    You really take your time to explain step by step, that's really good simply because it's helping everyone to follow without missing any instructions. Thank you so much, have been following your clips

    if you want the folder the folder to be hidden(if its ur main purpose) just go to properties of the folder and tick the hidden option... it will hide automatically ......for recovering go to the file explorer>view(on the above task bar)>options>view>advanced settings(show hidden folders).....thats it!

    so you'd have to extract the folder every time you want to edit anything?
    are ther any good 7-zip alternatives where you don't have to do that?

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  3 года назад +3

      Yes, you have to extract the folder every time you want to edit anything. That is a drawback of this process. I don't know of any alternatives that will allow editing without extraction first and password protection for the folder.

    Great video . . . VERY informative and helpful, BUT, why does the newly created, password protected folder lose its graphic appearance (i.e., the icon becomes "white"), and how can that be corrected, so it looks like the original folder, from which it's derived? Please, and thank you.

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  3 года назад

      The icon will not have a graphical appearance when it is not associated with a program (at least as far as Windows is concerned). With folders, the graphical appearance can be changed by right clicking on it and selecting Properties, Customize tab, Change Icon. With files, I don't think the graphical icon can be changed.

    could you have another password protected folder inside the first one so you would need two passwords to get in ?

    • @EasyPcRepairs
      @EasyPcRepairs  3 года назад

      I've never actually tried that. In theory you could, but I don't know for sure if it would work in practise.
