I been doing Upholstery for over 40 years and this isa very nice and informative video. I'm glad you decided to replace the plywood, after going through all that trouble is best to do so and a good idea with using treated plywood. I have done this and when I did my first I did replace the plywood, but on the rest that I have been doing, I been buying construction grade plywood (which is cheaper) and paint them with 2 coats of exterior primer and 2 coats of exterior black paint (you could use any color you want, but use Exterior ) use Stainless Steel Staples and replace all T-Nut, and bolts if needed,. The problem using treated plywood is that you have to wait a year or longer to paint it and as you could see with the old plywood you had it was rotten, I like your video and hope you didn't mind me giving a few pointer. Been doing this for a long time and I always tell people that once you have it apart, when putting back together do a better job than who ever did it last. Blessing to you and your love one on this virus crisis and God Bless †
I cut the overall dimensions with a table saw, then did the cut outs and rounded the corners with a jigsaw. I cut the round holes (to let air escape when you sit on the seat) with a hole saw. I'm sure you could use a router or router table to round of the edges if you'd like. If you don't have access to either of these, I'm sure you could get the results you desire by carefully using a power sander.
Maybe a dumb question... what are the holes for? I'm trying to fix mine & the wood that's there is completely rotten & I don't have the big 3 holes

what did you use to cut the wood? Jigsaw? I normally use a Jigsaw but it doesn't round the edges like I want them... What about a routing table setup?
