    Thank you Dr. Kappel! I’m so glad I came across your YT channel! I’m a young feeling and looking 54yo, but for the past few years have noticed under eye bags, fine wrinkles and some sagging of the jaw area. I really don’t want to have a face full of filler, so I’m taking your advice and going the laser route. I just had my 1st partially ablative laser treatment with the Secret Pro Co2 laser and RF microneedling. I only had my under eye and perioral area treated. I didn’t really want the microneedling but the aesthetician said results will be better when doing both. It’s only been 2 weeks but I have noticed an improvement in my skin tightness, maybe less wrinkles. I’m scheduled for a full face laser with microneedling in a month. Thank you again for all you do to help others make informed decisions about cosmetic dermatology procedures😍💋

    Thank you for clarifying the different laser treatments. Where we live and what is offered basically is categorized as medi spas. I am 70 years old have been having laser genesis ( which I now understand because of you is just heat and not a laser treatment that stimulates collagen every 2 months) I only have a choice between 2 types of Laser Resurfacing using MicroNeedling with Radiofrequency. ~ Fractora & Morpheus 8. My skin does look healthy But I guess do I just keep doing what I am doing as I have no issues or try something like the fractora . Spend the money on one treatment once a year instead of going every 2 months. 🤷🏻‍♀️
    Thank you for educating us
    I thought in another video you said you do not do microneeding because you do not agree with the procedure.
    I would like to see videos to help my age group age gracefully.

    I had treatment from a Fraxel type laser back in 2007. I peeled for almost a year. Yeah, not kidding. They told me that the setting was too intense for my face and ended up not charging me for half. My skin has thinned out dramatically because of it rather than improving thickness. It was aweful. Evidently fraxels can still be pretty intense. 15 years later I really need to do something because everything is dropping. I'm 47. I have Sjogren's and had a total hysterectomy 10 months ago. It's been hell. I went from looking okay in 40's to now looking late 50's. Crazy. I want to something but scared because of what happened years ago. My major problem areas are eye bags, jowls, loose neck skin and wrinkled lips. I'm athletic thin build.

    Hi Stefani, from your Beauty Nerd , I never mentioned you look good from your last the trip you took a few months ago. I have two questions. 1st questions is what lasers do you have in your office and why. The 2nd is I used to use eyelash extensions and I stopped because I was concerned if I used them for a long time if they would damage my eyelashes long term, where I would not have any eyelashes. What is your experience, have you had any, concerns? I was thinking of using lash extensions again.

    • @DrStefaniKappel
      @DrStefaniKappel  Год назад +1

      I often take breaks from lash extensions and my lashes always get healthy again. I feel it is a good idea to take beaks. As far as laser that I have in my office, I selected these based on working for years in a laser institute where I had access to hundreds of lasers. I carefully watched which one performed the best, gave the best results and had the happiest patients. It was Vbeam, Fraxel, a CO2 ( I have a CO2RE), PicoWay, Clear and Brilliant Touch, Thermage (always out performed Ulthera in my experience), and more. I do not have an IPL, BBL or microneedling device because patient's were never satisfied with the results from these devices and they often caused scarring hyperpigmentation weeks to months aftertreatment. The lasers I mentioned that "made the cut" had results that were superior and no other devices came close. I also have an Ellacor which is my favorite for tightening. I had the opportunity to use Ellacor in clinical trials in 2017 and was impressed then and still impressed now with the results it gives.

      @@annaperin6464don’t believe anyone just check the reviews and you will see that a lot of people lost facial fat , these doctors don’t mind as they provide fillers as well plus even if this one tell you she uses a different intensity you’re not sure the provider you will get will know especially when they provide the laser they not gonna say anything bad about it so be careful as I lost facial fat and only fat transfer could fix it and you do not want go this route as it’s very traumatic you have to stay a night in clinic plus the results were just subtle as a lot of fat has resolved and I do not wanna do another one it cost a lot of money on the top of all the treatments that I have done that caused the fat loss .I am now using good skincare and do micro needling with good results if I was to use these laser I will do it only on neck and jawline where I don’t mind to loose fat

      This is a very important point and I am glad you brought it up. The aesthetic industry is being infiltrated with less qualified providers and people who are cutting corners to make money. It makes me very sad but it's the hard truth, That is why I have this channel to hopefully protect you guys and to also let people know about the shady behind the scenes stuff that goes on in this industry. No, Thermage or energy based devices should never cause fat loss. If they do, they were not performed correctly or a older cheaper used machine was probably used instead of a brand new device purchased directly from the manufacturer. Laser brokers try to buy and sell used lasers and devices to medispas to make a profit. Medispas often buy used devices at a cheaper price to save money. The problem is that the software may not be updated, the settings can be inaccurate and on top of that having a provider using it without appropriate training can be the recipe for disaster. This is how you get fat loss and complications. If I have any advice for ou guys, these are the things to ask: 1. Did your office purchase this Thermage directly from the company or did you buy it used? If they bought it use run towards the closet door 2. How long have you been doing this procedure and where did you receive your training? (did they take a proper course or just RUclips how to do it in the back room before you got there?) and 3. Do you use numbing for the treatment? If they use numbing or anesthesia for Thermage that is a red flag and you should walk out the door. Thermage should not be painful and the feedback from the patient is important for the provider to know if it is too hi and in fat-melting danger zones. If they are using numbing cream then that feedback is lost and they can crank it up and melt fat. I hope this makes sense to guys?

      @@ummtaimann6819 Fat loos happens when providers are cutting corners or are not appropriately trained. See my response above. It is my goal to bring back the integrity and quality to my specialty (cosmetic dermatology) that has been lost.

      @@DrStefaniKappel i know you know your stuff but the problem is so hard nowadays to find a good provider most plastic surgeon provide lasers nowadays but have no ideas of how to use them and if you ask too many questions they get offended and ask if I was in the medical field just to say that if I ´m not I should just keep quiet and not ask all the questions that’s the reason I told the person above that even you know the intensity of the device she cannot guarantee another provider will , I know you’re not sponsored that’s the reason I watched your channel , I didn’t mean to upset or anything just relate my experience and which you the best

    Hi Dr. Would fraxel help with a forehead scar? I have had it all my life from an injury as a child. It was dent-like in appearance up until a year ago when I had filler done by a dr to see if it would fill it in. It worked but now looks more scar like with a small white line and make the skin look even uneven in texture and tone. Would love to know the best treatment to pursue. Many thanks in advance

      I have read and seen on YT that red light therapy can help. I am using RL at a tanning salon 3-5 times per week for a deep scar and inflammation on my glute due to an injury. I have been doing it and I think it is improving. Other people have told me they have used red light for acne scars.
      I was told fat transfer from two plastic surgeons but I am not interested.
