of R v W. I don't have a vote, and Pope Francis has a political role as well as a spiritual one if countries are going to listen to his counsel (not convinced they do).
Francis doesn't like me as an American Catholic who isn't Lib and Woke. Francis prefers abortion to national borders. Yet, his city has a BIG, BEAUTIFUL WALL. Let me know when the Vatican throws up an abortion clinic.
It’s all really very simple. If you are against abortion, then don’t have one. It’s really not the president who decides. Does anyone know what the Supreme Court does?
The problem nowadays is that it's being taught in schools and in commercials for young kids as something normal and acceptable,as well as some other warped ideas. Don't see how that makes it ok to act like a narcissistic liar running for pres is the next savior, though
What people fail to see, and the Holy Father has every right to be an advocate for pro-life, but did God in the Garden not give the option for Adam and Eve to have free will? And did they not choose what they wanted and-as a result-suffer the consequences? Remember, our goal as humans is not to control others, but to let each individual make their own decisions. Abortion should not condoned, but it shouldn’t be the reason that you vote for an individual. People will leave the country to get an abortion or go to a state that permits it even if the federal government does not. Did gays not come to California during the 00’s to get married, even though it was illegal throughout the country ? Thomas Jefferson, a founding father, preached a “wall of separation between Church & State” should be kept in THIS country. Many voters have that twisted.

I do not believe removing illegal immigrants from a country is a moral flaw at all. It is the duty of a country to protect its boarders or it is not a country at all.
Did this woman just say that not going to church is a mortal sin? I guess she forgot to Matthew 6 Prayer 5 “And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full. 6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. 7 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
Please stop cutting the Holy Father. He said the same thing that Pope Benedict. That's right, dump on the laity. Jesus is Lord. The Right to Life is from conception throughout life and to natural death as Pope St. John Paul II said. It all matters as Pope Francis said.
Well if one chooses on the merits of good the evil might be overlooked and Vote for the worst possible candidate so the Holy Father is absolutely correct we must distinguish the lesser of two evils according to the Commandments of God.
Such a clear teaching … so much wisdom. If you would like a clearer teaching from the church, ask a child in catholic grade school … they , more than likely, would be able to explain how anti-abortion is paramount in choosing a leader. It’s a shame that the pope can’t teach at a grade school level.
Would the pope also let illegal immigrants share the Vatican private place and wealth without limiting the number? You can’t compare abortion and making respect your country territory by limiting their number! .It’s not safe, nor good for those who comes without a minimum of preparation to live in a new country and culture. Moreover, a house must have limits for protection and even Jesus has given laws like limits the to protect the Church. Please pope Francis for God’s Love, do your best in your Church in crisis, not doing politics.
Why do you insist Bergolio is pope? He isn’t, and most Catholics see his heresies and are waiting for the remaining faithful prelate to protect our church and get this man and his promiscuous cardinals out of the Vatican before terrible things happen to humanity as our Blessed Mother warned us about in La Salete, Fatima, Akita
It's hard to define the Holy Fathers mind. Why are they still defending this pontificate? The Catholic Church is hemorrhaging people, because of his anti catholic confusion
People can not let man drive them from the Church. You don't go to Mass for Man, but for The Holy Trinity. Man is a sinner. You can not let a sinner win. Some leaders in the Church place their political ideologies ahead of their spirituality.
The Church is growing. France especially. We more conservative clergy now. Martin Luther started a movement with complaints on a church’s door. This led to his movement slandering the Church, which it does to this day. Does this at all sound familiar to you? Are you sure Pope Francis defenders are wrong and you are not falling for slander?
As a Roman Catholic, I suggest that Francis (not a pope, acc to me), should have a few hundred refugees camp outside his personal residence (if not in it). After this alone, could his opinion on the matter hold any weight whatsoever.
Pope Francis’s life in Argentina demonstrates perfectly an understanding of what it is like to be a refugee. Try reading his bio. He is one of the greatest Popes ever. While you are reading his bio try reading Laudato Si, his wonderful encyclical on our common home. God bless Pope Francis God bless the jesuits
If u reject the current pontiff, then u are a sedevacantist. Holy Father provided his opinion on the subject after being asked. Respect him, though you might disagree as personal opinion of a pope is not from the magisterial teaching of the Holy Apostolic Catholic Church.
Catholics who are not in communion with the Holy Father are deemed automatic excommunication. If you disagree with him, that's fine, but don't assume that we get to select who our Pope will be. The Holy Spirit does.
Pope Francis has refused to live in the papal apartments and lives in a guest house instead. His bedroom only has basic necessities. He may be confusing, but lives a genuine, humble, loving life.
I wonder what the Holy Father would say if he knew that large numbers of those "migrants" die of thirst, heat exhaustion or hypothermia, and a huge percentage of women and children are sexually assaulted during their "migration," and that this "migration" is a front for human trafficking. Which is anti-life: discouraging this kind of suffering, or inviting it? I'd like Pope Francis to see the Border Patrol footage of the officer who came across a young boy, no more than 8 or 9 years old, who was alone in the desert, miles from anywhere. The child told the officer that he couldn't keep up with the caravan so they left him. That child was lucky. How many children's bones are scattered in the desert?
As a Roman Catholic, the Catholic Church should keep it opinions out of politics! This is not the 19th Century! We will vote for who we want! We have our own minds!
Catholics, GO TO MASS! We Catholics MUST be with Jesus at Mass as He humbly obeys The Will of his Father. Be with him as He gives His life for our lives, dies so we don't have to die. Pray a prayer of thanksgiving to Him that He paid for our sins and opened the gates of Heaven for us. We MUST be with Him as He will be with us. Catholics, GO TO MASS!
I studied theology in Vatican university. The professors in moral theology’ always told us to choose the lesser evil. In this case: it’s trump. This priest should proclaim this. Another priest unable to guide. So sad
On Abortion, Transgender and Euthanasia, true practicing Catholics, we have to pray for both Trump and JD Vance for full conversation to totally PROLIFE. For illegal immigration we have to pray for those who want to cross over illegally, to go via the legal channels to be US citizens. Pope Francis is not ruling out the legal processes, but he reminds world leaders to love their own people by stopping wars and the humanity livelihoods of people to eliminate illegal asylum seeking.

The gaslighting is over.
The church terrestrial is fallen.
The Celestial Church endures.
@@Awakeningspirit20 Recommend you listen to some of the renowned theologians that have been converted to Catholic faith- Scott Hahn, Taylor Marshall.
Jesus only command
Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you. 34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. 35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples if ye have love one to another. -John 13:33-35
Jesus commands divine love for one another that is modeled on his own acts of charity, which Trump lacks in his immigration policy.
For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”
39 He also told them a parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? 40 A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone when he is fully trained will be like his teacher. 41 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 42 How can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, let me take out the speck that is in your eye,’ when you yourself do not see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the speck that is in your brother's eye.
God bless America

California lady here, and I voted for Trump as well.
Abortion is a hell no to Catholics period. End of story Voting republican is more aligned for us.
@@Exisist5151 Despite his imperfections, you cannot just assume that the other side is the better option either. So is the death penalty. Also trump is less aligned with climate initiatives which in Laudato si' Pope Francis outlined how that goes hand and hand with the churches mission and catholic values. Neither candidate alligns 100% with Catholic teachings and beliefs.
Climate change - what a joke. The core of the gospel is repent of your sins and believe in the gospel. Not cut your co2 emissions.
Abortion is the worse form of murder. Closing the borders doesn’t not necessarily kill immigrants though it’s not very good. Trump doesn’t want to kill immigrants. Not welcoming immigrants doesn’t equate murdering them.

Immigration and abortion are two very different things
He never called Biden anti life
I'm just going to say it. The Holy Father is wrong on this observation. Removing illegals is not the same as killing babies. at all. And a bit hypocritical given this:
Immigration Principles
The Vatican City’s immigration policy is guided by Catholic teaching, emphasizing the importance of regulating immigration in the interest of the common good. The city-state upholds the principle of preventing illegal immigration and combating exploitation, as reflected in Pope John Paul II’s statements on the matter.
In conclusion
Vatican City’s immigration policy is characterized by strict limits on residency and citizenship, with only a few select categories of individuals eligible for entry.
But, I truly believe Our Lord is preparing us for the worse to come in this world. Devision and hate is beyond.
God is Lord and King and His Will for us is already being revealed. God Bless us and God Bless the world 🙏🕊🙏

ANd that can distort people's sense of reality...

The Catechism of the Catholic Church states that respect for life isn't just about abortion and euthanasia- it encompasses gun laws, war, and immigration.
@@jenlovesjesus exactly! I think we need to reopen our bibles and contemplate over teachings that speak to welcoming the stranger (immigration). The Pope's comments continue to make me feel that he is more supportive of leftism and socialism then of conservative values.
I believe he is on liberal side and he confuses the faithful so many times, which is not good. We should't blindly accept everything he says is true. He seems to support gay marriage, which is unthinkable and it is not love like Jesus taught us.
This pontiff has always been fond of liberation theology, which was soundly condemned by Pope St. John Paul II.

Odd - I am unaware of how many migrants the Pope has invited into Vatican City. It is a small place, but should hold 10,000 people.
May this election victory bring our Pope and magistirium back to the center. 🙏
We had great Popes who were solidly Catholic. But, people embraced ideologies like Modernism, Americanism and Liberalism among a long list other isms and continue to not listen to their solidly Catholic advice. Mother Angelica would be so sad to see what EWTN has become. We stopped watching it awhile ago.
And that too having a !ati-na as being the anchor is another abomination.

That is false.

Well then how do you define evil? Nothing but more giberjaber fueled by ego. Deliverance is needed

It's hard to define the Holy Fathers mind. Why are they still defending this pontificate? The Catholic Church is hemorrhaging people, because of his anti catholic confusion
True
People can not let man drive them from the Church. You don't go to Mass for Man, but for The Holy Trinity. Man is a sinner. You can not let a sinner win. Some leaders in the Church place their political ideologies ahead of their spirituality.
The Church is growing. France especially. We more conservative clergy now.
Martin Luther started a movement with complaints on a church’s door. This led to his movement slandering the Church, which it does to this day.
Does this at all sound familiar to you? Are you sure Pope Francis defenders are wrong and you are not falling for slander?
I realized Pope Francis is slandered by how Trump is slandered. It’s Pope Francis Derangement Syndrome.
Nobody cares what he thinks. Once I realized what he was I just routinely dismiss him.
As a Roman Catholic, I suggest that Francis (not a pope, acc to me), should have a few hundred refugees camp outside his personal residence (if not in it). After this alone, could his opinion on the matter hold any weight whatsoever.
He is in error, according to the claims he made.
You probably didn't vote for a prolife candidate from your comment. Just a guess...
@@JoAnnFuir No, I voted Trump, for the obvious reasons. Thank you
¿Cuándo escogió Cristo ningún tipo de "opción prudente"? ¿Nunca o nunca?
It's an opinion, that's all.... Make a mess seems to be the motto of this papacy....
We need guidelines like these
We have guidelines in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. What Francis said goes against what the Catechism teaches.
Trump 2024!!!
I studied theology in Vatican university. The professors in moral theology’ always told us to choose the lesser evil. In this case: it’s trump. This priest should proclaim this. Another priest unable to guide. So sad
Instead of blaming the candidates on the abortion issue. Candidates can't win if there isn't 100 percent pro or con .
We are the only country with opened borders. So that means that all other countries are against immigrants?
Woke Pope 🙄
On Abortion, Transgender and Euthanasia, true practicing Catholics, we have to pray for both Trump and JD Vance for full conversation to totally PROLIFE. For illegal immigration we have to pray for those who want to cross over illegally, to go via the legal channels to be US citizens. Pope Francis is not ruling out the legal processes, but he reminds world leaders to love their own people by stopping wars and the humanity livelihoods of people to eliminate illegal asylum seeking.
